Abstract

This research is motivated by the low quality of graduates, which constitutes the main problem in the organization of education, particularly in terms of character, independent learning, and readiness to face global challenges. The low quality of graduates is influenced by weak planning of quality improvement programs that have not been formulated systematically and sustainably, where planning is not yet needs-based, data-driven, and oriented toward long-term goals, amid suboptimal implementation and achieved educational outcomes. The research aims to analyze the effectiveness of digital literacy learning planning in improving graduate quality through a Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) management cycle approach, with emphasis on the planning (Plan) stage. The research employs a qualitative approach and descriptive analysis method, with data collection techniques consisting of in-depth interviews, observations, and document studies. The research findings indicate: 1) the planning stage encompasses needs analysis, quality goal setting, program development, and determination of success indicators; 2) digital literacy-based learning planning that applies the PDCA cycle is formulated participatively, measurably, and oriented toward student needs, integrated into the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), and supported by adequate Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities, thereby serving as the primary foundation for improving graduate quality; 3) mature and structured planning proven to facilitate program implementation, strengthen the evaluation process, and drive sustainable graduate quality improvement. Abstract

Adolescent mental health is currently in an alarming condition; national data indicate that approximately one in three Indonesian adolescents (34.9%) experience mental health problems, with significant increases in anxiety and depression cases in the post-pandemic period. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Guidance and Counseling (GC) model at SMPN 43 Bandung using Edwards III Policy Implementation Model as the analytical framework. This research employed a qualitative case study approach with data collected through in-depth interviews and observations. The findings reveal that communication through In-House Training (IHT) ensures shared understanding and alignment between school leaders and implementers, while adequate budgeting and well-facilitated counseling rooms serve as key determinants of success, distinguishing this school from previous studies. The autonomous bureaucratic structure and formal collaboration through the TPPK Team, ESQ Training, Character Building initiatives, and the Homeroom Teacher Program establish an efficient referral system. Furthermore, the empathetic attitude of GC practitioners successfully eliminates the stigma commonly attached to counseling services, leading to a significant increase in students’ help-seeking behavior. However, the study also identifies gaps in the technical competence of GC teachers, particularly the need for enhanced mastery of advanced clinical counseling techniques. The study concludes that the implementation of GC services at SMPN 43 Bandung is highly effective due to the integration of strong managerial commitment and robust systemic support. This success demonstrates that eliminating instrumental barriers directly contributes to creating a healthy and stigma-free school climate. The model has strong potential to serve as a best practice reference for other educational institutions in managing adolescent mental health.

Abstract

The implementation of digital learning in schools has not been optimal in improving students’ critical thinking skills because technology is still used merely as a medium, has not been managed systematically or in a goal-oriented manner, and has not effectively promoted higher-level cognitive engagement in line with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum and the development of High Order Thinking Skills. This study aims to examine the implementation model of digital learning based on the Maze educational game in improving students’ critical thinking skills through a Management by Objectives approach. The study employs a qualitative case study design using observation, interviews, and documentation with thematic analysis. The findings indicate that Maze-based learning is planned systematically with measurable objectives, implemented in an active and student-centered manner, and supported by continuous monitoring and evaluation. Supporting factors include teachers’ digital literacy, school principal leadership, the availability of digital facilities, and a collaborative culture, while inhibiting factors include technical constraints, differences in students’ abilities, and limited instructional time.

Abstract

Kelompok belajar menjadi salah satu aktivitas untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru (mutu guru). Aktivitas ini tidak mudah dilakukan karena antara guru yang satu dengan guru yang lain memiliki sikap dan pemahaman yang berbeda. Ini menjadi masalah sehingga berdampak negative terhadap kompetensi guru tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis manajemen kelompok belajar dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru sekolah dasar. Dengan perkataan lain, fokus penelitian ini adalah pada perencanaan, pengorganisasian, pelaksanaan, dan pengawasan kelompok belajar di SDN Karangharja 3 dan SDN Kubang 1, Kabupaten Cianjur. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Pengambilan sampel atau responden dilakukan dengan purpose sampling. Responden dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah dan guru. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa manajemen kelompok belajar berkontribusi signifikan dalam meningkatkan kompetensi profesional guru, terutama dalam penguasaan materi, penerapan metode pembelajaran inovatif, serta kolaborasi antar guru. Namun, beberapa tantangan seperti keterbatasan waktu, fasilitas yang kurang memadai, dan rendahnya partisipasi guru masih ditemukan dalam implementasinya. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan peningkatan dukungan kepala sekolah, penyediaan fasilitas yang lebih baik, serta penjadwalan yang lebih fleksibel agar kelompok belajar dapat berjalan lebih efektif guna mendorong peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka dalam penyusunan modul ajar di dua Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK) swasta di Kabupaten Cianjur, yaitu SMK Putra Pagelaran dan SMK Tazkia Sukanagara. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus digunakan untuk mengeksplorasi dinamika manajerial kepala sekolah dalam mengelola transformasi kurikulum, serta dampaknya terhadap peningkatan kompetensi guru dan mutu pendidikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kedua sekolah menerapkan pendekatan yang berbeda: SMK Putra Pagelaran lebih berorientasi pada struktur dan efisiensi, sementara SMK Tazkia menonjol dalam pendekatan relasional dan empatik. Meskipun terdapat kemajuan dalam kinerja guru, tantangan tetap muncul, seperti resistensi terhadap perubahan, keterbatasan infrastruktur, dan beban administratif. Kepala sekolah berperan penting sebagai agen transformasi dengan mempraktikkan gaya kepemimpinan situasional, transformatif, dan berbasis empati. Implikasi dari temuan ini menegaskan perlunya sistem evaluasi berbasis data, penguatan budaya organisasi, dan kolaborasi lintas sektor sebagai strategi peningkatan mutu pendidikan berbasis sekolah. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi konseptual terhadap studi kepemimpinan pendidikan dan pengelolaan implementasi kurikulum berbasis konteks lokal.

Abstract

Anxiety in adolescents is a serious psychological barrier that affects students' academic performance and emotional well-being in high school, requiring effective and integrated intervention strategies in the educational environment. This study aims to find out the effectiveness of mindfulness-based learning interventions in reducing the level of anxiety of students at SMPN Satu Atap Terpadu Bungursari, Purwakarta. The researcher used a quantitative research paradigm with a quasi-experimental design (Nonequivalent Control Group Design), this study involved 60 students with moderate to high levels of anxiety who were selected through purposive sampling and divided into Experimental Group (n=30) and Control Group (n=30). The experimental group received a structured mindfulness program for 8 weekly sessions, while the control group received no intervention. Data was collected using a valid Adolescent Anxiety Scale through pre-test and post-test procedures, then analyzed using an Independent T Test on Gain Score. The results showed a significant difference (p < 0.001) in the decrease in anxiety scores, where the Experimental Group experienced an average decrease of 22.76 points compared to the Control Group which only experienced a natural decrease of 2.77 points. In conclusion, mindfulness interventions have been proven to be statistically and empirically effective as a method of anxiety mitigation.

Abstract

The low activity of students in elementary school is often identified by the lack of active participation, such as students who are passive in listening, reluctant to ask questions, discuss, or do class assignments. This is due to teacher-centered learning methods, abstract/boring materials, and psychological factors such as fear of mistakes and lack of confidence that reduce motivation and focus on learning. This study aims to describe the application of Canva technology-based learning in increasing student activity at SDIT Cendekia Purwakarta. The researcher uses a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation methods of learning activities. The results showed that the use of Canva-based learning media significantly increased student activity characterized by increased interaction, participation in discussions, and motivation to learn. Canva Media has proven to be an engaging and interactive learning tool. The conclusion of the study is that the application of Canva technology-based learning can be used as an innovative alternative to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low motivation of students to learn mathematics subjects at the elementary school level. Learning motivation is one of the important factors affecting the quality of mathematics learning. However, in practice, mathematics learning is still often perceived as a difficult and uninteresting subject by students, thus having an impact on low learning motivation. This study aims to describe the existence of teachers in increasing student learning motivation through mathematics learning based on group discussion activities. This study uses a case approach with data collection methods carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The respondents of the study are grade V teachers and grade V students of SDN 2 Cilandak. The results of the study show that (1) The existence of teachers is reflected through the role of teachers as planners, implementers, facilitators, motivators, and evaluators in mathematics learning based on group discussions; (2) Group discussion activities can create a more active, collaborative, and fun learning atmosphere, thereby encouraging optimal student involvement. The conclusion of this study is that mathematics learning based on group discussion activities can be an alternative effective learning strategy to increase student learning motivation with optimal teacher existence support.

Abstract

The background of this research is that there is a gap between the demands of the ideal curriculum emphasizing the development of in-depth teaching materials and the reality of copy-paste habits and administrative burdens that hinder teachers' creativity. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the preparation of teaching modules in the Independent Curriculum in improving teachers' professional competence. The research method used is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach. Data collection was carried out through non-participatory observation methods, in-depth interviews, and document studies, which were then analyzed through the stages of condensation, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that (1) The process of preparing the Teaching Module independently functions as an effective forcing mechanism for self-upgrading teachers; (2) The activity of studying learning outcomes and compiling teaching materials requires teachers to re-validate their scientific concepts, thereby strengthening the structure of thinking and mastery of the material (professional competence). The conclusion of this study is that the implementation of the preparation of teaching modules in the independent curriculum can improve teachers' professional competence if carried out through a collaborative learning community.

Abstract

The professional development needs of teachers still rely on formal training programs. Principal's leadership interventions are only sustainable and do not focus on consistent behavior change. Micro-habits coaching is seen as an approach that is able to foster positive habits through systematic mentoring, regular reflection, and directed feedback so that it has the potential to significantly strengthen teachers' pedagogic competence. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of principal leadership based on micro-habits coaching in improving teachers' pedagogic performance. This research uses a qualitative research paradigm with a case study approach. Data were collected through non-participatory observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Respondents were selected by purposive sampling. The findings of the study show that (1) the leadership of the principal has implemented micro-habits coaching can build a culture of continuous learning in the school environment; (2) The principal plays the role of a coach who facilitates teachers to identify areas of self-development, set realistic micro-targets, monitor progress, and provide positive reinforcement for the achievements obtained. This study concludes that micro-habits coaching based leadership is an effective strategy to improve teachers' pedagogic performance and is implemented more widely as a model of sustainable professional development in schools.
