Abstract

This study explores how bank ownership affects the effectiveness of macroprudential policies in reducing the impact of monetary shocks on bank asset quality in Indonesia. The study is motivated by the idea that monetary tightening does not affect all banks equally, as ownership characteristics shape how banks respond to changes in the policy rate. Quarterly panel data from 40 Indonesian commercial banks during 2020Q1–2025Q4 are analyzed using the two-step System Generalized Method of Moments (System-GMM) to address dynamic effects, endogeneity, and differences across ownership groups. Bank asset quality is measured by the non-performing loan (NPL) ratio, while monetary shocks are proxied by changes in the Bank Indonesia policy rate. Macroprudential policy is represented through a composite index of prudential instruments, and ownership is divided into state-owned and private banks. The findings show that monetary tightening may initially improve asset quality by prompting banks to apply stricter lending standards. However, the effect weakens over time as higher borrowing costs reduce borrowers' repayment capacity and increase credit risk. The results also indicate that macroprudential policies help strengthen banking stability by containing the rise of risky credit. Furthermore, ownership structure plays an important role in policy transmission, with private banks responding more strongly to monetary policy changes than state-owned banks. These findings suggest that effective financial stability policies require stronger coordination between monetary and macroprudential measures, while accounting for differences in bank behavior driven by ownership structures.

Abstract

The advancement of digital technology has led to various innovations in the financial sector, one of which is financial technology (fintech). This innovation has significantly transformed how society, especially the millennial generation, accesses financial services and participates in investment activities. This study aims to examine in depth how fintech contributes to increasing investment participation among Indonesian millennials. A descriptive qualitative approach is employed through literature review methods, supported by secondary data from authoritative institutions such as the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia, as well as various industry reports and academic publications. Findings indicate that fintech successfully reduces many conventional barriers that have long hindered young people from investing. These barriers include limited access to initial capital, a lack of credible investment information, and complex traditional investment procedures. Fintech platforms offer more inclusive access through user-friendly mobile applications, educational features, and more affordable and flexible investment options. These features play a significant role in increasing millennials' interest and confidence in investing. Nevertheless, challenges remain in the form of uneven financial literacy and data security risks, which must be managed seriously. This study concludes that fintech acts as a strategic driver of financial inclusion, with great potential to foster a more financially literate and empowered young generation of investors.

Abstract

A company needs to improve sustainability in order to prosper its owners and shareholders and this can be done by implementing financial management policies. This development research aims to review whether the company's value can be affected by the financial management policies of each state-owned company listed on the IDX in 2019-2021. Almost all companies feel the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, many state-owned companies distribute large dividends and also provide funding or invest in startup companies. In addition, the number of investors during the Covid-19 pandemic has also increased rapidly. The type of research used in this study is explanatory using a quantitative approach. The subjects of this study are state-owned companies listed on the IDX in 2019 to 2021. The purposive sampling technique was used for the sample collection process and 16 companies were obtained with 48 observations that met the sample selection criteria. Furthermore, the analysis applied was multiple linear regression analysis. Testing is needed when you want to know the relationship between variables, so a test is carried out using the classical assumption test. The results of all the analyses carried out prove that there is no influence of policies or can also be called funding decisions and investment policies on the value of a company, especially for BUMN. However, it is different with dividend policies which have been proven to have a positive impact on the value of the company.

This study is a type of quantitative research. The population used in this study were OVO E-Wallet users in Bengkulu City. This study used incidental sampling techniques or non-probability sampling, so that a research sample of 100 respondents was obtained from Generation Z in Bengkulu City. The collection of respondent data was distributed via Google Form. The results of the multiple linear regression analysis are the equation Y = 1.566 + 0.621 X1 + 0.253 X2 + 0.212 X3 +e, this illustrates a positive regression direction, meaning that the service feature variables (X1), perceived ease (X2) and financial literacy (X3) have a positive influence on the decision to use (Y) in Generation Z in Bengkulu City. From the results of the calculation using SPSS version 25.0, the coefficient of determination of R square can be seen as 0.842. This means that the value of service features (X1), perceived ease (X2) and financial literacy (X3) influence the decision to use (Y) by 84.2% while the remaining 15.8% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study. The results of the t-test at a significance level 0.05 explain that partially service features (X1), perceived ease (X2) and financial literacy (X3) have a significant influence on the decision to use (Y) in Generation Z of Bengkulu City. The results of the f-test are smaller than 0.000, so the variables of service features (X1), perceived ease (X2) and financial literacy (X3) have a significant influence on the decision to use (Y) in Generation Z of Bengkulu City.
