Abstract

Pembelajaran kimia di abad ke-21 menghadapi tantangan dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep sekaligus keterampilan abad 21 peserta didik, khususnya pada materi yang bersifat abstrak dan membutuhkan keterampilan praktis seperti titrasi asam–basa. Pendekatan pembelajaran inovatif yang mengintegrasikan Project-Based Learning (PjBL), Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), serta prinsip Green Chemistry dipandang relevan untuk menjawab tantangan tersebut. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji secara sistematis hasil-hasil penelitian terdahulu terkait penerapan PjBL berbasis STEM dan Green Chemistry dalam pembelajaran kimia, serta peran Lembar Kerja Peserta Didik (LKPD) sebagai media pendukung dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan abad 21. Metode yang digunakan adalah studi literatur dengan menelaah artikel jurnal nasional dan internasional yang relevan dalam rentang sepuluh tahun terakhir. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa integrasi PjBL–STEM mampu mendorong keterlibatan aktif peserta didik, meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kreatif, serta mengaitkan konsep kimia dengan permasalahan nyata. Penerapan prinsip Green Chemistry dalam pembelajaran kimia terbukti memperkuat kesadaran lingkungan, mendorong praktik laboratorium yang lebih aman, dan mendukung pembelajaran berkelanjutan. LKPD terintegrasi PjBL–STEM berorientasi Green Chemistry berperan sebagai scaffolding pembelajaran yang efektif dalam membimbing proses berpikir peserta didik, mengembangkan kreativitas, kolaborasi, dan komunikasi. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa pengembangan dan implementasi LKPD PjBL–STEM berorientasi Green Chemistry memiliki potensi besar untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran kimia secara konseptual, kontekstual, dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The low metacognitive abilities of students in West Sulawesi and the limited availability of digital learning media that integrate local wisdom are problems faced by teachers in the 5.0 society. The ethnomathematics and Augmented Reality (AR) approaches can be used as solutions to these problems through the use of the Mandar culture of Pattu'du Kumba dance, which contains geometric elements and philosophical values. This study aims to develop Manarang as an ethnomathematics and AR-based digital teaching module to improve students' metacognitive abilities. The research method used was Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The participants were 26 eleventh graders and one mathematics teacher. The instruments used included teacher and student response questionnaires, as well as pre-tests and post-tests validated by two validators. The results showed that the Manarang Module was valid, practical, and effective as a digital learning module on geometric transformation learning. The effectiveness assessment using the paired sample t-test (p = 0.000 < 0.05) and N-gain score of 0.62 represented a moderate improvement towards students' metacognitive skills. This product is expected to support interactive and contextual learning that is able to improve students' metacognition in realizing quality education.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the effectiveness and contextual factors influencing the use of Canva-based interactive learning multimedia in enhancing the cognitive abilities and learning motivation of fifth grade elementary school students. A qualitative descriptive literature review design was employed, chosen to provide a comprehensive understanding of patterns, mechanisms, and perceptions across prior studies rather than to measure quantitative outcomes. Ten peer reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 were examined. Data extracted from these studies included research objectives, participants, educational contexts, methodological approaches, and emerging themes. The analysis was conducted through narrative and thematic synthesis to identify consistent findings and variations across the literature. The results revealed that Canva-based media fostered student engagement, improved visualization of learning materials, and positively influenced both learning outcomes and motivation. Despite challenges such as limited facilities and varying teacher competencies, professional training and institutional support effectively addressed these barriers. Thus, Canva is recognized as a relevant and applicable digital learning tool supporting character- and technology-oriented education within the Independent Curriculum framework. Abstract

The development of information technology in the last five years has led to a significant increase in the use of digital literacy-based learning media in elementary schools. This trend has strengthened since the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced the transformation of learning from conventional to digital. This article aims to examine the trend of developing digital literacy-based learning media in Indonesian language learning in elementary schools for the period 2020–2025. The writing method used is a systematic literature study of relevant national and international scientific articles. The results of the study show that since 2020, there has been a shift from the use of simple digital media such as PDF modules and learning videos to more interactive media such as Android-based applications, online learning platforms, and gamification media. In addition, the trend of integrating digital literacy into Indonesian language learning not only improves students' basic literacy skills but also encourages active engagement, collaboration, and creativity. However, several challenges remain, such as the technology access gap, limited teacher competence, and lack of integration with the local cultural context. The conclusion drawn from this paper is that the trend of developing digital literacy-based learning media needs to be directed towards a more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable approach in order to support the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kajian penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis etnosains dalam meningkatkan kualitas proses belajar mengajar di Indonesia. Etnosains adalah pendekatan yang mengintegrasikan kearifan lokal dan budaya daerah dengan ilmu pengetahuan, khususnya sains, untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang relevan dan bermakna. Metode penelitian yang digunakan studi literatur dari 15 artikel penelitian yang terbit antara 2019 hingga 2025, ditemukan bahwa penggunaan media berbasis etnosains efektif dalam meningkatkan minat belajar, pemahaman konsep, kemampuan berpikir kritis, literasi sains, dan keterampilan pemecahan masalah peserta didik. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media ini mampu mengaitkan pengetahuan ilmiah dengan pengalaman dan budaya lokal siswa, sehingga mereka merasa lebih terhubung dan termotivasi. Berbagai jenis media dikembangkan, seperti LKPD berbasis PjBL, media interaktif, scrapbook, dan buku saku digital yang terbukti valid, praktis, dan efektif. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran berbasis etnosains layak dan efektif digunakan dalam pendidikan, khususnya di daerah yang kaya akan budaya lokal, untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran yang kontekstual dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

BBLR yakni bayi yang lahir dengan berat rendah (<2500gr). Perbedaan tingkat pendidikan ibu, akses terhadap layanan kesehatan, kondisi gizi, dan lingkungan tempat tinggal tampaknya ikut memengaruhi variasi tersebut. Berbagai penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa BBLR bersifat multifactorial, dengan faktor utama usia ibu, status gizi, anemia, jarak kehamilan, dan prematuritas (<37 minggu), serta paparan asap rokok dan pestisida. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor yang mengakibatkan terjadinya BBLR di Puskesmas Pegagan Julu II. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, yakni kuantitatif analitik menggunakan pendekatan cross-sectional, jumlah sampel 120 ibu/responden. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa anemia ialah faktor paling dominan dengan nilai Odds Ratio sebesar 4,21, yang mengindikasikan bahwa kondisi anemia selama kehamilan secara signifikan meningkatkan risiko kejadian BBLR di Puskesmas Pegagan Julu II.

Abstract

Over the past five years, advances in information technology have led to a significant increase in the use of digital literacy-based learning media in elementary schools. This trend has become more pronounced since the COVID-19 pandemic, which accelerated the shift from conventional to digital learning environments. This article aims to examine trends in the development of digital literacy-based learning media for Indonesian language instruction in elementary schools during the period 2020–2025. The study adopts a descriptive qualitative approach, employing a systematic literature review (SLR) combined with bibliometric analysis using VOSviewer software. The findings indicate that, since 2020, there has been a shift from the use of relatively simple digital media, such as PDF modules and instructional videos, toward more interactive formats, including Android-based applications, online learning platforms, and gamified media. Furthermore, the integration of digital literacy into Indonesian language instruction not only enhances students’ basic literacy skills but also promotes active engagement, collaboration, and creativity. However, several challenges persist, including unequal access to technology, limited teacher competence, and insufficient integration of local cultural contexts. This study concludes that future development of digital literacy-based learning media should move toward more innovative, inclusive, and sustainable approaches to better support the quality of Indonesian language learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The rapid integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into education has increased interest in how digital tools can support higher-order thinking rather than simply automate tasks. Within STEAM learning, this issue is especially important because students must combine evidence, reasoning, and design decisions in authentic project work. Generative AI tools based on large language models were used in this study as learning scaffolds to assist students with keyword expansion, scientific query construction, journal abstract summarization, hypothesis development, and revision of written explanations. The study examined whether such AI-supported learning improved students’ critical thinking during a STEAM microcontroller media-design project. Two intact classes completed the same project workflow: one class used AI support, while the other completed the project without AI. Student performance was evaluated using a five-dimension critical-thinking rubric covering information and keywords, concepts and logic, journal abstract interpretation, hypothesis and reasoning, and academic formatting and compliance. Results showed that the AI-supported class performed better overall, scoring about five points higher on average and showing a large overall advantage. Improvements appeared across all rubric dimensions, with the strongest gains found in journal abstract interpretation and hypothesis and reasoning, suggesting that AI was most helpful when students had to interpret evidence, connect ideas, and justify decisions. The weakest-link bottleneck analysis, defined as the rubric dimension in which each student performed worst, showed that journal abstract interpretation remained the main constraint in both groups. These findings indicate that AI can serve as a productive scaffold for critical thinking and decision-making in STEAM projects, especially by supporting evidence use and iterative reasoning, while also highlighting the need for explicit instruction in reading and interpreting scientific abstracts.

Abstract

Many elementary students are able to decode written text fluently but struggle to construct coherent narratives with clear sequencing and causal relationships. This study aimed to develop and evaluate a culturally grounded non-text picture storybook to enhance narrative structuring skills among elementary school students. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the Plomp model, consisting of preliminary investigation, design, realization, testing, and implementation phases. The product was developed based on Cirebon’s coastal ethnoscience and tested through a limited trial involving 30 second-grade students, followed by broader implementation with 200 students from ten public elementary schools in Cirebon City, Indonesia. Data were collected through expert validation, practicality questionnaires, pre-test and post-test assessments, and classroom observations. The results indicated that the storybook met high validity standards in terms of content (4.2), media design (4.0), and language (4.0). Practicality ratings from teachers (4.7) and students (4.1) showed positive user responses. Quantitative findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ narrative structuring skills, with a large effect size. The study concludes that integrating visual scaffolding with culturally relevant content effectively strengthens students’ ability to organize and express narratives. This research contributes to visual literacy development and culturally responsive pedagogy in elementary education.

Abstract

Ecopedagogy has gained increasing attention in science education, particularly at the elementary school level, due to the growing need to enhance students' environmental awareness and sustainability literacy. The objective of this study is to analyse research trends and the development of ecopedagogy in elementary science education. The study is based on Scopus-indexed publications from 2020 to 2025. This study employs a bibliometric analysis combined with a systematic literature review approach to map publication trends, journal sources, international collaborations, and country contributions related to ecopedagogy research. The data were analysed using VOSviewer and Biblioshiny to visualise relationships among key concepts. The findings reveal a significant increase in ecopedagogy-related publications, with major contributions from countries such as the United States and China. Furthermore, technology integration and interdisciplinary approaches have emerged as dominant themes in the development of ecopedagogy in science education. This study emphasises the significance of incorporating ecopedagogy as a pedagogical approach within elementary science curricula, particularly through teacher professional development and cross-disciplinary collaboration to promote sustainable education. Future research is recommended to explore empirical implementations and measure their impact on students’ environmental understanding and behavior
