Abstract

Industrial water consumption will account for 22% of global water demand by 2030. Industry water conservation is encouraged by rapid corporate growth. Industrial resource usage and pollutant emissions can be reduced via cleaner production methods. Recycling is essential to greener production and the circular economy. Recycling is crucial to achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The electric vehicle (EV) sector has propelled battery business growth in recent years, especially in Indonesia. The electric vehicle (EV) sector will benefit from using Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries. The study will use reverse osmosis (RO) membrane filtration to recover water from recovered NMC battery effluent. The experiment will investigate feed solution concentrations, pressures (8, 10, and 12 bar), and temperatures (30, 40, and 50°C). Two factors—permeate flux and metal ion rejection—determine reverse osmosis membrane efficiency. Li and Na metal rejection was maximum at 30°C and 12 bar, with 94-96% and 90-93% rejection rates, respectively. Under certain operating conditions, reverse osmosis membrane technology significantly reduced sodium (Na) concentration in NMC battery recycling effluent. Thus, wastewater is no longer saline. Reverse osmosis water can be reused for cooling due to its Li and Na concentrations.

Abstract

In recent years, various environmentally friendly adsorbents have been developed to address the removal of heavy metals from industrial wastewater. This study focuses on the adsorption of lead (Pb) and copper (Cu) using cellulose xanthate derived from sugarcane bagasse as an adsorbent. The adsorption experiments were conducted in a fixed-bed column with dimensions of 2.4 cm in diameter and 8 cm in height. Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) was used to analyze the concentrations of Pb and Cu before and after adsorption, while the adsorbent composition was characterized using X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF). The breakthrough times for Pb and Cu adsorption was found to be 8 and 6 minutes, respectively, with total adsorption durations of 18.584 and 17.543 minutes. The Thomas Model was employed to evaluate the kinetics and adsorption capacity, yielding kinetic constants (KTH) of 0.00283 and 0.0006 mL/mg.min for Pb and Cu, respectively, and adsorption capacities (qeq) of 712.89 and 181.18 mg/g. These results provide valuable insights into the adsorbents efficiency, kinetics, and potential applications in environmental remediation and wastewater treatment.

Abstract

UKM tempe Rejomakmur sebagai mitra dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat berlokasi di RT 02/ RW 06 Desa Bandungrejo Kecamatan Mranggen Kabupaten Demak Provinsi Jawa Tengah dan sebagai objek permasalahan dalam kegiatan ini adalah limbah cair dari produksi tempe. Permasalahan yang tengah dialami oleh mitra adalah minimnya pengetahuan tentang pengolahan limbah cair dari industri tempe, limbah cair dari UKM Rejomakmur tempe adalah belum terolah secara baik sehingga mencemari sungai jika dibuang secara langsung. Kegiatan ini bertujuan menyediakan teknologi tepat guna untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan tersebut, yaitu teknologi ultrafiltrasi (UF) yang terintegrasi menuju zero waste. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dibagi dalam beberapa tahapan, meliputi koordinasi dengan masyarakat, sosialisasi tentang air bersih kepada masyarakat, instalasi unit UF, dan training penggunaan alat. Hasil uji pengolahan limbah cair dengan teknologi UF menunjukkan bahwa produk air memenuhi standar baku mutu air bersih. Unit terintegrasi UF mampu menurunkan tingkat kekeruhan limbah hingga dan menurunkan BOD. Unit UF dapat diintegrasikan dengan pengolahan limbah cair untuk menghasilkan limbah cair yang lebih jernih. Teknologi ini dapat dijadikan sebagai alternatif teknologi ramah lingkungan untuk pengolahan air dan limbah cair industri.

Abstract

Aiming for recovery and kinetics of manganese from hydrocracking spent catalyst using citric acid, this study has been conducted. In order to justify the performance of citric acid, a comparative study has been conducted using both inorganic and organic acids in the same pH condition of about 1,5 - 2. pH was used as the controlled variable due to the different dissociation degree of the acids. In comparison to that of inorganic acid, the manganese recovery is four times higher when citric acid was applied. Acetic acid performed 33% lower in manganese recovery compared to the citric acid. Moreover, kinetics study was conducted with three varying temperature of 30C, 60C, and 90C. From the resulted data, it can be concluded that the kinetics of mengan leaching from spent catalyst using citric acid is in accordance to the shrinking core model. The controlling step is product diffusion with activation energy (Ea) of about 23.27 kJ/mol calculated using Arrhenius expression. With higher selectivity and leaching reagent which is harmless to the environment, the application of citric acid in manganese leaching from spent catalyst will indeed support the enactment of sustainable development aspect in recycle processing

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) berbantuan media gambar untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa sekolah dasar. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa yang disebabkan oleh metode pembelajaran konvensional yang kurang melibatkan siswa secara aktif. Model STAD dipilih karena mendorong adanya kolaborasi, tanggung jawab kelompok, dan partisipasi aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Penggunaan media gambar sebagai alat peraga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konseptual dan memotivasi siswa untuk belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas V SD Bani Saleh. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes hasil belajar, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model STAD berbantuan media gambar meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa secara signifikan. Terjadi peningkatan nilai rata-rata siswa pada setiap siklus, disertai peningkatan aktivitas dan partisipasi siswa selama pembelajaran. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran STAD berbantuan media gambar terbukti efektif dan direkomendasikan untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran di sekolah dasar guna meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran dan prestasi belajar siswa.

Abstract

Employee performance plays a crucial role in supporting the effectiveness of government institutions, especially in the public health sector. Recognizing the importance of maintaining high employee performance, this study aims to examine the influence of workload, emotional intelligence, and work communication on employee performance at the Secretariat of the Directorate General of Health Personnel of the Republic of Indonesia. Employing a quantitative method with saturated sampling involving 125 employees, data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS software. The results show that workload (β = 0.220, p = 0.017), emotional intelligence (β = 0.230, p = 0.020), and work communication (β = 0.251, p = 0.010) each have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Furthermore, the model explains 34.4% of the variation in performance (R² = 0.344). These findings suggest that managing workload balance, strengthening emotional intelligence, and enhancing communication systems are strategic approaches to improving employee performance. This research provides practical insights for public sector human resource development and highlights the need for future studies to explore additional influencing factors such as leadership style, motivation, and organizational culture.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat apakah ada hubungan regulasi emosi dengan interaksi sosial pada mahasiswa penikmat drama Korea di Universitas Malikussaleh. Responden penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Universitas Malikussaleh yang berjumlah 199 mahasiswa. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan skala regulasi emosi yang berjumlah 24 item dan skala interaksi sosial yang berjumlah 25 item. Analisis data menggunakan korelasi spearman dengan hasil korelasi menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan mengarah ke arah yang positif. Artinya, semakin baik tingkat regulasi emosi maka semakin baik pula tingkat interaksi sosial pada mahasiswa penikmat drama Korea di Universitas Malikussaleh.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran intensi menyontek pada mahasiswa di Universitas X. Penelitian ini merupakan deskriptif kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu mahasiswa aktif di Universitas X dari tahun 2016 sampai 2020 berjumlah 205 subjek. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Uji instrumen yang digunakan adalah uji validitas dengan teknik corrected item-total correlation dan uji reliabilitas menggunakan teknik Alpha Cronbach. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensi menyontek pada mahasiswa di Universitas X berada pada kategori negatif. Hal ini memiliki makna bahwa mahasiswa di Universitas X, memiliki attitudes toward the bahavioral yang negatif dimana mahasiswa menilai perilaku menyontek merupakan perbuatan yang tidak baik. Kemudian subjective norm yang dipandang negatif, membuat mahasiswa merasakan tekanan sosial untuk menghindari perilaku menyontek. Ketika attitudes toward the bahavioral dan subjective norm dinilai negatif maka perceived behavioral control yang dirasakan akan kecil, sehingga intensi untuk melakukan menyontek akan negatif. Saran untuk peneliti selanjutnya dapat menggunakan metode kuantitatif dua variabel dan dapat menambah variabel kontrol diri dalam fenomena menyontek yang terjadi di mahasiswa.

Abstract

Geothermal slag is a by-product of the geothermal power generation process, but its added value is minimal. With a silica content of up to 70%, geothermal slag has potential as a secondary silicon source for battery silicon anode precursors. Usually, the synthesis of nano-silica was carried out through the sol-gel method, in which HCl is usually used as a modifier to regulate the physical and chemical properties of the material. But in this study chose citric acid for modifier agent because it is more environmentally friendly. The challenge of using citric acid is the formation of carbon-based salts that can cause silica blackening if not washed well. Therefore, optimization was done by adjusting the pH to produce high-purity nano-silica. The sol-gel process was carried out by adding 10% NaOH and 5N Citric Acid, with varying pH base conditions from 8 to 11. XRF analysis results showed the highest purity at pH 8. Impurities were still visible based on XRD data, and the formation of nanoparticles was confirmed through morphological analysis using FESEM and TEM where the average particle size formed is between 55 nm.

Abstract

The development of the bank accompanied by an increasingly advanced model of channeling funds, one of which is carried out by Islamic banks, is one of the solutions to help the community's economy, especially in Sukamulya Lempasing Village. The study focuses on the system and perspective of sharia economic law in the distribution of Islamic bank funds to the community in Suka Mulya Lempasing Village.  The purpose of this study is to find out the system and perspective of Islamic economic law are adopted there.  The study is conducted by field research with data collection, one of which is an interview. Then it is analyzed using descriptive analysis with an inductive thinking approach.  The results of the research can be concluded that the system of channeling funds or Islamic bank financing in Suka Mulya Lempasing Village, Teluk Pandan District, Pesawaran Regency uses financing with a joint liability system (Tanggung Renteng).  From the perspective of sharia economic law, the fund distribution system implemented in Sukamulya Lempasing Village, the system of shared obligations (Tanggung Renteng), is in accordance with the principle of Muamalah, namely Kafalah.  In which a commitment is formed to work together and be responsible between one member to another in the event of arrears of installments by one of the members.
