Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal's leadership management strategy in improving the quality of educator performance at SDN 15 Banyuasin III. The study focuses on the principal's actions in managing school resources, distributing teacher workloads fairly, and empowering teachers to improve professionalism and learning quality. This study uses a qualitative method with a naturalistic descriptive approach. The research subjects comprised one principal and 12 teachers who served as key informants. The data was collected through in-depth interviews, direct observation for 1 month (December 20, 2024–January 20, 2025), and analysis of school documents. Data were analyzed thematically to identify patterns of leadership strategies applied. The results show that the principal applies a transformational and participatory leadership style by conducting routine training at least twice a semester, conducting academic supervision every month, providing constructive feedback after the learning process, and empowering teachers through personal mentoring. The main obstacles faced include limited technology-based learning facilities, high teacher administrative workloads, and resistance from some teachers to change. However, principals can overcome these challenges through adaptive strategies, such as collaborating with the school committee, flexibly dividing tasks, and optimizing the school budget. These findings confirm that effective principal leadership is crucial in creating a productive work environment and driving sustainable improvements in educator performance.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the Excellence Class program as an effort to improve the quality of education at SD Negeri Sungai Nepal. The Excellence Class is a strategic initiative designed to provide enriched learning experiences, foster students’ potential, and create a competitive academic atmosphere. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with school leaders, teachers, students, and parents, supported by classroom observations and document analysis. The findings reveal that the Excellence Class has contributed significantly to enhancing students’ academic achievement, critical thinking skills, and motivation to learn. Teachers reported improved classroom management and the ability to implement innovative learning strategies that align with the independent curriculum. Furthermore, parental involvement increased through regular communication and collaborative activities, which strengthened the school–community partnership. Despite these positive outcomes, several challenges remain, including limited learning resources, varying teacher readiness, and the need for continuous professional development to maintain program sustainability. The study concludes that the Excellence Class program serves as an effective model for improving educational quality when supported by strong leadership, adequate resources, and active stakeholder participation. Recommendations include regular program evaluation, targeted teacher training, and increased investment in learning facilities to ensure long-term success and replicability in other schools.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of learning motivation and learning facilities on the English learning outcomes of junior high school students in the Alang Alang Lebar District, Palembang City. The background of the research highlights the importance of English proficiency as a 21st-century skill that requires both internal and external support factors. Learning motivation, which includes intrinsic and extrinsic drives, is believed to increase students’ interest and active participation in the learning process. Meanwhile, learning facilities such as adequate classrooms, audio-visual equipment, and access to digital learning media serve as significant supporting factors. This research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students from several junior high schools in the Alang Alang Lebar area. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression to examine the effect of each independent variable on English learning outcomes. The findings reveal that learning motivation has a positive and significant effect on English achievement. Learning facilities also contribute substantially to improving students’ academic performance. Furthermore, the combination of high motivation and adequate facilities leads to greater improvements in English scores. These results emphasize that successful learning depends not only on teachers’ instructional methods but also on motivational support and sufficient resources. The study recommends that schools and policymakers enhance programs that foster motivation and upgrade learning facilities as strategic efforts to improve the quality of students’ English learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the impact of a principal’s visionary leadership strategy on school performance, specifically by examining the implementation of the school’s vision and mission through the lens of the Indonesian Education Report Card at SD Negeri 14 Kayuagung. A qualitative case study was conducted, employing document analysis of the 2024 Education Report Card data and strategic school planning documents to assess outcomes linked to leadership actions. The analysis focused on key performance indicators including literacy, numeracy, character, learning quality, and school safety climate. The implementation of visionary leadership, characterized by strategic planning, resource organization, and school-based management, correlated with a significant improvement of 6.66% in both literacy and numeracy indicators. Positive trends were also observed in character and learning quality. However, a slight decrease of 0.46% in the school safety climate indicator was identified, revealing a critical area of concern despite overall academic progress. The findings underscore the necessity for school principals to adopt integrated leadership strategies that not only drive academic and character development through a clear vision and collaborative management but also proactively monitor and strengthen the school’s safety and emotional climate to ensure holistic improvement. This study provides an empirical, data-driven examination of how visionary leadership operationalizes institutional vision into measurable outcomes within the specific framework of Indonesia's national Education Report Card. It contributes a nuanced understanding by highlighting that even within a successful leadership model, advancements in academic indicators can coincide with overlooked declines in school safety, offering a critical perspective for comprehensive school evaluation.
