Abstract

Waste management in Bekasi Regency is still done conventionally through containerization, collection, transportation, and final disposal (Negara, 2020). Traditional markets contribute around 24% of the total waste, dominated by organic and inorganic waste. Kranji Baru traditional market faces obstacles such as limited treatment facilities, low user awareness, as well as the less strategic location of Temporary Storage Sites (TPS). This study analyzes the impact of waste management on air quality and user comfort (Waluyo & Pramitasari, 2023) and identifies factors that influence its effectiveness. This research uses a mixed-method method with quantitative and qualitative approaches. Measurements of temperature, humidity, and waste volume were conducted quantitatively, while observations and interviews with traders and visitors were conducted qualitatively. The study results show that the market produces an average of 1.5 tons of waste per day with a composition of 60% organic and 40% inorganic. Waste is transported twice a day, but the separation and treatment system is still not optimal. The location of the TPS on the edge of the main road causes odor pollution that disturbs users' comfort. In addition, the lack of ventilation increases humidity to 75%-85% and the market temperature reaches 30°C - 33°C, higher than the surrounding environment. 65% of visitors complained about the odor of waste, while 40% of vendors stated that high humidity affected the quality of their wares. Recommendations for this study include separation of waste at source, education for market users, relocation of TPS to a strategic location with a closed system, and improvement of ventilation and drainage systems to improve the comfort of market users.

Abstract

The increasing demand for effective public services necessitates a more efficient queue management system. This study aims to design and implement a real-time online queue application for web and mobile platforms, using the Django and Flutter frameworks, and integrating Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) as a bridge between the two platforms. The methodology applied is software engineering with a case study approach at Puspaga Harapan, Balikpapan City. The system design includes digitizing the registration, validation, consultation scheduling, and psychological reporting stages. The developed application enables users to register independently and provides administrators and psychologists with real-time access to manage client data through a responsive and secure interface. The results of the study, based on 19 respondents who assessed 15 questions via a Likert scale questionnaire, with an average percentage of 94.73%, indicate very satisfactory results. This suggests that the system improves service efficiency, speeds up the registration and consultation process, and produces more accurate report data. The development of this system can overcome various obstacles from manual systems and support digital transformation in psychological consultation services.

Abstract

The refugee problem has become one of the most pressing global challenges in contemporary international relations. Armed conflict, persecution, insecurity, and humanitarian crises have compelled millions to flee their countries of origin in search of safety and survival. In response, the international community, under the auspices of the United Nations, has established a legal framework for refugee protection, most notably through the 1951 Refugee Convention, its 1967 Protocol, and the institutional role of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Despite widespread ratification of international refugee law, implementation varies significantly among states. Many Western countries, while formally committed to international instruments, increasingly adopt restrictive asylum policies and practices such as narrow interpretations of refugee status, procedural barriers, externalization of responsibilities, and securitized approaches to protection. This study uses a qualitative doctrinal and analytical legal approach. It relies on secondary sources including international legal instruments, UNHCR documents, and peer-reviewed literature. The analysis reveals a growing gap between legal commitments and state behavior. Western asylum governance demonstrates selective and minimalist compliance with international refugee law, reflecting restrictive interpretations and practices that undermine the spirit of asylum protection. Contemporary refugee governance in the West does not represent a wholesale rejection of international law but rather a pattern of limited compliance that weakens the normative foundations of asylum rights.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze risky credit behavior among university students, focusing on the use of paylater. This behavior is measured through two main indicators: risky borrowing and risky paying. The study used an online survey distributed to 112 student respondents in Sukabumi. The results show that students in Sukabumi have a significant level of risky credit behavior, with the combined average score for the risky borrowing indicators being 57,44%. This behavior is manifested through a strong tendency to be tempted by discounts (67,68%), make impulsive purchases (54,46%), and use paylater without considering their ability to pay (50,18%). For the risky paying, it was found that for the tendency to be late in making payments was 48,57%, while for ignoring fines reached 50,71%. This indicates that a significant portion of students lack discipline in managing their debt obligations. Further analysis shows a significant difference based on gender, where female have higher scores on almost all risky behavior indicators, such as in impulsive purchases (57,46%) and the tendency to ignore fines (55,87%) compared to males. Therefore, it is suggested that university and financial service providers collaborate to improve students' financial literacy, concerning debt management and the consequences of irresponsible credit behavior.
