Abstract

Leather tanning waste water contains chemical compounds, such as chromium and NH4+ in high concentration, so if they are thrown away without treatment they will make some problems. The aims of this research is to adsorb the cations in leather tanning waste water i.e chromium and NH4+ used natural zeolite as an adsorbent. Research was done by comparing amount of chromium and NH4+ in effluent waste water treatment unit with amount of chromium and NH4+ after being adsorbed by zeolite in a batch system. The result of this research showed that efficiency difference between using zeolite and waste water treatment unit was significant. The optimal condition to reduce chromium and NH4+ was by using 300 grams per liter waste, zeolite particle size was 50-60 mesh, contact time was 24 hours and pH 8±0,1. In this condition, zeolites could reduce chromium from 3728,56mg/l to 365,39 mg/l or 90,20%, and NH4+ from 3040,02 mg/l menjadi 209,76 mg/l or 93,10%. Waste water treatment unit could reduce chromium 63,55% and NH4+ 56,75%.  Keywords : natural zeolite, chromium, NH4+, leather tanning, waste water.   ABSTRAK Air limbah penyamakan kulit mengandung senyawa-senyawa kimia antara lain krom dan NH4+ yang cukup tinggi, sehingga bila langsung dibuang tanpa mengalami pengolahan, maka akan menimbulkan masalah lingkungan. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengurangi kandungan krom dan NH4+ dalam air limbah industry menyamakan kulit dengan menggunakan zeolite, pada kondisi adsorpsi optimal meliputi jumlah zeolite, waktu kontak, dan ukuran partikel. Penelitian dilakukan dengan cara membandingkan jumah krom dan NH4+ dalam air limbah yang diolah pada unit Pengolah Limbah (UPAL) yang selama ini telah dilakukan, dengan jumlah krom dan NH4+ dalam air limbah yang dilewatkan zeolit alam dengan sistem batch. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perbedaan efisiensi penggunaan zeolit dengan UPAL nyata. Kondisi optimal ntuk menurunkan kandungan krom dan NH4+ dapat menggunakan zeolite alam sebanyak 300 gram untuk setiap liter limbah, ukuran zeolite 50-60 mesh, waktu kontak 24 jam dan larutan limbah dikondisikan pada pH 8± 0,1. Pada kondisi tersbut zeolit dapat menurunkan krom dari 3728,56 mg/l menjadi 365,39 mg/l atau sebesar 90,20%, sedangkan untuk NH4+ dari 3040,02 mg/l menjadi 209,76 mg/l atau sebesar 93,10%. Penggunaan zeolit alam pada UPAL menurunkan kandungan krom sebesar 63,55 % dan NH4+ sebesar 56,75%.   Kata Kunci : zeolit alam, krom, NH4+, air limbah, penyamakan kulit.

Abstract

ABSTRACTIn the Windows operating system a sound file format is widely used wave format (*, WAV). Wave format is widely used for purposes such as gaming and multimedia. The format of this wave is actually a kind of rough format (raw format) in which the voice signal directly recorded and quantized into digital data. In this program will be made specifically to the compression and decompression of audio files of type wave and have manifold PCM audio formats (Pulse Code Modulation) and supports a maximum of 2 pieces of the channel channel (mono and stereo). The percentage of file compression wave does not depend on the size of the file but rather rely on the frequency of the wave file. The more repetition of data contained in the file data chunk wave then the lower the compression ratio. Keywords: Compression, Wave File, Visual Basic, Audio.

 ABSTRACT Sport is one of the factors to obtain physical healthy is directly affecting the spiritual health, as we often hear the saying "mensana incorporisano" (there is a strong body in a healthy soul). Football is one of the most popular sport among the people of Indonesia and  the world. In addition to football health reasons also serves as a medium of entertainment for all people. Along with the football has been a consumer for the wider community, whether through newspapers, radio, television, or internet. With the topic of information media of soccer competition Province Yogyakarta, the writer hopes to participate and facilitate the delivery of information found in any activities, especially football competition which was held in  Province Yogyakarta. By providing a web-based information on a regulary soccer competition in Province Yogyakarta, the user only needs to be online and access information on the web authors.Inside there are a few web authors include menu navigation information on schedules, standings table, information about football competition. By accessing this web based information a user can know the schedule of all existing match in football competition which is being rolled, and to know the statistics or rankings while we often hear "standings table". Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study is aimed at making security application of computer network by using snort detection system method and mikrotik. Combining IDS method and IPTables mikrotik is to avoid intruder furthrmore, using web to make admin easily to monitor .This application aims to make system of network computer security easier, based on web and to be analyzed as well as controlled by administrator . this application is made to block ip address that is suspected bringing. Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate the adsorption ability of chemically activated bagasse fly ash using H O or H SO to remove COD from tannery wastewater and to obtain 2 adsorption isotherm model in batch system. Two stages have been carried out, namely the activation experiment and the adsorption isotherm experiment. In the activation experiment, effect of H O dan H SO (3% and 7,5% w/w) were studied. The best result of the variation was used in the next experiment. In the adsorption isotherm experiment, variation of the initial concentrations of COD from 52,53 to 1665,79 mg/L and mass of bagasse fly ash from 0,1 to 0,4 g were used. Equilibrium data was used to evaluate the parameters in the Langmuir, Freundlich, and Temkin equations. The best model was evaluated using determination coefficients. The results showed that bagas fly ash had better ability to reduce the COD when it was not activated with H O nor H SO (3% and 7,5%). Freundlich model was best to describe COD removal using bagasse fly ash in batch system. Freundlich equation constants K and n were F 0,4360 (mg/g)/(L/mg)1/n and 1,2969 respectively and the determination coefficient obtained was 0,93.  Keywords: Chemical Oxygen Demand, tannery wastewater, bagasse fly ash, adsorption

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the effect of CV and SEV curing systems on aging and thermal properties of natural rubber and butyl rubber blends. The mixing of rubber and rubber chemicals using two roll-mills and the vulcanization process was carried out by the hydraulic press at 160° C and 150 kg/cm2. The research design used two variations; first, the CV curing system (accelerator/sulfur) (1.0/2.5) phr and SEV curing system (accelerator/sulfur) (2.1/1.5) phr, second, the ratio of natural rubber/butyl: 100/0; 95/5; 90/10; 85/15; 80/20; 75/25; 70/30; 65/35; 60/40 and 55/45 phr. The parameter observed were tensile strength, elongation at break, hardness before and after aging and thermal properties, e.g.TG/DTA and DSC. The results showed that CV curing systems provided tensile, elongation at break properties gave higher quality and better aging properties. TG/DTA analysis of vulcanizates processed with CV curing systems provided slightly better thermal stability than of the SEV curing system.Keywords: natural rubber, butyl rubber, curing, CV, SEV, aging, thermal.ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh sistem vulkanisasi CV dan SEV terhadap sifat aging dan termal campuran karet alam dan karet butil. Pencampuran karet dan bahan kimia karet dilakukan mengunakan mesin two roll mil dan proses vulkanisasi dilakukan dengan mesin hydraulic press pada suhu 160ºC dan tekanan 150 kg/cm2. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan 2 variasi. Variasi pertama sistem vulkanisasi CV (akselerator/sulfur) (1,0/2,5) phr dan sistem vulkanisasi SEV (akselerator/sulfur) (2,1/1,5) phr. Variasi kedua adalah perbandingan karet alam/butil: 100/0; 95/5; 90/10; 85/15; 80/20; 75/25; 70/30; 65/35; 60/40 dan 55/45 phr. Pengujian yang diamati adalah tegangan putus, perpanjangan putus, kekerasan sebelum dan sesudah aging serta sifat termal: DTA/TGA dan DSC. Hasil uji menunjukkan vulkanisat yang diproses dengan sistem vulkanisasi CV mempunyai sifat tegangan putus, perpanjangan putus lebih tinggi dan sifat aging lebih baik. Analisa DTA/TGA vulkanisat yang diproses dengan sistem vulkanisasi CV memberikan stabilitas termal sedikit lebih baik dari pada sistem vulkanisasi SEV.Kata kunci: karet alam, karet butil, vulkanisasi, CV, SEV, aging, termal.

Abstract

A research of constructed wetland system vegetated with Equisetum hyemale for treating of treated tannery wastewater have been conducted. The constructed wetland was 3 m long, 1 m wide, and 1 m deep or equal with volume of 3 m3. The construction of wetland consisted of 4 main layers (from the bottom to the top): 0.3 m of rock; 0.3 m of gravel; 0.1 m of black sugar-palm fiber; and 0.3 m of sand. The wetland was operated with subsurface flow system (SSF). The detention time was varied at 3.125; 2.083; and 1.563 days. The result showed that the optimum removal were 60.60% for COD with detention time of 3.125 days, 60.17% for BOD with detention time of 2.083 days, 93.76% for TSS with detention time of 3.125 days, 89.02%  for S with detention time of 3.125 days and 96.89% for total chrome wth detention time of 2.083 days.ABSTRAKTelah dilakukan penelitian taman tanaman air (TTA) dengan tanaman bambu air untuk mengolah limbah cair terolah industri penyamakan kulit. Konstruksi TTA berukuran panjang 3 m, lebar 1 m, dan dalam 1 m, atau sama dengan volume 3 m3. Media terdiri atas empat lapisan mulai dari bawah adalah koral 0,3 m, kerikil 0,3 m, ijuk 0,1 m, dan lapisan paling atas adalah pasir 0,3 m. TTA dioperasikan dengan sistem aliran subsurface (SSF). Waktu tinggal divariasi berturut-turut pada 3,125; 2,083; dan 1,563 hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukan efektivitas penurunan COD sebesar 60,60% dengan waktu tinggal 3,125 hari, penurunan BOD sebesar 60,17% dengan waktu tinggal 2,083 hari, penurunan TSS sebesar 93,76% dengan waktu tinggal 3,125 hari, penurunan S sebesar 89,02% dengan waktu tinggal 3,125 hari dan penurunan krom sebesar 96,89% dengan waktu tinggal 2,083 hari.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this research was to obtain suitable mathematical model for ChemicalOxygen Demand (COD) removal originated from tannery wastewater using bagasse fly ash incontinuous system. In the column experiment, effect of flowrate, concentration of wastewater,and bulk density were studied. Three models: Adams-Bohart, Thomas, and Yan were applied toexperimental data to predict the breakthrough curve. The best model was evaluated usingcorrelation coefficients. Yan model was found to give the most accurate to describe dynamicbehavior of the column experiment. The best result was obtained at flowrate of 100 mL/min,concentration of 400 mg/L, and bulk density of 61 g/L. The Yan kinetic constant (k ) and the Yadsorption capacity (q ) were 0.3210 mL/mg/min and 17.0947 mg/g respectively and the Ycorrelation coefficient obtained was 0.9379.Keywords: Chemical Oxygen Demand, tannery wastewater, bagasse fly ash, adsorptionABSTRAKpengurangan COD dalam air limbah industri penyamakan kulit mengunakan abu terbang bagassecara kontinyu. Abstract

The objective of this research was to observe the effect of MBTS/ZDEC ratio on dynamic properties, curing characteristic, morphology as well as hardness and resiliency of the NR/EPDM blends prepared by curatives migration control technique. The MBTS/ZDEC ratio were 1.6/0.0; 1.5/0.1; 1.4/0.2; 1.3/0.3 and 1.2/0.4 respectively on a fixed NR/EPDM ratio of 60/40. Compounds (EPDM and NR) were prepared separately using two roll mill. The blends with binary accelerator MBTS/ZDEC showed synergistic activity which provided higher crosslink density than those of single accelerator MBTS. Reduction of ts2 and t90 as well as cure rate index (CRI) indicated the more homogeneous crosslink density distribution within the rubber phase. Scanning electron micrograph showed that the blends with binary accelerator gave smoother surface. Binary accelerator resulted higher hardness. Increasing of ZDEC raised hardness followed by reduction of the resillience property.ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mempelajari pengaruh rasio MBTS/ZDEC pada sifat dinamik, karakteristik curing, karakteristik morfologi serta kekerasan dan sifat pegas pantul campuran NR/EPDM yang dibuat dengan teknik kontrol migrasi curatives. Rasio MBTS/ZDEC yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini secara berurutan 1,6/0,0; 1,5/0,1; 1,4/0,2; 1,3/0,3; dan 1,2/0,4 pada rasio NR/EPDM tetap 60/40. Kompon dibuat secara terpisah (kompon EPDM dan NR) menggunakan two roll mill. Campuran NR/EPDM dengan akselerator biner MBTS/ZDEC menunjukkan sinergi aktivitas yang memberikan kerapatan ikatan silang lebih tinggi daripada akselerator tunggal MBTS. Kemampuan proses kompon akselerator biner lebih rendah daripada akselerator tunggal. Penurunan ts2 dan t90 serta kenaikan indeks kecepatan reaksi (CRI) mengindikasikan distribusi ikatan silang yang merata pada kedua fasa karet. Mikrograf pemindaian elektron (SEM) menunjukkan campuran dengan akselerator biner mempunyai permukaan yang lebih halus. Kekerasan vulkanisat sistem biner lebih tinggi. Penambahan ZDEC meningkatkan kekerasan dan diikuti dengan penurunan sifat pegas pantul.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the experiment was to obtain optimum condition for COD reduction in tannerywastewater using fentons reagent. The effects of different reaction parameters included ferrousconcentration, hydrogen peroxide concentration, and the pH walue of solution were investigated.The optimum values were achieved at 0.2%, 120 ppm, and 4 for FeSO H O , and pH, 4, 2 2respectively. The optimum condition still unable to fulfill the quality standard for COD ofwastewater.Keywords: tannery, wastewater, fentons reagent, chemical oxygen demandABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh kondisi operasi yang optimum pengolahan airlimbah industri penyamakan kulit menggunakan reagen fenton. Variasi parameter reaksi yangditeliti yaitu konsentrasi fero sulfat, konsentrasi hidrogen peroksida, dan pH larutan.
