Abstract

This research uses the Systematic Mapping Study (SMS) method to identify knowledge trends in beliefs about the nature of mathematics, learning, and learning mathematics and identify new development opportunities for further research. The Systematic Mapping Study (SMS) method is the initial stage for selecting primary sources in a literature study. The Scopus database was used for SMS, then 171 articles were found ready for further analysis. The results show that mathematical belief has become a current research trend. The keywords are "beliefs." The new trending keyword is "pre-service teachers." The thematic map shows thirteen clusters, where the motivation, pre-service mathematics teachers, mathematics education, beliefs, and attitudes clusters are the motor themes currently a global challenge. This means there are still great opportunities to research this theme to complete the knowledge puzzle. In closing, 41 articles are primary articles related to this theme. Three of them, namely articles from Stipek et al. (2001), Beswick (2012), and Felbrich et al. (2012), can be seen as primary references.

Abstract

Self-regulated learning is a crucial aspect of the learning process for students. This ability is often overlooked due to the challenges of inaccurate measurement. This study aims to evaluate the quality of a self-regulated learning scale developed through an analysis of respondent responses. The research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using the Rasch Model as the analytical method. The instrument used consisted of 30 statement items. The study sample included 59 mathematics education students selected through cluster random sampling from two universities in different districts. The analysis results indicated that, after three calibration processes, the self-regulated learning scale was refined to 28 items with excellent quality. Furthermore, the responses of 58 students demonstrated a high level of consistency. Thus, self-regulated learning scale has good validity and reliability, making it a dependable tool for measuring self-regulated learning abilities. The implications of this study include the provision of a practical and reliable instrument for researchers and educators to support further studies and serve as an evaluation tool in learning development.

Abstract

The development of technology has a significant impact on the world of education. One of them is the use of games as a learning medium. This study aims to develop an educational game integrated with a live worksheet. The development research was conducted using a design thinking approach. The design thinking stages are carried out through five steps: empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. The feasibility of educational games is reviewed based on expert assessments, the practicality of educational games is reviewed based on student response questionnaires, and the effectiveness of educational games is reviewed based on the results of field trials. A total of thirty students of SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Semarang became research respondents. The study results showed that educational games are feasible for mathematics learning, with an Aiken V value of 0.93. The practicality test results showed that students responded to 88.67%, with a very good category. The effectiveness test of using educational games with SPSS using the Wilcoxon Signed Test obtained a Sig. 2-tailed value of 0.000 <0.05. This shows that educational games can improve students' mathematical thinking skills in data presentation materials. This study suggests improvements in creating educational games that need to pay attention to interesting storylines and the placement of practice questions to increase students' motivation in learning mathematics.

Abstract

AbstractIslamic boarding schools (pesantren) as traditional Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia face challenges in integrating digital technology into their learning processes. This study aims to analyze the implementation of digital learning evaluation in the Qur'anic tahfizh program at Insan Mulia Islamic Boarding School (IMBOS) in Pringsewu, Lampung, and assess its impact on educational quality. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observation involving 52 tahfizh teachers (muhafizh/muhafizhah) overseeing 104 study groups (halaqah). Findings reveal that IMBOS has adopted two digital evaluation platforms: (1) a web-based system integrated with a mobile application for attendance monitoring, and (2) a spreadsheet application for assessing memorization progress. Data analysis indicates three key benefits of this technological implementation: enhanced evaluation efficiency through real-time monitoring, improved assessment accuracy via data visualization, and early detection of learning difficulties. These findings reinforce the critical role of digital transformation in improving the effectiveness of tahfizh education while providing a practical model for other Islamic boarding schools to adopt educational technology.
