Abstract

Persis (Persatuan Islam –Islamic Union) is one of the Islamic organizations in Indonesia that has made a significant contribution to the development of education since it was founded in 1923. This article aims to analyze the role of Persis in building an education system based on Islamic values, starting from the colonial era and the independence to the current modern era. Using a historical and qualitative-descriptive approach, this research examines the educational strategies, challenges and innovations carried out by Persis through madrasas, Islamic boarding schools and formal educational institutions. The findings show that Persis is consistent in fighting for education based on pure Islamic beliefs, both through curriculum formation, teacher training and the development of educational institutions. In the reform and digital era, Persis continues to adapt to technology and global needs to ensure the relevance of Islamic education in producing a generation with noble character and high competence. This research confirms that the role of Persis education does not only cover the Islamic realm but also contributes to Indonesia's national development. Contribution: By promoting character education through various community initiatives, including social media outreach, Persis demonstrates its commitment to fostering a generation that embodies noble values while being equipped for modern societal roles.

Abstract

This research reveals the impact of implementing the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Approach in the teaching of reading. Through the CTL approach, reading learning is integrated with real-world contexts, making learning more meaningful and relevant to students. This pedagogical framework aims to engage students in deeper understanding and critical thinking while facilitating the application of reading skills in various contexts. However, the effectiveness of CTL in reading instruction has been a subject of debate, with some studies reporting positive results while others show limited effectiveness, especially for students with low vocabulary or intelligence. This study aims to comprehensively assess the impact of CTL on reading learning, considering aspects such as vocabulary improvement, student motivation, reading comprehension, and learning outcomes. Through a qualitative approach and a multiple case study, involving 40 second-semester students from two universities in Sumbawa Island, West Nusa Tenggara Province, this study found that CTL can significantly improve students' psychological, linguistic, and achievement factors. In terms of psychological factors, students showed increased motivation and engagement in reading activities when the material was relevant to their lives and interests. Linguistically, CTL facilitates vocabulary improvement through personalized learning strategies and culturally relevant materials. In addition, CTL had a positive impact on students' achievement in reading, which was reflected in their improved comprehension and scores. These findings suggest that CTL can effectively improve students' reading skills and motivation when implemented with consideration of contextual relevance and personalized learning approaches. However, further research is needed to understand the complex effects of CTL on various aspects of student learning outcomes. Continuous evaluation and refinement of CTL implementation are essential to maximize its effectiveness in improving students' reading skills and their academic achievement.

Abstract

ABSTRACTOne of the efforts made to build the performance of human resources management is to foster work motivation through the development of Human Resources into qualified, professional and devoted personnel. Employee performance is very important in determining company performance. Sultan Agung Hospital is the first health service provider institution to organize the tahfizh al-Qur'an learning program for employees held at the House of Tahfizh Darus Syifa '. Preliminary study results at RSI Sultan Agung show that employees involved in memorizing the Koran have a good performance. This can be proven through the achievement of employee Key Performance Indicators (KPI), DP3 (List of Work Implementation Ratings) and work achievements. The approach used in this research is quantitative with experimental and survey methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through the collection of performance documents and questionnaires for 38 employees as samples of research objects. Abstract

Penelitian ini berdasarkan fenomena bahwa masih banyak ayah yang belum mampu menjalankan tugas dan tanggung jawabnya dengan baik. Bahkan banyak keluarga yang mengalami kegagalan, sehingga mempengaruhi pendidikan keluarga. Sedangkan dari keluargalah anak pertama kali mendapatkan pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, Allah memerintahkan kepada orang yang beriman untuk menjaga diri dan keluarga dari hal-hal yang dapat memasukkan ke dalam api neraka. Penelitian ini dibahas menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis Penelitian Kepustakaan (Library Research) sebagai prosedur yang menghasilkan data deskriptif yang berupa kata-kata tertulis. Sumber data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Al-Qur'an, Tafsir Al-Misbah, Tafsir Ibnu Katsir, Tafsir Al-Azhar, dan Tafsir Ath-Thabari, dan juga data sekunder yakni buku-buku yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan keluarga. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan metode tafsir al-tahlili yakni dengan memaparkan segala aspek yang terkandung didalam ayat yang ditafsirkan, serta menerangkan makna-makna yang tercakup didalamnya sesuai dengan keahlian dan kecenderungan mufasir yang menafsirkan ayat-ayat tersebut. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ayah berperan penting dalam menjaga serta mendidik keluarganya agar menjadi keluarga yang shalih sehingga terhindar dari panasnya siksa api neraka, seperti halnya perintah Allah yang terkandung dalam surah at-Tahrim ayat 6 yaitu untuk melindungi keluarga dari siksa api neraka.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan deskripsi peran aktif ulama dalam dakwah pembaharuan Islam di Garut, yang difokuskan mengkaji salah satu sosok ulama yaitu K. H. Mustofa Kamil. Metode yang dilakukan adalah wawancara dan pengumpulan data sejarah tentang K. H. Mustofa Kamil, dari sumber-sumber yang ada di Garut. Hasil kajian memperlihatkan ketokohan K. H. Mustofa Kamil sebagai seorang ulama pembaharu yang jasa-jasanya dikenang dalam perjuangan dakwah pembaharuan Islam di Garut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peranan K. H. Mustofa Kamil dengan jenis penelitian adalah penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan metode historis dibantu dengan studi dokumentasi, studi literatur, dan wawancara sebagai teknik penelitiannya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa K. H Mustofa Kamil sangat berkontribusi dalam pembaharuan Islam di Garut. Beliau dikenal sebagai Kiai jerajak maksudnya adalah Kiai yang sering masuk penjara. dalam pembaharuan Islam di Garut tidaklah mulus, karena beliau harus masuk keluar penjara akibat gerakan yang beliau lakukan. Hasil dari gerakan yang dilakukan oleh K. H Mustofa Kamil yaitu banyak masyarakat yang insyaf dari berbagai hal yang dilarang oleh agama, mengajak masyarakat untuk membangun masjid yang nantinya dipakai untuk aktvitas keagamaan, dan menyadarkan masyarakat akan pentingnya ilmu agama Islam, sehingga banyak orang yang memperdalam agama Islam dengan bimbingan beliau.

Abstract

When tracing traces and history, what needs to be considered is not only physical relics, but also non-physical relics. Physical relics are all forms of relics, namely concrete, can be seen, experienced, felt, and documented, while non-physical relics are ideas, knowledge, meanings and symbols, and values ​​that are believed and embraced by defenders of a particular culture. Therefore, these things must be the orientation in everyday life. In the context of history, Mohammad Natsir shows physical relics, and also stores a wealth of non-physical relics. It is important to see both aspects at once. How Mohammad Natsir Contributed to the Old Period Government (1945-1965) Of course, this requires a comprehensive investigation. The method used by the author in this article is the historical research method. The historical method used in this article consists of four stages, namely heuristics, verification, interpretation and writing. A comprehensive search for Mohammad Natsir's Contribution not only measures and describes his role in the development of Islam in Indonesia, but also provides his movement and contribution during the Old Order Era (1945-1965). Keywords: Contribution, Old Order Era, Mohammad Natsir, Development of Islam   ABSTRAK Ketika menelusuri jejak dan sejarah, yang perlu diperhatikan bukan hanya peninggalan fisik, tetapi juga peninggalan nonfisik. Peninggalan fisik yaitu segala bentuk peninggalan, yaitu konkret, dapat dilihat, dialami, dirasakan, dan didokumentasikan, sedangkan peninggalan nonfisik adalah gagasan, pengetahuan, makna dan simbol, serta nilai-nilai yang diyakini dan dianut oleh para pembela budaya tertentu. Oleh karena itu, hal-hal tersebut harus menjadi orientasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Dalam konteks sejarah, Mohammad Natsir memperlihatkan peninggalan fisik, dan juga menyimpan kekayaan peninggalan nonfisik. Penting untuk melihat kedua aspek tersebut sekaligus. Bagaimana Kontribusi Mohammad Natsir pada Pemerintagan Periode Lama (1945-1965) Tentu saja, hal itu memerlukan penelusuran yang komprehensif. Metode  yang  digunakan  oleh  penulis  dalam  artikel  ini  adalah  metode  penelitian sejarah.  Metode  sejarah  yang  diguakan  dalam  artikel  ini  terdiri  dari  empat  tahapan yaitu  heuristik,  verifikasi,  interpretasi  dan  penulisan.H Penelusuran yang komprehensif terhadap Kontribusi Mohammad Natsir tidak hanya mengukur dan melukiskan dari perannya terhadap perkembangan Islam di Indonesia, tetapi juga memberi pergerakan dan kontribusinya pada Masa Orde Lama (1945-1965).

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas peran Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) dalam perkembangan Islam di Jawa Timur pada periode 1926-1942, masa yang ditandai dengan kolonialisme Belanda dan dinamika sosial-keagamaan di Nusantara. Menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah, penelitian ini meliputi tahapan heuristik, verifikasi, interpretasi, dan historiografi untuk menggali sumber-sumber primer seperti arsip, surat kabar, dan dokumen-dokumen organisasi NU, serta sumber sekunder berupa buku dan artikel akademik terkait. Fokus utama penelitian adalah menelusuri kontribusi NU dalam mempertahankan tradisi Islam Ahlussunnah wal Jama'ah di tengah arus modernisasi dan gerakan reformasi Islam yang berkembang di Nusantara.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa NU berperan signifikan dalam memperkuat jaringan pesantren sebagai pusat pendidikan Islam tradisional, serta mengembangkan struktur organisasi yang solid guna melawan kebijakan kolonial yang merugikan umat Islam. NU juga aktif dalam bidang sosial-politik dengan membela hak-hak umat Islam melalui diplomasi dengan pemerintah kolonial. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa peran NU pada periode ini tidak hanya terbatas pada aspek keagamaan, tetapi juga mencakup penguatan identitas Islam tradisional di Jawa Timur dan memperjuangkan kepentingan umat dalam konteks kolonialisme.

Abstract

The study of the transformation of Islamic thought in Indonesia is very important to see the connection between the Middle East and Indonesia. The discourse of Islamic renewal developed along with the complexity of the conditions in the Middle East, as well as the strengthening of the practice of purifying Islam and western modernism in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. KH. Abdurrahman Wahid is one of the many figures who contributed his thoughts in transforming Islam into Indonesian cultural values. Related to this, this study tries to look at the Islamic thoughts of KH. Abdurrahman Wahud in the late 20th century. In a work, namely Cosmopolitan Islam (Indonesian Values ​​and Cultural Transformation), he presents Islam as a religion that gives freedom to everyone to work without being limited by anything, such as political and ethnic identity. In this study, the author uses a historical research method consisting of four stages, namely Heuristics, Criticism, Interpretation, Historiography. Thus, this study will focus on the thoughts of KH. Abdurrahman Wahid in the renewal of Indonesian Islam. The results of this study indicate that the thoughts of KH. Abdurrahman Wahid has a close relationship with Islam from three dimensions. The first is in terms of Islamic Theology, Second is Islamic Mysticism and the last is Islamic philosophy. With these three parts, KH. Abdurrahman Wahid believes that Islam will reach its highest point of progress when all expressions and works of individual and group creations are given the same right to life, no matter how deviant or considered heretical. After studying the thoughts of KH. Abdurrahman Wahid, it appears that when choosing Islam as a basis, whatever path is chosen, as long as the foundation of Islam has been firmly embedded, then it will not be a problem. In other words, KH. Abdurrahman Wahid teaches us as Muslims to have an open mind, as well as broad insight.

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the magnitude of the influence of COVID-19 on the implementation of Industrial Work Practices for Building Engineering students of SMKN 1 West Sumatra. This research includes quantitative research of associative approaches. The population of this study was students of class XI Building Engineering, which numbered 50 students. Data collection is carried out using questionnaires. Questionnaires are used to measure COVID-19 variables and Industrial Work Practices. Instrument testing was carried out at SMKN 1 West Sumatra in class XI students of the Mechatronics Expertise Program, totaling 30 students. The data analysis techniques used are the prerequisite analysis tests, namely the normality test and linearity test, and the hypothesis test used is a simple regression analysis. The results of the research showed that there was a positive and significant influence of COVID-19 on the implementation of Industrial Work Practices for Building Engineering Students of SMKN 1 West Sumatra. This research indicates possible changes in building engineering education methods and emphasizes the importance of flexible skills in response to changing industrial work practices.

Abstract

As the oldest educational institution in Indonesia, Islamic boarding schools, famously known as Pesantren, are institutions which have persistence in transforming Islamic values. The persistence of Islamic boarding schools in affirming their role as educational institutions that always keep up with current developments is characterized by a responsive attitude to issues of religious moderation. In the global context, religious moderation is very necessary as a collective commitment to maintaining peace and national integrity. The existence of Islamic boarding schools is again being challenged to be adaptive in responding to problems of religious moderation. This research is intended to answer the problem formulation regarding what the values of religious moderation mean, what are the characteristics of Islamic boarding schools, and how to instil the values of religious moderation in Islamic boarding schools. Through a phenomenological approach and reflective logic, Islamic boarding schools' responses to the dynamics of global problems increasingly appear comprehensive. Islamic boarding schools are increasingly reaffirming their identity as educational institutions that teach tolerant attitudes, respect plurality and preach the teachings of Islam as a bringer of peace. The research results show that Islamic boarding schools are worthy of being a basis for preserving the values of religious moderation through internalizing the values of Tawassut, Tawazun, I'tidal, Tasamuh, Musawah, Shura.
