Abstract

AbstractThis research aims to develop Google Sites-based learning media on the material "Economic Activities in My Region" for grade V students of science subjects at MI KH. Hasyim Asy'ari, Malang. This development is motivated by the low effectiveness of conventional learning media, which do not follow students' characteristics, and the use of technology in learning. The development model used in this study is the Lee Owens (2004) model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, and evaluation. This research is only focused on the durability of development. The results of the analysis stage show that students need learning media that is accessible, visually appealing, and appropriate to their needs. The design stage is carried out by arranging materials according to the curriculum and applying multimedia design principles according to Mayer (2009) so that the material is easier to understand. The result is an interactive learning media using Google Sites that is equipped with text, images, videos, and practice questions. This study recommends the use of Google Sites as an effective learning medium, especially in supporting more enjoyable learning. Abstract

The development of digital technology in the 21st century has significantly transformed educational practices, including Islamic Religious Education (PAI). Digital generation learners possess unique learning characteristics, such as high digital literacy, preference for interactive media, collaborative learning tendencies, and critical thinking skills. These changes require educators to develop adaptive and contextual learning approaches based on appropriate learning theories. This article aims to analyze major learning theories, including behaviorism, cognitivism, constructivism, and humanism, and examine their implications for Islamic Religious Education learning among digital generation students. This study employed a library research method by reviewing various scientific references related to learning theories, digital-era learners, and Islamic education. The findings indicate that each learning theory contributes differently to PAI learning. Behaviorism supports habit formation and discipline, cognitivism strengthens conceptual understanding, constructivism promotes active and contextual learning, while humanism emphasizes character and spiritual development. The integration of these theories into digital learning media such as interactive quizzes, educational videos, collaborative platforms, and reflective digital content can create more meaningful, engaging, and relevant Islamic learning experiences for digital generation students.

Abstract

Character education is a crucial element in the development of students at the elementary school level, where they begin to form identities and moral values. This article discusses the strategy of character education for students at the elementary school level and the urgency of integrating character education in the elementary school curriculum as an effort to form a young generation who are not only cognitively intelligent, but also have good character The method of writing this article uses the literature review method. In this method, the author searches for themes related to character education in the elementary school curriculum. Then continue by summarizing the results of related literature to find the intended results. The results of this study reveal that in the elementary school curriculum, the integration of character education can be applied through school subjects such as Civic Education (PKn) and Social Sciences. In addition, character education can also be integrated in activities in schools to build social awareness and the student environment. Character education helps students become responsible individuals and care for others and the environment, while reducing bullying behavior. Through routine activities and example, students are taught to have sensitivity to the environment and others. Thus, character education plays an important role in creating a generation that is ethical and able to face moral challenges in daily life.

Abstract

Nowadays, technology has brought a huge impact on education. This research discusses the impact of the application of digital technology on learning methods in elementary schools. Data was obtained from observations, interviews from several teachers who have applied digital technology in the learning process, secondary data from books, journals, and others. The results can be concluded that there are several positive and negative impacts of the application of digital technology in learning: 1) It makes it easier for teachers in the learning process, media and learning methods, 2) Students are easier to receive and understand material from the application of learning technology as a medium or learning method, 3) Learning becomes interactive and fun. Digital technology allows teachers to provide services without having to face students directly so that it can increase efficiency in the learning process. Negative impact: sometimes there are students who are dependent on digital technology which can lead to the loss of critical and creative thinking skills, social skills, and independent learning abilities due to searching habits and the like.

Abstract

Background: The development of twenty-first-century education requires students to possess higher-order thinking skills, particularly critical thinking, which enables them to analyze information, evaluate perspectives, and make reasoned decisions. In elementary education, the integration of interactive learning media and deep learning approaches is increasingly considered important to support meaningful learning and foster students’ cognitive development. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the role of interactive learning media in facilitating deep learning to support the development of critical thinking skills among elementary school students. Method: The study employed a mixed-method approach using a sequential explanatory design. Quantitative data were collected through a teacher perception questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. Qualitative data were subsequently used to elaborate and interpret the quantitative findings. Results: The findings indicate that interactive learning media and deep learning have not yet demonstrated a strong direct effect on students’ critical thinking skills. However, both elements function as facilitators within the learning process. The development of critical thinking skills requires the consistent integration of analytical and reflective learning activities within classroom instruction. Conclusion: Interactive learning media and deep learning should be positioned as supporting components within the broader learning ecosystem rather than as standalone determinants of critical thinking development. Their effectiveness largely depends on how teachers integrate these elements with pedagogical strategies that encourage sustained student engagement, reflection, and meaningful learning experiences.
