Abstract

The struggle for modernity gave rise to the degradation of the value of character education. At this stage the revitalization of the value of religious local wisdom in tradition needs to be developed again. The existence of nyadran tradition in Ngepringan continues to be developed by mixing the value of local wisdom with religious values. This unique combination is a form of local wisdom against the individual culture that developed in the community, the development of modernity. This means that the community can not only uphold the cultural values of the ancestors, and also cannot adapt the tradition to conditions, and still insert religious values in it. Nyadran tradition is still played by the Ngepringan community because they are spiritual tourism and become a harmonizer political, social, economic and spiritual life. The collection of data information is through observation and interview with the Ngepringan village community. The purpose of this study is to explore religious values in the Nyadran ceremony procession. This type of research is ethnography with qualitative descriptive method. Data collection techniques use techniques, interviews, documentation, and language content. The data analysis uses interactive analysis technique. The results of this study are to reveal and describe the religious values in the ceremony procession that need to be preserved and improved by the Ngepringan village community in the face of modernity. Pergulatan modernitas melahirkan degradasi nilai pendidikan karakter. Pada titik ini revitalisasi nilai kearifan lokal religius dalam tradisi perlu dikembangkan kembali. Eksistensi tradisi nyadran di Ngepringan terus dikembangkan dengan mencampur nilai kearifan lokal dengan nilai religius. Perpaduan yang unik ini merupakan bentuk kearifan lokal melawan budaya individualis yang berkembang di masyarakat mengikuti perkembangan modernitas. Hal ini bermakna bahwa masyarakat disana tidak hanya menjunjung nilai-nilai budaya dari para leluhur, melainkan juga mampu menyesuaikan tradisi dengan kondisi, serta masih menyisipkan nilai-nilai religius di dalamnya. Tradisi nyadran masih tetap dipertahankan oleh masyarakat Ngepringan dikarenakan nyadran sebagai wisata rohani serta menjadi penyelaras kehidupan politik, sosial, ekonomi, dan agama. Informasi data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan masyarakat desa Ngepringan. Tujuan studi ini untuk menggali nilai religius dalam prosesi upacara nyadran. Jenis penelitian ini adalah etnografi dengan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, wawancara, dokumentasi, dan analisis isi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis interaktif. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah mengungkap dan mendeskripsikan nilai religius dalam prosesi upacara nyadran yang perlu terus dilestarikan dan ditingkatkan oleh masyarakat desa Ngepringan dalam menghadapi modernitas.

Abstract

Javanese culture is a system of ideas which directs Javanese people’s attitude and behaviors. It contains local wisdom that has a great influence on their daily life. The research method employed in this study is descriptive qualitative by implementing content analysis approach. The data studied are the scripts of Sekar Macapat Pocung. Local wisdom has a highly philosopical meaning which enhances the tenacity of nations. Tembang Macapat is considered as a form of local wisdom in Javanese culture. Sekar Macapat Pocung is the eleventh popular meters of recited Javanese poem. Through the recited Javanese poem, Islamic religious values and noble values are delivered meaningfully. It becomes precept and inseparable part of Javanese people in leading religious and national life. Budaya Jawa merupakan suatu sistem yang menjadi pedoman bagi masyarakat Jawa dalam berperilaku dan bersikap. Di dalam budaya Jawa terdapat kearifan lokal sebagai pendorong yang kuat dalam kehidupan masyarakat Jawa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis isi. Data yang dikaji adalah naskah Sekar Macapat Pocung. Kearifan lokal budaya Jawa mengandung makna filosofis yang meningkatkan ketahanan nasional sebuah bangsa. Tembang Macapat termasuk wujud kearifan lokal budaya Jawa. Sekar Macapat Pocung adalah metrum kesebelas yang dikenal sebagai produk budaya berbentuk puisi Jawa kuno yang dilagukan. Melalui syair dalam tembang, nilai-nilai religus Islam dan pitutur bijak disampaikan penuh makna. Nilai-nilai religus Islam dan pitutur bijak dalam Sekar Macapat Pocung menjadi pegangan dan bagian hidup yang tak terpisahkan dari masyarakat Jawa dalam menjalani kehidupan beragama dan berbangsa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the values of Islamic religious character education in the cleaning process of Dhukutan village in Nglurah village, Tawangmangu sub-district. Dhukutan is a traditional ceremony of Nglurah villagers to commemorate the death of their ancestors named Kyai Menggung. This traditional ceremony is held once every seven lapan (1 lapan=35 days based on Javanese calendar). The method used to find the value of religious character education is a descriptive qualitative method. The sources of the data are the offerings related to the implementation of the Dhukutan village cleaning ceremony. The results of the study show that the religious values reflected in the Dhukutan traditional ceremony are sincere, honest, obedient, disciplined, diligent, praying, grateful, and trustworthy. Within the process of Dhukutan village cleaning ceremony, the value of religious character education is beneficial for students to be both intellectually and emotionally intelligent students. This study suggests educators, especially within Tawangmangu area, to employ the Dhukutan village cleaning ceremony as a learning tool of religious character education values for elementary students. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan nilai pendidikan karakter agama dalam proses pembersihan desa Dhukutan di desa Nglurah, Kecamatan Tawangmangu. Dhukutan adalah upacara tradisional penduduk desa Nglurah untuk memperingati hari kematian leluhur mereka yang bernama Kyai Menggung. Upacara tradisional ini diadakan sekali setiap 7 lapan (1 lapan = 35 hari berdasarkan kalender Jawa) Metode yang digunakan untuk menemukan nilai pendidikan karakter agama adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber data dalam penelitian ini adalah sesembahan yang terkait dengan pelaksanaan upacara pembersihan desa Dhukutan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai-nilai agama yang tercermin dalam upacara tradisional Dhukutan adalah tulus, jujur, patuh, disiplin, rajin berdoa, bersyukur, dan dapat dipercaya. Dalam proses upacara pembersihan desa Dhukutan, ditemukan nilai pendidikan karakter agama yang sangat berguna bagi siswa untuk membentuk kecerdasan intelektual dan emosional siswa. Studi ini menyarankan para pendidik, khususnya di daerah Tawangmangu, untuk menggunakan upacara pembersihan desa Dhukutan sebagai alat pembelajaran pendidikan karakter agama bagi siswa.

Abstract

Children with special needs refer to they who had educational need and additional needs because of certain physical, mental, or emotional condition. They needed special teaching approach and additional sources to support their learning process. Therefore, this community service aimed to teach student using Si Raca App. The method consisted of three main stages, namely 1) preparation stage, 2) implementation stage, and 3) evaluation stage. The subjects of this community service were children with special needs who got difficulties in early reading. The subjects were 4 students with different special needs. This service was conducted at SLB Negeri Tambahrejo. Data was collected using observation, interview, and documentation. Results of this community service showed that in the preparation stage, initial assessment about students' backgrounds was conducted. In the implementation stage, it was focused on the use of Si Raca App. It was started from introducing alphabets using visual and audio media. In the evaluation stage, it utilized word puzzles in Si Raca App. These puzzles were designed to test children's skill in recognizing and arranging words. It could be concluded that three stages of this comnunity service supported the reading skill development of children with special needs using Si Raca App.

Abstract

This study aims to adapt CEFR in developing an integrative approach-based teaching material model for a pre-basic BISOL class. The method used in this research is the development research design by Borg and Gall. This study was development research. The stages are identification of the problem, formulation of a hypothetical draft model; feasibility testing by experts; product revision; and test product effectiveness. The data were collected through survey techniques, interviews, and documentation. The needs identification results revealed data encompassing 10 themes, 5 tasks per theme, and diverse evaluations comprising theory, in-class practice, and real-world field assignments, both on an individual and group basis. These identified needs require alignment with CEFR A1 for the development of BISOL learning. These findings were subsequently incorporated into the design of the teaching material model, and the results indicated that tailoring CEFR to BISOL as an integrative language teaching material model was feasible for application in the classroom, as assessed by experts. The implications suggest that integrating CEFR into BISOL is highly feasible for the development of teaching materials, and teachers can leverage this instructional model to enhance students' proficiency in the Indonesian language..

Abstract

Dewasa ini, kekhawatiran akan punahnya bahasa ibu selayaknya menjadi perhatian besar masyarakat Indonesia. Punahnya bahasa ibu atau bahasa-bahasa lokal merupakan salah satu indikator punahnya warisan budaya bangsa. Dengan semakin memudarnya warisan budaya bangsa maka hilanglah karakter utama bangsa, oleh sebab itu bahasa ibu dan bahasa lokal sebagai warisan budaya harus terus dijaga dan dipertahankan keberadaannya. Salah satu ikhtiar utama dalam menjaga warisan budaya tersebut adalah dengan menjaga bentuk penerjemahan khas Arab – Jawa, yang sudah jamak dilakukan oleh para santri pondok-pondok pesantren di Nusantara. Salah satu kitab yang menggunakan terjemahan tersebut adalah kitab Bidaayatul-Hidaayah karya Imam Al-Ghazali yang diterjemahkan oleh Kyai Haji Hammaam Naashirud-Din Magelang. Dalam menerjemahkan kitab tersebut, penerjemah menggunakan model word for word translation yang cukup khas dan berkarakter. Pesan moral yang ada dalam kitab diungkapkan dengan syarah (penjelasan) dengan menggunakan bahasa Jawa. Makalah ini akan mengelaborasi problematika penerjemahan yang ada dalam penerjemahan kitab Bidayatul-Hidayah, baik dari sisi teknik dan metode penerjemahan kitab tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, makalah ini menemukan adanya pergeseran bentuk satuan kebahasaan yang ada dalam penerjeman Arab – Jawa kitab Bidayatul-Hidayah. Selain itu, pesan moral yang ada dalam kitab tersebut telah menjadi landasan fundamental dalam pembentukan karakter Santri Nusantara.Language extinction, both mother tongues and local languages, nowadays deserves Indonesian’ attention. When a language extinguishes, a cultural heritage and a character of a nation also disappear. Mother tongue and local languages should be preserved. One plausible way to do so is by maintaining the translation pattern of Arabic-Javanese that are common among the Islamic boarding schools. An example of such pattern is seen in Imam Al-Ghazali’s Bidaayatul-Hidaayah translated into Javanese by Kyai Haji Hammaam Naashirud-Din Magelang. The translation appears to be word-for-word translation with some explanation, syarah, which is also written in Javanese. This writing elaborated the translation problems of Bidaayatul-Hidaayah from its technique and method of translation. A qualitative descriptive method was used to figure out language feature shift in the Arabic-Javanese translation. This writing suggests that the moral message within Bidaayatul-Hidaayah serves as fundamental framework in shaping the Muslim learners in Indonesian Islamic boarding school.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan struktur Mantra Jawa dan relevansi Mantra sebagai kearifan lokal dalam kaitannya dengan agama Islam. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan menggunakan lokasi di Solo Raya termasuk Surakarta, Boyolali, Sukoharjo, Wonogiri, Klaten, Karanganyar, dan Sragen. Teknik analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis interaktif, seperti reduksi data, display data, dan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian telah menunjukkan bahwa Mantra Jawa memiliki tiga jenis struktur, yaitu: (1) yang ideal, (2) acak, dan (3) tidak stabil. Struktur ideal Mantra Jawa Mantra dibagi menjadi tiga bagian utama, seperti: kepala, tubuh, dan kaki. Struktur Mantra ditutupi dengan rumus mistis, magis, mitologi, suara, diksi, dan imajinasi. Wacana nilai Islam telah sangat dominan dalam bahasa Mantra. Zat bahasa Arab juga dilekatkan dalam teks Mantra dan menghasilkan bentuk karakteristik khusus yang baru. Kondisi ini telah membuat karakter tertentu dari teks Mantra, seperti sintesis antara Jawa dan budaya Islam di satu kombinasi dan dari tradisi lain yaitu budaya Jawa. Berdasarkan penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Mantra milik orang Jawa secara bebas dapat diartikan sebagai metode atau konsep diungkapkan dengan kata-kata dan itu menegaskan bahwa Mantra memiliki kekuatan yang tak terlihat dan juga telah dibuat sebagai penetrasi pemecahan masalah kehidupan. This considerable study aims to explain the structure of Javanese Mantra and the relevancy of Mantra as a local wisdom in its relation with Islamic religion. This study is using the descriptive qualitative approach using the certain locations in Solo Raya including Surakarta, Boyolali, Sukoharjo, Wonogiri, Klaten, Karanganyar, and Sragen. The technique of analysis used in this study is interactive analysis, such as the data reduction, data display, and the conclusion. The result of the study has shown that the Javanese people Mantra has three types of structure, they are: (1) ideal, (2) random, and (3) unstable. The ideal structure of Javanese people Mantra was divided into three main parts, such as: the head, the body, and the leg. The structure of Mantra was covered by the mystical formula, magical, mythological, the sound, the diction, and the imagination. The discourse of Islamic value has been extremely dominant in the language of Mantra. The Arabic language substances also embedded in the text of Mantra and performed the new specific characteristic form. This condition has made the specific character of Mantra’s text, such as the synthesis between the Javanese and Islamic culture in the one combination of Javanese cultural tradition. Based on this study, it can be concluded that the Mantra belongs to the Javanese freely can be interpreted as a method or the concept expressed by the words and it was confirmed that Mantra has the invisible power and also it has been made as the penetration to solving the problems life.

Bahasa Indonesia, sebagai bahasa nasional dan bahasa persatuan, memiliki potensi yang sangat besar untuk mendunia. Salah satu upaya untuk mencapai tujuan tersebut adalah melalui program Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA). BIPA berperan penting dalam memperkenalkan bahasa dan budaya Indonesia ke seluruh dunia, serta meningkatkan kemampuan berbahasa Indonesia penutur asing. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menciptakan bahan ajar BIPA yang inovatif dan menarik bagi para mahasiswa di Universitas Yale, Amerika Serikat. Dodol Garut, makanan tradisional Garut yang kaya akan cita rasa dan sejarah, dipilih sebagai tema utama bahan ajar ini. Metodologi penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif, dengan pendekatan partisipatif. Peneliti mengkaji literatur mengenai Dodol Garut dan melibatkan mahasiswa Yale University dalam pembuatan bahan ajar melalui diskusi, survei, dan wawancara. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis untuk lebih memahami reaksi, persepsi, dan pemahaman siswa tentang Dodol Garut dan budaya Indonesia. Berdasarkan temuan tersebut, bahan ajar BIPA dibuat melalui pendekatan berbasis proyek. Siswa didorong untuk berpartisipasi aktif dalam eksplorasi kuliner Dodol Garut dan mengembangkan materi pembelajaran yang inovatif berdasarkan pengalaman mereka. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menghasilkan bahan ajar BIPA yang interaktif, relevan, dan detail, sehingga mahasiswa asing di Yale University dapat memperkaya dan meningkatkan pengalaman belajar mereka dalam memahami budaya Indonesia melalui Dodol Garut. Indonesian, as a national language and the language of unity, has enormous potential to go global. One effort to achieve this goal is through the Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) program. BIPA plays an important role in introducing Indonesian language and culture to the world, as well as improving the Indonesian language skills of foreign speakers. The aim of this research is to create innovative and interesting BIPA teaching materials for students at Yale University, United States. Dodol Garut, a traditional Garut food that is rich in taste and history, was chosen as the main theme of this teaching material. The research methodology used is qualitative, with a participatory approach. Researchers reviewed literature regarding Dodol Garut and involved Yale University students in creating teaching materials through discussions, surveys and interviews. The collected data was analyzed to better understand students' reactions, perceptions and understanding of Dodol Garut and Indonesian culture. Based on these findings, BIPA teaching materials were created using a project-based approach. Students are encouraged to actively participate in the culinary exploration of Dodol Garut and develop innovative learning materials based on their experiences. It is hoped that this research can produce interactive, relevant and detailed BIPA teaching materials, so that foreign students at Yale University can enrich and improve their learning experience in understanding Indonesian culture through Dodol Garut.

Abstract

This The research entitled "Analysis of Teacher and Student Language Variety in Class Interaction at SDN 1 Kabunderan" aims to describe the use of various languages ​​of teachers and students in the school environment of SDN 1 Kabunderan. This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method based on existing facts. Data obtained based on observations in the field. The results of research conducted at SDN 1 Kabunderan show that there are a variety of standard, official, relaxed, and familiar languages ​​used by teachers and students such as the use of mixed languages ​​of Indonesian, Javanese and English. The most dominant use of mixed languages ​​is the variety of Indonesian with Javanese ngapak, while the non-dominant use is found in the variety of Indonesian and English. The occurrence of various languages ​​is motivated by Javanese cultural factors, foreign languages, technological developments, social media developments, familiarity, and mutual respect.

Abstract

This study aims to: (1) analyze and describe the forms of expressive speech acts found in the film Gara Gara Warisan by Muhadkly Acho, and (2) describe the relevance of the film Gara Gara Warisan in Learning Drama Material for Grade XI in High School. This research is a qualitative research. The data sources of this research include documents in the form of the Gara Gara Warisan film and its informants, namely the Indonesian language teacher of class XI. Data collection techniques are carried out by document analysis and interviews. Meanwhile, the data validity test technique is the triangulation of theory and data sources. This study uses a data analysis technique, namely document analysis. The results of this study are as follows. The film Gara Gara Pahlawan contains expressive speech acts which consist of 5 expressive speech acts of apologizing, apologizing, giving praise, saying thank you, and saying congratulations. Overall there were 13 data found. The most data is in the expressive speech act of apologizing with 5 data, while the data with the lowest amount is the expressive speech act of apologizing with 1 data.
