Abstract

The research is motivated by the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education and the challenges of implementation in disadvantaged areas, which create a gap in students' motivation and interest in learning. The purpose of the study was to analyze the influence of AI-based learning models on increasing students' motivation and learning interest at SMA Negeri 2 Tabang, Kutai Kartanegara. The study used a qualitative approach of a case study with thirty student subjects. Data were collected through observation (10 indicators of interest and ten indicators of motivation), interviews, and documentation. Research shows that AI-based models significantly and simultaneously improve both aspects, which is evident from 9 out of ten indicators of interest and all ten indicators of motivation seen. This improvement is fueled by the personalization of exploration and instant feedback from AI, which creates a collaborative and student-centered learning environment. Research proves that despite infrastructure constraints, managed AI integration can transform the dynamics of learning in disadvantaged areas. It is recommended that schools develop guidelines for the use of AI and conduct prompt drafting training for teachers.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the challenges in Basic Computer and Network learning (Komjardas) that require concrete visualization of network devices, while conventional media such as textbooks are considered less interactive and cause students' interest in learning to decrease. The purpose of the research was to analyze the use of Augmented Reality (AR)-based Assemblr Edu media in increasing the learning interest of students in class X of Computer and Network Engineering at SMK Unitomo Surabaya. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach of 33 students. Data was collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and learning outcome tests. Research shows that the implementation of Assemblr Edu significantly increases students' interest in learning, characterized by enthusiasm, activeness of questioning, independent exploration, and collaboration. Cognitive learning outcomes also improved with an average post-test score of 83.2-84.3 and a completeness of 83.6%, compared to a pre-test of 75.6-76.2 with a completeness of 75.9%. An effective Edu assembly creates immersive and interactive learning, thereby increasing students' interest and learning outcomes. Teachers need to be able to consider the integration of AR technology and training.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of interpersonal communication skills in students' social lives, especially at SMA N 1 Jepara, where some students still experience communication difficulties due to low self-confidence, nervousness, and a tendency to withdraw from social interactions. These problems are closely related to parenting styles and self-confidence development. This study aims to describe the implementation and effectiveness of group guidance services using sociodrama techniques to improve students' interpersonal communication skills. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of a non-equivalent control group type. The study participants were students from class X1.1 of SMA N 1 Jepara, who were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through Likert scale questionnaires and interviews, while data analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the study indicate that group guidance services using sociodrama techniques are effective in improving students' interpersonal communication skills. Through role-playing and dramatization of real social situations, students become more open, empathetic, and confident in expressing their thoughts and engaging in interactions. Therefore, sociodrama can be considered an effective alternative technique in group guidance to develop students' interpersonal communication skills.

Abstract

Halal food certification in the university canteen needs to prepare Halal Assurance System (HAS) implementation. Halal Control Point (HCP) traceability in the canteen is very complicated because it has several menus, processes, and materials. This study aims to trace the HCP on materials, processing and serving in Universitas Brawijaya (UB) Canteen, then provide improvement. This research used seven criteria of HAS-23102 for a restaurant to evaluate the menus, ingredients, production, and serving in UB Canteen. HCP traceability was done on 60 menus from 4 food tenants and one beverage tenant. The results showed that grouping the menus and ingredients facilitates HCP identification. The menu consists of six groups: soup, deep-fried, stir-fried, strong spices dish, medium soup, and beverages. The materials consist of fresh ingredients, dry ingredients, and liquids. The menus required 113 materials. There are 16 (14%) materials HCP, including chicken, beef, noodles, and soy sauce. HCP materials do not meet HAS criteria and be replaced with halal-certified material or halal production process (HPP) description from the producer that needs to be checked by a halal auditor. The HCP did not found in the process and serving because the canteen does not produce and service haram (unlawful) products. Still, there is contamination possibility of haram and najis (unclean in Islamic terms) materials. For prevention, the Standard Operational Procedure (SOP) of production, serving the tenant, employee, and visitor need to be applied. The alternatives are supplying chicken meat and beef from a halal-certified slaughterhouse, monitoring and controlling the tenants' kitchen periodically three months, applying the halal standard for storage in tenant's kitchen and canteen facilities, and food serving in canteen. The HCP traceability of the university canteen according to halal standards, including raw materials, additional materials, processes, and serving, including the equipment used.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to map existing research on critical thinking in digital learning environments by identifying reported challenges, opportunities, and pedagogical strategies. Methods – A scoping review was conducted following the framework of Arksey and O’Malley (2005). A systematic search of the Scopus database was performed using the keywords critical thinking, digital learning, online learning, and blended learning. After automated filtering, title screening, abstract screening, and full-text review, 20 peer-reviewed open-access journal articles published between 2020 and 2025 were included. Data were extracted and synthesized in relation to three research questions addressing challenges, opportunities, and pedagogical strategies. Findings – The review identified recurring challenges, including superficial integration of higher-order thinking, limited learner self-regulation, technological and institutional constraints, and assessment limitations. At the same time, digital learning environments offer opportunities through flexible access, authentic learning tasks, collaborative interaction, and metacognitive support. Pedagogical strategies such as inquiry-based, project-based, case-based, and flipped learning were consistently associated with positive critical thinking outcomes when supported by instructional alignment and scaffolding. Research Implications – The findings emphasize the central role of pedagogical design in fostering critical thinking through digital learning. As a scoping review, this study maps trends rather than evaluating intervention effectiveness and is limited to open-access Scopus-indexed articles.

Abstract

Skin diseases in cats are among the most common health issues, yet many cat owners still lack awareness of their symptoms. Limited access to veterinary services, especially in regions such as West Kalimantan, poses a significant challenge in early identification and treatment. This study aims to develop a web-based expert system capable of automatically diagnosing skin diseases in cats based on symptoms inputted by users. The system utilizes the Forward Chaining method for rule-based inference and the Bayes Theorem for probabilistic calculation to determine the likelihood of diseases. The system was built using the Laravel framework and MySQL database, based on a total of 83 case data obtained through direct interviews with veterinary experts. Testing using black-box and user acceptance methods showed that the system functions effectively and delivers accurate and informative diagnostic results. The system achieved an accuracy rate of 100% when tested on validated expert data. Therefore, this system can serve as an effective tool for cat owners to quickly and independently gain initial insights into their cat’s skin health before consulting a veterinarian.

Abstract

The study aimed to evaluate the implementation and effectiveness of group guidance services utilizing sociodrama techniques to mitigate negative friendship circles among students at SMA N 1 Bae Kudus. This research is novel as it specifically addresses the impact of negative friendships on adolescent development and employs sociodrama as a therapeutic intervention. The quasi-experimental design involved a one-group pretest-posttest method, revealing a significant reduction in the average score of negative friendship circles from 93.75 (high category) to 75 (medium category), indicating an 18.75% decrease. Hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference (p = 0.018), confirming the positive effect of sociodrama techniques in enhancing students' understanding and management of their social interactions. This study provides valuable insights for educators and counselors in addressing peer relationship issues in schools.
