Abstract

Rejang Lebong Regency is one of the main coffee-producing regions in Indonesia, with great potential to increase coffee productivity and added value. However, coffee management in this area still faces various challenges, such as low production efficiency, lack of application of modern technology, and hesitant market access and policy support. This study purposed to determine the causes of the low income and welfare of coffee farmers in Rejang Lebong Regency and as a promotion and branding of coffee in Rejang Lebong Regency that has not been recognized at the national and international levels. The method used included descriptive research, which explained factual phenomena conceptually, with data collection through surveys. The results showed that greater efforts or strengths are still required to overcome various kinds of weaknesses and utilize existing opportunities to overcome obstacles. The research recommended the integration of community-based coffee development programs and policy support from the local government to create a sustainable coffee management system. Optimizing coffee management in Rejang Lebong Regency is expected to encourage the improvement of farmers' welfare, environmental sustainability, and the strengthening of the regional economy.

Abstract

The thematic community service (Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik) Group 29 from Universitas Dehasen Bengkulu (Period III, 2025) was conducted in Air Kering 1 Village (Padang Guci Hilir District, Kaur Regency, Bengkulu). The project aimed to optimize environmental management and community empowerment. The main issues identified were the lack of an integrated waste management system, low public awareness of cleanliness, and limited educational/religious activities for youth. The implementation involved cleaning riverbanks, constructing a communal waste bin, organizing religious literacy activities (communal prayers and Quranic study), and planting avocado seedlings; all activities were carried out participatively with villagers. Results showed a cleaner river, an operational waste bin, 40 avocado trees planted, and increased religious and social activities. Consequently, villagers’ environmental awareness improved, and social ties were strengthened. The program effectively addressed the identified problems, particularly waste management and community cohesion. In conclusion, this community service contributed positively to environmental cleanliness and social harmony. Recommendations include sustaining the waste management program and providing further training in waste handling and organic farming.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of utilizing plastic waste from Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) as a creative collage medium to increase environmental awareness among early childhood students. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental method with a pretest-posttest control group design, this research involved 8 children aged 5–12 years from two early childhood education institutions in Bengkulu. The experimental group received environmental education using creative collages made from MSME plastic waste, while the control group used conventional media. Data were collected using an environmental awareness scale and analyzed using paired and independent t-tests. The results showed a significant increase in the environmental awareness scores of the experimental group compared to the control group (p < 0.05). This study concludes that integrating recycled materials from MSME plastic waste into creative learning activities significantly enhances environmental consciousness among young children.

Abstract

Sustainable waste management, such as waste sorting and processing, among the community. This condition is exacerbated by the behavior of throwing waste without sorting, piling, and burning which damages the environment. Effective waste management should start from the source by implementing the 3R concept (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle), which relies heavily on active community participation. Objectives and Methods: This community service program aims to increase awareness and facilitate household-based waste management practices in RT 30 RW 05, Betungan Village. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach supported by simple quantitative data. The subjects of the service are heads of families and housewives. Data were collected through questionnaires (pre-test and post-test), observation sheets, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The implementation procedure includes preparation, implementation (socialization, education, waste sorting and composting training, mentoring, monitoring), and evaluation and reporting. Data analysis was carried out using simple quantitative methods to compare the pre-test and post-test, as well as thematic qualitative methods for interviews and observations. Results and Conclusions: This PKM activity succeeded in showing a significant increase in knowledge, changes in attitudes, and community awareness regarding waste management. This is evident from the implementation of waste sorting practices in households, the establishment of community waste management initiatives, and the creation of a cleaner and healthier environment in RT 30 RW 05. Various interventions such as comprehensive socialization, practical training (sorting and composting), facility facilitation, and continuous monitoring have proven effective in addressing the problem of low awareness and practices of waste management. The success of this program underscores the importance of education and active community participation as the key to effective waste management at the local level.

Abstract

Measurement of the company's financial performance is needed to determine success in achieving goals. The performance of a company can be seen from various aspects, one of which is from the financial aspect. Economic Value Added (EVA) and Market Value Added (MVA) are an approach method to assess a company's financial performance as an indicator of the creation of economic added value from an investment. The research method used in this paper is a quantitative descriptive analysis technique. The results of the study show that based on the Economic Value Added (EVA) method in 2018, 2019 and 2020 are considered very good. This can be seen from the positive EVA value where (EVA > 0), which means PT. Electronic City Indonesia Tbk succeeded in obtaining economic added value for three periods. Meanwhile, based on the results of calculations using the MVA (Market Value Added) method, the MVA data in 2018 produced was negative where the MVA value < 0. For 2019- 2020, although the MVA value achieved by the company decreased by 32%, the results still show the value which is positive where MVA > 0. To maintain a positive MVA the company needs to implement strategies and innovations to maintain business advantages that increase the value of the company so that the prosperity of shareholders can be maximized.

Abstract

Dinamika Mitra Nusantara of Bengkulu City, which was established in 2018 and is engaged in the distribution sector such as Tires, Oil, and Car Spare Parts and Heavy Equipment for Mining and Coal Companies, is one of the companies that faces challenges in maintaining productivity and optimal employee contribution to achieving targets. In recent years, employee performance has not been optimal, marked by decreased productivity, late assignments, and minimal innovation. The type of research conducted in this study is causal associative research with quantitative techniques. The sample of this study was 37 people who were staff and employees at CV. Dinamika Mitra Nusantara of Bengkulu City. Data collection using questionnaires and the analysis methods used were multiple linear regression, determination test and hypothesis test. The results of the regression analysis show that Reward (X1) has a significance value of 0.019 (<0.05), so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that rewards have a significant effect on employees’ performance. The punishment variable (X2) has a significance of 0.000 <0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. This means that punishment has a significant effect on employees’ performance. And the simultaneous application of reward and punishment has a positive and significant impact on improving employees’ performance at CV. Dinamika Mitra Nusantara of Bengkulu City. This is evidenced by a significance value of 0.00 (<0.05) and F count of 87.853 with a significance of 0.000. Employees become more motivated because they feel that rewards and sanctions are given in a balanced manner. Thus, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected.
