Abstract

AbstractThis study was aimed to improve the students’ learning outcomes by using the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model on the material subject of A Threat to the State in the Frame of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. This is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) on the class X IA I students of MAN 1 Pontianak, of which thirty-two students took part as the sample of this study. The data were collected using test and observation techniques. The data analysis was done using a statistic descriptive analysis technique. The findings showed that the implementation of the CIRC model in cycle 1 was categorized good, with a total score of 49, percentage by 76.5%, and cycle 2 was categorized very good, with a total score of 55, percentage by 85%. The learning outcomes by using the selected learning model increased by 8.5%. The percentage of completeness in students’ learning outcomes was 44% in cycle 1, with the average score by 70, and 85% in cycle 2, with the average score by 77.5. Abstract

Kata Kunci: Wawancara Klinis, Konflik Kognitif, Media Lego, Miskonsepsi   Abstract: This research aims to find out how the student’s misconception before and after treatment (clinical structured interview through cognitive conflict with lego). This Didactical Design Research consists of three steps, (1) Design Didactical Analysis, (2) Metapedadidaktik Analysis, and (3) Retrosfektif. The sample of this research were 4 students of class VII G SMP Negeri 5 Pontianak. One pre-test was initially held to know the students’ prior knowledge, afterwards, two consecutive post-tests were held in order know the success of the treatment and the significant effect of the treatment respectively. This research found 10 misconceptions when the pretest was held. Likewise 1 misconception was found when the first posttest was held, however no misconception was found when the second posttest was held. Since misconception in every subject was decreased, in first posttest was 91.67% and in second posttest was 100%, it means clinical structured interview through cognitive conflict with lego can overcome student’s misconception on fraction operation.   Kaywords: clinical interview, cognitive conflict, LEGO, misconception

Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to analyze the effect of using manipulative media on the ability of mathematical representation of students in flat wake symmetry material in class V Pontianak City 66 State Elementary School. The method used is the experimental method, a quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. The population and sample in this study were all fifth grade students of Pontianak City 66 State Elementary School. The data collection tool used in the form of an Essay test consisted of 5 questions. Based on data analysis, the average post-test results of the experimental class were 82.63 while the average post-test results of the control class were 59.15. The results of the t test are obtained tcount 9.0298 and t table α = 5% (with dk = 33 + 32 - 2 = 63) of 1.9990, which means tcount (9.1031)> t table (1.9990), then the hypothesis alternative (Ha) is accepted. From the results of the calculation of the effect size (ES) ES obtained was 2.5 (high criteria). It can be concluded that manipulative media have a good influence on the mathematical representation ability of students in class V of Pontianak City 66 State Elementary School. Keywords: Flat Symmetry, Manipulative Media, Mathematical Representation Ability.

Abstract

AbstractThis research aimed to analyze the influence of Problem Based Learning model towards the learning outcomes in Mathematics subject of fourth grade students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 34 Pontianak Kota.. The method used in this study was Quasi Experiment Design research using nonequivalent control group design. The population was all fourth grade students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 34 Pontianak Kota,  Sampling was using Purposive Sampling technique, namely IVC class and IVD class at Sekolah Dasar Negeri 34 Pontianak Kota. Based on the data analysis, the results of the post-test average of students in the control class were 56.25 and the results of the post-test average of students in the experimental class were 69.81. After t test is obtained tcount 2.338 while t table is 1.999, it turns out tcount ≥ ttable or 2.389 ≥ 1.999 which means that there is a significant effect on the application of Problem Based models Learning. The results of the effect size data calculation from the both experimental and control classes were 0,557. This means that the application of the Problem Based Learning model has a moderate influence on the mathematics learning outcomes of fourth grade students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri 34 Pontianak Kota. Keywords: Hasil Belajar, Matematika, Model PBL

Abstract

AbstractThis research wants to look at learning difficulties and the cause of learning difficulties for autistic chidren in the addition and subtraction of whole number in SMPLB Bina Anak Bangsa Pontianak. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Subject in this research were 3 out of 5 children with class IX SMPLB Bina Anak Bangsa Pontianak selected based on test results. The object of this research is the learning difficulties experienced by children with autism. Data collection techniques using observation, written tests and interviews. Data collection tools such as observation sheets, learning outcomes tests and interview guidelines to explore deeper the difficulties and causes of learning difficulties for autistic children. The results showed the learning difficulties of autistic children who appeared in mathematics learning the addition and subtraction of whole numbers 1) difficulty in the concept of the addition of identities, 2) difficulty in the concept of subtraction using the countdown method, 3) difficulties in using borrowing methods in reduction operations, 4) difficulty in understanding questions in the form of stories. The cause of learning difficulties in learning mathematics is the addition and subtraction of whole numbers 1) the lack of variations of housing questions given, 2) the lack of practice questions in the borrowing method, 3) the story problems in the learning of the addition of enumeration numbers are less relevant, and 4) the teacher gives a less varied practice of story questions. Keywords: Alphabetic Order, Bold, Capitalize Each Word, Font 11
