Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the nature, history, scope, objectives and benefits, and validity of nahwu science in an epistemological perspective so that we know that nahwu science can be called a branch of science that studies the depth of Arabic, because many people still do not know how this science is built. The approach used to research this research is descriptive-qualitative which is literature-based, including library research. Namely, searching for and studying literature that is related to the problems that are the object of this research study, not only based on books but also in journals, magazines, and so on. With an Islamic educational philosophy approach based on library data accompanied by discourse analysis, it was found that nahwu science is a science that studies the structure of Arabic grammar. The scope of the study of nahwu science is an explanation of i'rob, mawaqi'ul i'rob, isbat, nafy, rutbah (taqdim or ta'khir), numbers. This nahwu science is sourced from the Qur'an, hadith, poetry, prose. And the validity of Nahwu is considered correct if it is in accordance with the views of scholars from various schools of thought, such as Basrah, Kufah, Baghdad, and Andalusia.

Abstract

This research aims to explore and analyze the concept of Islamic education according to Al-Ghazali, with an emphasis on the integration of spiritual and moral values in the learning process. The main focus of this research is how Islamic education according to Al-Ghazali is a process of forming a perfect human, both in this world and in the afterlife, with the main aim of getting closer (taqarrub) to Allah as the Creator. Al-Ghazali believes that knowledge is a means to achieve human perfection and eternal happiness. According to him, Islamic education must include education in matters of faith, morals, intellectual, social and physical. The ideal teacher must have noble character and apply teaching methods that are oriented towards example, moral development and instilling virtues. This research also highlights that Al-Ghazali had two approaches in designing educational curricula: a tendency towards religion and Sufism, as well as a pragmatic tendency. The integration of spiritual and moral values in the learning process is considered very important to form individuals with noble and devout morals, as well as spreading benevolent values to all mankind.

Abstract

This study explores applying the Living Qur'an approach in Islamic education to develop critical thinking skills and a reflective and relevant understanding of Islamic teachings in students' lives. This study uses the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method to collect evidence of applying the Living Qur'an in Islamic education. Relevant literature was selected from the Garuda, Google Scholar, and Scopus databases. Articles that met the inclusion criteria were evaluated and analysed based on the themes of experiential learning and improving critical thinking skills. The findings were analysed to understand the impact of the Living Qur'an in developing Islamic learning. The results of the study show that the Living Qur'an approach bridges the gap between the text of the Qur'an and students' social lives, making it more relevant and applicable. This approach integrates Islamic teachings with social, cultural, and gender contexts, such as in the division of inheritance in South Kalimantan and Mandar culture. The Living Qur'an encourages critical and reflective thinking, inviting students to apply Islamic teachings daily. The innovation of digital interpretation allows learning to be more interactive and to the needs of the times. In addition, the Living Qur'an plays a role in shaping social ethics, improving the quality of community life, and strengthening students' character through applicable religious education. Implementing the Living Qur'an in Islamic Religious Education learning includes contextual, value-based, interactive, collaborative, and project-based approaches. Methods such as Discovery Learning, discussion, and Problem Based Learning are used to apply the values of the Qur'an. The limitations of this study lie in the focus on limited literature and the SLR methodology that does not include direct empirical data from students. Further research is recommended to involve field studies to test the practical application of the Living Qur'an in a broader educational context, including its influence on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This article examines an-nisa’iyah as a critical epistemological paradigm within Islamic education, offering a framework that advances gender justice, spiritual empowerment, and women’s autonomy. Rooted in a response to persistent patriarchal narratives in some Islamic educational settings, an-nisa’iyah rearticulates the role of women as active moral, intellectual, and social agents. Utilizing literature review and critical discourse analysis, this study investigates how an-nisa’iyah can inform educational reform across curriculum, pedagogy, and praxis—particularly in both formal and non-formal learning environments. The concept encourages an Islamic pedagogy that fosters awareness of rights, capabilities, and ethical responsibilities among female learners. By situating spirituality as integral to liberation, an-nisa’iyah envisions education as a space for nurturing independent, critically conscious Muslim women. The article argues that integrating this paradigm within Islamic educational systems may contribute to more inclusive, justice-oriented, and spiritually grounded learning models—thus reshaping Islamic education into a transformative vehicle for gender equity and social renewal.

Abstract

Modernization triggered an identity crisis that prompted the birth of a new social movement, the hijrah movement became a movement for identity search among millennials in Indonesia. This paper presents a complete explanation of the development of the hijrah movement in Indonesia and the efforts of hijrah youth to build religious resilience in the midst of modernization. With an analytical descriptive approach, this study collects data using a literature study, then analyzes it with thematic techniques. The goal is to provide actual insight into the impact of the hijrah movement and how hijrah youth adapt and maintain religious consistency. The results of this study show that the hijrah movement is a step to find the identity of the millennial generation who are experiencing an identity crisis in the midst of modernization. The challenges faced include conflicts between religious values and modern lifestyles, maintaining religious consistency in the digital era, to social stigma against the hijrah movement from various community groups. Efforts to build religious resilience among hijrah youth can be understood within the framework of the social construction theory of Peter L. Berger and Thomas Luckmann, which takes place through three dialectical stages: externalization, objectification, and internalization. The religious resilience built by the hijrah youth is not solely based on a dogmatic foundation, but is the result of complex social dynamics. Values such as staying away from dating, covering the aurat, and choosing to avoid usury transactions are not only understood as religious obligations, but also as a collective identity that gives direction and meaning in life.

Abstract

Islamic Education must engage in dialogue with the dynamics of social life and technological developments. Through the modernization and democratization of Islamic Education, Azyumardi Azra offers an educational construction that can face the challenges of modernity by adhering to the values and teachings of the Islamic religion. This research aims to reveal Azyumardi Azra's views and conception of Islamic Education and their implications for the construction of Islamic Education. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of library research. The results of this study indicate that Islamic Education in Azra's view, must be oriented towards the formation and development of children's personality based on the teachings of Islam. Not only that, Islamic Education must also be designed considering students' competence in mastering science and technology. In this way, it can carry out its function of preparing human resources thoroughly. To modernize and democratize Education, Azra offers several strategic steps, including; ideological-normative, political, economic, social, and cultural mobilization. At the same time, Azra also uncovered several variables that must become a modernization agenda: administrative modernization, subcultural modernization, and capacity expansion. In addition, according to Azra, efforts to democratize Education are more to make the education system more just, inclusive, and participatory. According to him, the democratization of Education is a process of social change that aims to make the education system more equitable and of better quality for all citizens. He believes that democratization in Education can be characterized by three key aspects. Firstly, it involves having a flexible curriculum that allows students to express their creativity. Secondly, there is a shift in the paradigm of Islamic Education, moving away from an authoritarian approach towards a more democratic one. Lastly, there is a harmonious connection between Islamic educational institutions and the surrounding community, ensuring a synchronized and inclusive learning environment
