This research aims to determine the implementation of promotional strategy activities, obstacles, and solutions at Captain Zack tourist attraction. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method approach. The data collection process was obtained through passive participatory observation and structured interviews with companies and visitors, while supporting data was obtained through documentation. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model with steps including data collection, data reduction, data presentation and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate that Captain Zack has carried out six elements of promotional strategies, namely advertising, face-to-face sales, sales promotion, publicity, direct marketing and word of mouth. There are several indicators in promotional strategy activities that have not been carried out optimally, especially in social media management. Abstract

This study investigates the English proficiency levels, perceptions, and pedagogical competencies of pre-service English teachers who graduated from one of the teacher education universities in Indonesia, along with stakeholder evaluations and future quality benchmarks. This research employed a mixed-methods case study approach, with data collected from TOEFL-like test score reports and a survey involving 52 pre-service teachers, two classroom observations, interviews with two employers, and focus group discussions (FGD) involving four stakeholders from other teacher education universities. Score report and survey data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, while observation notes, employers interviews, and FGD data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings from the report revealed that most pre-service teachers possessed B2 or higher English proficiency. The survey result showed that they valued courses on English for Young Learners and general pedagogy clusters, though several courses on the English for Specific Purposes cluster were perceived as less supportive. Classroom observations and employer feedback revealed strong pedagogical competencies, creative use of resources, and technology integration abilities, while also indicating the need for future improvement. Additionally, FGD results emphasized the need for pre-service teachers to master TPACK, obtain standardized English certification, develop leadership skills, possess AI ethico-onto-epistemological awareness, and demonstrate competence in multiliteracies and multimodal pedagogies.

Abstract

The SME “Ma Utik” is a household industry in Cilembu Village, Sumedang Regency, West Java, specializing in processing Cilembu cassava into chips. Despite its market potential, the SME faces challenges including limited production capacity, informal supplier partnerships, and ineffective marketing. This study aims to formulate strategies for the issue discussed by identifying supply chain conditions, evaluating business performance using key performance indicators (KPIs), and determining strategic priorities based on their influence within the system. A descriptive qualitative method was applied using three analytical approaches: Hayami analysis to measure cost efficiency and value added; KPI evaluation to assess five aspects—production, marketing, raw material supply, human resources, and finance; and the Analytical Network Process (ANP) to prioritize business improvement strategies. The results show that Ma Utik’s business system remains simple and unstandardized, with primary issues in production and marketing. Most performance indicators are still at the initial to intermediate stages, falling short of established targets. ANP findings highlight three key strategic indicators: distribution reach, process efficiency, and cassava raw material availability. The highest-priority strategy, with a score of 0.16, is Strategy C—developing digital marketing channels (e-commerce and social media). This strategy is deemed most relevant to expanding market reach and enhancing product competitiveness.

Abstract

Coffee is a highly demanded product and a key commodity in Indonesia due to its significant market value and contribution to the country's foreign exchange. The majority of coffee plantations are found in highland areas, particularly in West Lampung Regency, which produced approximately 56,054 tons of coffee in 2022. However, coffee production has been declining due to low productivity and quality. One major issue is the limited knowledge of coffee farmers in West Lampung about diseases affecting coffee plants, leading to improper treatment. Another challenge is the lack of experts to guide farmers in managing and treating coffee diseases effectively. To address these problems, an expert system is needed to provide information and solutions for dealing with coffee diseases. This system incorporates expert knowledge into a computerized platform to assist in diagnosing coffee plant diseases. The system is developed using the waterfall method and employs forward chaining and classic probability algorithms to diagnose diseases and calculate the accuracy of results. Users can diagnose based on symptoms and receive treatment recommendations. This web-based expert system aims to assist farmers in early disease diagnosis and provide appropriate solutions for managing coffee diseases

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the differences between the PjBL and Direct instruction models and learning styles on fashion design learning outcomes. This quantitative research uses experimental methods. Researchers used SPSS 25 to calculate a two-way analysis of variance test. The research design used is a 2x3 factorial design. Because this research was conducted in four classes, namely 2 experimental classes and 2 control classes. The experimental class was treated with the PjBL Model while the control class was given the Direct Instruction learning method. Each control class and experimental class were divided into three groups, namely audio, visual and kinaesthetic groups. The data analysis technique in this research is two-way analysis of variance with a significance level of α = 5%. Based on the results of data analysis, there is a significant influence between the PjBL Model and learning styles on Sewing Learning Outcomes. Based on the research results, it was concluded that the use of the PjBL Model and Learning Styles can improve Fashion Design Learning Outcomes.

Abstract

Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD), also known as Gumboro disease, is an acute, highly contagious disease that infects chickens and causes a high mortality rate of up to 100% in young animals. The disease is caused by Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV) of the genus Avibirnavirus, family Birnaviridae. The disease has been reported in Indonesia since 1976, and management strategies for the disease, such as vaccination, have been applied to prevent and control outbreaks in poultry farms. In this study, we conducted the detection of the disease in chickens from a farm in West Java with a mortality rate of 80%. Chickens showing clinical signs, such as sudden death, anorexia, watery diarrhea, and ruffled feathers, were necropsied, and organ samples, including the bursa Fabricius, brain, and spleen, were collected. The samples were then tested using Reverse-Transcriptase Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) to confirm the diagnosis of IBD. Positive results were obtained in this study, highlighting the need for improved biosecurity in poultry farms in Indonesia. These results also provided a basis for further research on viral characterization to develop detection kits or vaccines for IBD using local isolates from the field in Indonesia.
