Abstract

Background: The prevalence of primary dysmenorrhea in Indonesia is 54.89%. Progressive Muscle Relaxation (PMR) exercises have proven to decrease the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. Nowadays, the android application can be widely accessed anywhere and anytime, thus saving time and costs. There has never been a study that applies PMR, especially android-based dysmenorrhoea. Objective: The current study aimed to develop the PURE App, a PMR exercise android-based application, and to test the effectiveness of reducing the menstrual pain score of adolescents with primary dysmenorrhea.Method: This study conducted Research and Development (R&D), which consists of 4 stages, namely information collection, application design, expert validation and revision, and trial.Result: The PURE App has five features, ranging from pain screening to exercise. The trial results showed that the PURE App application effectively reduced menstrual pain in adolescents with dysmenorrhea. The treatment decreased pain score from 4.48±0.71 to 1.98±1.49 in the treatment group (p<0.001). The treatment group's post-measurement pain score was also significantly different compared to the control group, 1.98±1.49 and 4.90±1.10, respectively. Conclusion: The PURE App benefits teenagers, especially those with primary dysmenorrhea. This application will make it easier for teenagers to overcome pain because the exercises on the application can be accessed anytime and anywhere.

Abstract

Background: Uterine Fundus Height (TFU) is an indicator for monitoring fetal well-being during pregnancy. So far, TFU measurements are still carried out manually with several weaknesses such as human error, takes a long time, and less efficiency, which requires new innovations. This study aims to develop a tool for measuring uterine fundal height by utilizing an artificial intelligence-based rotary encoder sensor to determine gestational age and estimated fetal weight. Subjects and Method: This study used Research and Development (R&D) in the R&D stage with stages carried out at the Adem Ayem Clinic from January to February 2023. Expert validation testing and small-scale product trials. A total of 10 pregnant women were selected in this study, they were divided into two groups: (1) Five pregnant women using a digital TFU measuring instrument; and (2) Five pregnant women used a measuring tape. The dependent variables are uterine fundal height, gestational age and estimated fetal weight. The independent variable is a tool for measuring uterine fundal height. Differences in TFU in the intervention and control groups were analyzed using the Mann Whitney test. Results: Development of a tool for measuring uterine fundal height that provides feasible and valid results in measuring uterine fundal height and determining gestational age and estimating fetal weight. Conclusion: Development of a tool for measuring uterine fundal height that provides feasible and valid results in measuring uterine fundal height and determining gestational age and estimating fetal weight. Keywords: uterine fundal height, gestational age, estimated fetal weight, rotary encoder sensor, pregnant women. Correspondence: Mar’atu Mutiah. AbstractReviewing works of literature is a basic need for researching and writing academic articles. Conducting a literature review will enable us to reveal the current information regarding to the topic to be studied, the research gap, and references for the theoretical bases. However, many teachers in Indonesia find difficulties in writing a literature review causing them to be reluctant to conduct research and produce academic articles. This community service aimed to improve teachers' knowledge and skills in writing literature reviews on digital literacy-based learning. Offline and online workshop and mentoring methods were employed during the service, carried out in two main phases; orienting and engaging teachers to get to know about literature review and research, engaging and mentoring teachers to search and conduct literature review. The target of this service were teachers of the Islamic Primary, Junior High, and Senior Schools in 2 Istiqlal Jakarta. The service showed good results in terms of the complete participation of the teachers in writing their research titles, deconstructing the title to decide the research focuses and context, identifying the keywords as the bases for the literature review, and composing the framework to be developed related to their needed literature reviews. It can be concluded that mentoring program from the faculty members can solve the teachers’ problems in writing literature reviews.

Abstract

Background: Striae gravidarum is the stretching of the skin beyond its elastic limit that causes blue or reddish lines to appear on the abdomen, thighs, and breasts of pregnant women. Striae gravidarum can cause itching, burning, and dryness, as well as emotional disturbances that cause discomfort in most pregnant women. The prevalence of Striae gravidarum in pregnant women worldwide ranges from 50% to 90% but specific data on Striae gravidarum is not recorded because Striae gravidarum is a complaint or discomfort during pregnancy that is sometimes ignored by pregnant women themselves. Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is coconut oil that contains ingredients that effectively maintain skin elasticity. This study is a development of research that has been conducted previously by researchers related to Striae gravidarum and Virgin Coconut Oil. Aims: The purpose of this study was to conduct a comparative study regarding the more significant effectiveness of using Virgin Coconut Oil and Olive Oil on the degree of Striae gravidarum. Methods: This research uses quasi experiment. with Pretest Posttest Control Group Design. The population of this study were all pregnant women in Errabu Village, Bluto District, Sumenep Regency. The sample is Trimester II pregnant women in Errabu Village using purposive sampling method. Data analysis will use a significance level of <0.5 then compare whether VCO or Olive Oil has the most significant effect in reducing the degree of Striae Gravidarum. Results: The results of the analysis show that the p-value of 0.04 < α (0.05) so that H1 is accepted, H0 is rejected, which means there is a difference in the effectiveness of using Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and Olive Oil on reducing the degree of Striae Gravidarum in pregnant women, although both oils are equally effective in reducing the degree of striae gravidarum. Conclusion: VCO is more effective than olive oil in reducing the degree of striae gravidarum in second trimester pregnant women in Errabu Village, Sumenep District. Keyword: Virgin Coconut Oil; Olive Oil; Striae Gravidarum

Abstract

Education is an institutional mechanism that can accelerate the development of national character. The factors that influence the decline of the Indonesian nation are mental decay and the collapse of morals, both in the older generation and also in the younger generation, both in the ranks of government and among the wider community. These things resulted in the Indonesian nation experiencing setbacks in various positions in the world. To overcome these problems, the Indonesian nation must foster and build life by instilling positive values so that the Indonesian nation has a positive character and is able to compete with other countries in the era of globalization. The character of education that has great opportunities to carry out the process of fostering and developing humanity is education that is based on noble morals, namely Islamic education that combines 'aqidah, shari'ah, and morals in a learning structure that has an Islamic moral character. In overcoming the problems of national life, it is necessary to realize character education in educational development, both formal, non-formal and informal education, starting in the family environment, at the early childhood, childhood and adult levels. Inner improvement is the basis for external improvement, and external improvement will not be permanent unless it is carried out centrally and has an influence on inner improvement. One of the virtues of Al-Islam for humanity is the existence of a complete and consistent method in developing mental development, giving birth to generations, developing people and culture, and enforcing the principles of glory and civilization. Children's educators must continue to look for more effective methods, look for educational principles that are influential in preparing children mentally and morally, scientifically, spiritually and socially, so that children can achieve perfect maturity.
