Abstract

Tulisan ini mendiskusikan tentang dinastiisme dalam Pemilihan Umum Kepala Daerah yang dilatarbelakangi oleh kehadiran anggota keluarga petahana dalam Pemilukada. Dinastiisme merupakan istilah yang digunakan penulis untuk menggambarkan tentang isme atau aliran dalam dinasti politik, dengan demikian pemaknaan dinastiisme petahana, dalam tulisan ini, merupakan istilah lain dari dinasti politik petahana. Selanjutnya dilakukan diskursus melalui beberpa konsep: Demokrasi, dominasi elit, serta pemilu.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK) yang semakin pesat dalam usaha mengefektifkan layanan kepada masyarakat harus dilakukan sampai pada tingkat Desa. Teknologi informasi yang tercanggih sekalipun tidak ada yang mengoperasikan, maka akibatnya sistem informasi tidak berjalan maksimal. Penelitian dengan pendekatan metode kualitatif dengan lokasi penelitian di Desa Ciburial di Kabupaten Bandung. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan cara wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam pelayanan publik di era digital 4.0 di Desa Ciburial berupaya dilakukan semaksimal mungkin walaupun belum mampu berdampak ke masyarakat secara signifikan dan masih mengalami beberapa hambatan, salah satunya yaitu belum integrasinya data. Diperlukan kerja sama antara pemerintah daerah dengan aparat desa sehingga menghasilkan sistem yang terintegrasi satu sama lainnya. Sistem yang sekarang dapat menjadi dasar untuk pengembangan sesuai dengan perubahan peraturan dari peraturan yang lama menjadi baru.

Abstract

Bedegung Waterfall is a well-known natural tourism destination located in Bedegung Village, Muara Enim Regency, offering beautiful scenery and a prominent waterfall. Despite its popularity, the ticket booking process is still conducted manually, resulting in long queues, slow transactions, service delays, and traffic congestion around the tourist area, which reduces visitor comfort and management efficiency. To address these issues, this study proposes developing a web-based ticket-booking application to streamline transactions and enhance tourism service quality. The system was designed and developed using the Extreme Programming (XP) software development method to ensure flexibility, rapid development, and effective collaboration. The application was implemented using the Laravel framework, PHP as the programming language, and MySQL as the database management system, due to its reliability in handling large volumes of data. System design was supported by Flowcharts, Use Case Diagrams, Class Diagrams, Activity Diagrams, and Entity-Relationship Diagrams (ERDs) to clearly describe system workflows and data relationships. The objective of this research is to design, implement, and evaluate a web-based ticket booking system that improves transaction efficiency, reduces queues, and enhances visitor convenience. The system supports three user roles: Super Admin, Tourist Staff, and Member, each with distinct access rights and functionalities. System testing was conducted using the Black-Box Testing method to evaluate functional suitability against user requirements. A total of 37 testing scenarios were executed across all user roles, and the results showed that all system functions operated as expected, achieving a 100% testing success rate, indicating that the developed application is effective and feasible for implementation at Bedegung Waterfall.

Abstract

This study evaluates the adequacy of the narrative model text “Sangkuriang” from a ninth-grade English textbook in supporting writing skill development under Indonesia’s Emancipated Curriculum. Narrative texts play a significant role in fostering students’ creativity, coherence, and communicative competence. Employing the Genre-Based Approach (GBA) and the Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) Transitivity framework, this qualitative study analyzes the text’s generic structure and linguistic features to determine its pedagogical suitability. The findings indicate that the text fulfills the structural components of a narrative genre—orientation, complication, and resolution—and demonstrates a meaningful distribution of material, mental, and relational processes, which are essential for constructing narrative meaning. These linguistic patterns support the development of students’ ability to produce organized and contextually appropriate written texts. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative evaluation of a textbook model text through the combined application of GBA and SFL Transitivity analysis within the framework of the Emancipated Curriculum. Unlike previous research that primarily focuses on students’ writing outcomes or the effectiveness of genre-based instruction, this study critically examines the linguistic adequacy of the model text itself as a pedagogical scaffold. The findings contribute to bridging curriculum goals, genre pedagogy, and functional linguistic analysis in evaluating instructional materials for secondary education.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran kepemimpinan kharismatik dalam implementasi nilai-nilai pesantren di pondok pesantren Yasfi Kampung Sawah Kecamatan Pondok Melati Kota Bekasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data primer bersumber dari pimpinan pondok, guru dan santri. Kiai karismatik memiliki peran strategis dalam upaya mengembangkan. Kiai dijadikan panutan oleh masyarakat di dalam pondok maupun di luar pondok. karakter kepemimpinan kyai yang kharimatik, di antarannya: 1) Idealisasi Pengaruh (Idealized Influence), seorang kyai mempunyai pengaruhi terhadap, yaitu: (a) envisioning (memvisikan); (b) energizing (pemberian energi); dan (c) enabling (memampukan). Envisioning (memvisikan). 2) Motivasi inspirasional, sebagai seorang pemimpin memerlukan gaya dan keterampilan tingkat tinggi.. 3) Konsederasi Individual, Seorang Kyai dapat mempunyai pengaruh pada kelompok dalam kelompok itu. 4) Stimulasi Intelektual, kelebihannya intektual cenderung menunjukkan bobot rasa tanggung jawab yang cukup besar. Implementasi nilai-nilai pesantren di era revolusi teknologi 4.0, sebut adalah sebagai berikut: a) Nilai Akhlak terhadap Allah dengan cara mengerjakan sholat lima waktu berjamaah; Shalat lima waktu merupakan media komunikasi antara munusia dengan Allah Swt, karena syarat sahnya shalat yaitu berakal dan sudah baliqh. b) Buka Puasa Sunnah Bersama. Kegiatan ini diprogramkan sebanyak 1 kali selama setiap bulannya dengan pembagian penanggung jawab pelaksana per kelas.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran berbahasa di kalangan guru dan siswa, dalam rangka mendukung kebijakan nasional tentang pencegahan dan penanganan kekerasan di lingkungan satuan pendidikan. Fokus kegiatan ini adalah penyelenggaran pelatihan sebagai bagian dari Gerakan Bijak Berbahasa dalam upaya preventif perundungan dan kekerasan verbal di lingkungan sekolah. Kegiatan ini tergolong mendesak, mengingat meningkatnya insiden yang terkait dengan penggunaan bahasa yang tidak sesuai dan berpotensi mengarah pada tindakan kekerasan verbal yang berkembang menjadi perundungan, kekerasan fisik dan seksual. Pelatihan Gerakan Bijak Berbahasa ini dilaksanakan dengan dua moda: luring di Balai Guru Penggerak Bali dan daring melalui aplikasi Zoom, yang melibatkan para guru penggerak pengajar bahasa Inggris di tingkat sekolah menengah pertama di Provinsi Bali. Pelatihan berlangsung secara lancar sesuai dengan rencana dan diapresiasi secara positif oleh para guru. Guru berhasil membuat media visual kampanye berupa poster gerakan bijak berbahasa yang dapat dipasang atau disebarluaskan di lingkungan sekolah mereka. Guru yang ditunjuk sebagai duta gerakan bijak berbahasa juga berhasil melaksanakan kampanye mandiri dengan fokus pada anti perundungan yang disiarkan langsung di media sosial. Gerakan bijak berbahasa ini perlu dikembangkan dan disosialisasikan ke para pendidik dan peserta didik untuk menumbuhkan kesadaraan kolektif membangun lingkungan pendidikan yang aman dan harmonis.

Abstract

An argumentative essay is one of the most difficult types of writing for university students, especially in constructing sentences that are logical, cohesive, and coherent, which is called a logico-semantic relation in systematics functional linguistics (SFL). Thus, the objective of this research was to find out the logico-semantic relations manifest in the argumentative essays crafted by university students and a teacher's perspectives on the use of logico-semantic relations in students’ writing. The analysis showed that the essay comprised 10 clause complexes and exhibited logico-semantic relations, as evidenced by the identification of expansion and projection relations. The data on expansion relation revealed that out of 10 clause complexes, 5 clauses 50% had elaboration relations, 3 clauses 30% had enhancement relations, and 2 clauses 20% had extension relations. Among 10 clauses, 3 belonged to the category of idea projection marked by words such as “debate, find out, thinking, based on”, while 2 belonged to the category of locution projection marked by words “tell, say”, and the remaining two clauses did not belong to any category of projection. Concerning the interview, the teacher possessed a solid comprehension of the concept of logico-semantic relations, which are the techniques of linking clauses or sentences to convey the logical and semantic meanings of the text. The teacher also emphasized the importance of logico-semantic relations for attaining cohesion and coherence in academic writing.

Abstract

The research problem shows that the evaluation of Islamic Religious Education learning is still dominated by the cognitive aspect, which limits its ability to measure affective and psychomotor aspects, and has not been optimal in improving the overall quality of teachers’ instruction. This study aims to determine the influence of formative and summative evaluation, as well as learning motivation, on the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education teachers’ teaching methods in the overall learning process. The method used is quantitative research with an experimental approach through questionnaires distributed to 80 Islamic Religious Education teachers. The data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 27, with a two-way analysis of variance to examine the influence of evaluation and learning motivation. The results show that evaluation methods and learning motivation have a significant influence on the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education teachers’ instruction, with a significance value of 0.000, an evaluation value of 128.808, and a motivation value of 39.366. In addition, there is a significant interaction effect (41.473), indicating that the effect of evaluation depends on the level of motivation. Summative evaluation is generally more effective at measuring learning outcomes than formative evaluation, whereas formative evaluation is more effective for teachers with high motivation. In conclusion, adjusting formative and summative evaluation based on learning motivation improves the effectiveness of Islamic Religious Education learning and optimally and measurably enhances the quality of teachers’ instruction. The significance of this study lies in its theoretical and practical contributions to the development of more holistic Islamic Religious Education evaluation and to the continuous improvement of teacher competence through professional development.

Abstract

The rise of AI in recent times has significantly impacted the translation industry, igniting discussions about the respective roles of AI-driven machine translation and human expertise. However, the effectiveness of AI and machine translation in translating literary works remains a topic of debate, as literary translation should be linguistically accurate and preserve nuance, emotion, and cultural context. This study aims to observe the result of AI, Machine Translation, and humans in translating the short story entitled The Story of An Hour. This study analyses the translation method used by AI, Machine Translation (MT), and Human (HT) to translate a short story. Moreover, this research also determines the quality of the translation results from AI, MT, and HT. The research method used is qualitative and quantitaive. The data are collected from document analysis to observe the translation methods based on Newmark and questionnaire from Sutopo & Setya Budi to assess the quality of literary translation results. The research objects are the translation results of Chat GPT, DeepL, and human translator taken from fiksi lotus. The translation results are assessed concerning the accuracy, the sense of literature, acceptability, and readability. The results show that the significant translation methods applied in AI and machine translation are literal, faithful, communicative, and semantic translations. However, a human translator uses free translation, adaptation, and communicative translation. The quality result shows that human translators get higher accuracy, acceptability, sense of literature, and readability.

Abstract

The issue in elementary school students' written communication lies in the urgent recognition of proficient writing as a critical factor for academic and personal development. Utilizing a Systemic Functional Linguistics (SFL) framework, the study investigates the mood system in descriptive text writing, particularly honing in on a 5th-grade student's work. The findings shed light on a notable gap in existing literature, emphasizing the scarcity of studies applying SFL to explore the mood system in the context of elementary school students' descriptive text writing. The research seeks to bridge this void by examining how young learners employ mood and subsequently provides valuable insights for tailored writing instruction. The methodology section outlines a qualitative approach and textual analysis, employing SFL to categorize linguistic elements to understand mood choices comprehensively. The results reveal a predominant use of the indicative mood, specifically the declarative subtype, and strategic tense variations contributing to overall coherence and temporal nuances. Understanding interpersonal grammar proves indispensable for language instruction, enriching language expression, and empowering students to articulate positions, navigate power dynamics, and construct critical responses. In conclusion, the study recommends that educators capitalize on students' inclination towards declarative statements and strategically use tenses to enhance temporal narratives, enriching language instruction in elementary schools.
