Abstract

The background of this research was the development of blended learning in teaching mathematics. This study aimed to determine the benefits of blended learning in teaching mathematics by analyzing previous research. The method in this study is a systematic literature review (SLR), it descriptive based survey in the form of an analysis of 25 articles from the Science Direct database in the 2010-2020 period. The results showed that there are many benefits of blended learning in mathematic, which includes:  to improve mathematical thinking skills, develop good perceptions, improve learning outcomes, increase self-regulation, increase thinking/problem-solving skills, improve communication skills, increase student participation, simplify the assessment process, increase computational thinking skills, and critical thinking skills. The most significant benefit of blended learning is student learning outcomes, shown in 52% of the articles. The research implies the importance of supporting teachers in identifying the objectives of blended learning.

Abstract

The basic concepts that students have in mathematics need more attention because these basic concepts will have an influence in understanding other mathematical concepts at a higher level. One of the basic concepts in mathematics is the concept of fractions. The concept of fractions was chosen in this study because of several things, first, fractions are an important concept in mathematics, second, the concept of fractions is one of the first abstract concepts that students learn in mathematics, and third, there are still many students who make mistakes when working on problems related to fractions. This study used a qualitative method with a case study design and involved 31 students of grade 7 junior high school in Bandung district. The triangulation technique used in this study is observation, tests, and interviews. The results showed that three were learning obstacle that was found by students including, 1) Ontogenic obstacle which is psychological, where students had weak motivation when learning the concept of fractions, 2) didactical obstacle, where students only gathered on procedural knowledge when learning the concept of fraction, and 3) epistemological obstacle, where there is a limited understanding of students regarding the operations of counting integers with fractions

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this study was to ascertain high school students' proportional reasoning in the sense of the COVID-19 pandemic. How do students' thoughts flow when confronted with problems requiring proportional reasoning? This research is a mixed study by collecting data through problem-solving questions to 253 junior high school students in Muaro Jambi, Jambi Province, Indonesia. The problem-solving activities are based on real-world scenarios and require reasoning that is proportional and pertinent to the COVID-19 pandemic context. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the test is administered through the Whatsapp framework. Students' responses are examined in detail to ascertain their proportional reasoning skills. The results indicate that almost all students correctly answered the first question. However, only a small percentage of students were able to answer to and make the correct argument for the second question. The findings indicated that students demonstrated a reasonable level of proportional reasoning when confronted with the COVID-19 pandemic situation. According to the findings of this report, it is important for teachers of mathematics to establish learning activities and problem-solving tasks that help students improve their proportional reasoning skills. Keywords: COVID-19; Problem Solving; Proportional Reasoning; Real-World Situations AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menggali penalaran proporsional siswa SMA  dengan konteks pandemi COVID-19. Bagaimana alur pemikiran siswa ketika dihadapkan pada masalah yang membutuhkan penalaran proporsional? Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian campuran dengan pengumpulan data melalui pertanyaan pemecahan masalah kepada 253 siswa SMP di Muaro Jambi, Provinsi Jambi, Indonesia. Kegiatan pemecahan masalah didasarkan pada skenario dunia nyata dan membutuhkan penalaran yang proporsional dan relevan dengan konteks pandemi COVID-19. Karena pandemi COVID-19 yang sedang berlangsung, tes dikirim melalui aplikasi Whatsapp. Tanggapan siswa diperiksa secara rinci untuk memastikan kemampuan penalaran proporsional mereka. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa hampir semua siswa menjawab pertanyaan pertama dengan benar. Namun, hanya sebagian kecil siswa yang mampu menjawab dan membuat argumen yang benar untuk pertanyaan kedua. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa memiliki alur penalaran proporsional yang cukup baik dengan menggunakan konteks kondisi pandemi COVID-19. Menurut temuan  ini, penting bagi guru matematika untuk menetapkan kegiatan pembelajaran dan tugas pemecahan masalah yang membantu siswa meningkatkan keterampilan penalaran proporsional mereka. Kata kunci: COVID-19; Pemecahan Masalah; Penalaran Proporsional; Situasi Dunia

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan realistik di SLTP Negeri 1 Lembang, pada pokok bahasan Garis-garis yang sejajar. Selain dari pada itu penelitian ini menggali informasi apakah pembelajaran realistik membantu siswa memahami matematika secara bermakna. Dalam menerapkan pendekatan ini digunakan paradigma penelitian “Developmental Research” bermula dari proses desain, development dan evaluasi pelaksanaan proses desain ini. Dilaksanakan sejak Juni 2001 sampai dengan Nopember 2001. Analisis terhadap hasil penelitian ini difokuskan kepada pengembangan strategi guru mengajar, dan juga strategi siswa memberikan jawaban. Adapun tentang minat, sikap, serta tanggapan para siswa terhadap pembelajaran matematika dengan menggunakan pendekatan realistik merupakan informasi tambahan untuk mendukung strategi yang dikembangkan oleh guru secara empirik dan strategi pembelajaran secara teoritik.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam mengimplementasikan pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan ini, guru sebagian menggunakan strategi yang ditulis secara teoritik, namun sebagian waktu lagi belum bisa menerapkan sehubungan masih melekat kebiasaan pembelajaran sehari-hari yang masih menggunakan pendekatan bersifat mekanistik. Untuk dapat mengimplemen-tasikan pembelajaran matematika dengan pendekatan realistik, perlu pemahaman lebih lanjut filosofi pembelajaran realistik, dan implementasi secara berkesinambungan untuk topik-topik lain dalam matematika.

Abstract

ABSTRAKBeberapa latar belakang dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa pengajaran matematika saat ini masih menekankan pada metode ekspositori, komunikasi satu arah, dan penggunaan pendekatan kapur dan bicara. Sebagian besar kinerja siswa dalam pengajaran matematika hanya menonton guru memecahkan masalah di papan tulis . Kurang kesempatan diberikan kepada siswa untuk melakukan matematika kreatif untuk menunjukkan kegiatan mereka. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan kemampuan mahasiswa dalam matematika pemodelan dan mengajar matematika menggunakan model untuk siswa sekolah menengah pertama dan atas. Bahan awal dan workshop pemodelan matematika dilakukan untuk sejumlah guru dan mahasiswa. Empat mahasiswa terlibat dalam penelitian pemodelan matematika bersama dengan tim peneliti. Dengan menggunakan model matematika memungkin bagi siswa untuk menemukan kembali konsep-konsep matematika, prosedur, atau hukum matematika yang telah ditemukan oleh matematikawan sebelumnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemodelan matematika meningkatkan komunikasi dalam matematika, kompetensi siswa dalam matematika strategis, kemampuan dalam pemecahan masalah dan penalaran adaptif siswa. Model matematika ini juga memuncul sikap positif terhadap matematika bahwa kegiatan model matematika yang menarik, membantu siswa untuk memahami konsep-konsep matematika , dan memberikan kesempatan bagi siswa untuk mengkomunikasikan ide-ide matematika mereka. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa mampu untuk mengajar matematika dengan proses pemodelan berdasarkan pendekatan realistis.ABSTRACTSome background of this research are that current mathematics teaching still emphasize on the expository method, one way communication, and chalk and talk approaches. Most of students’ performance in mathematics teaching are watching the teacher solved the problems on the chalkboard. Less opportunity is given to the students for doing mathematics creatively to show their activities. The aim of this study is to develop university students’ ability in mathematical modeling and teaching mathematics using modeling for junior as well as senior secondary students. The initial materials and the workshop on mathematical modeling were conducted for a number of teachers and university students. Four university students were involved in mathematical modeling research along with the research team. By using mathematical modeling, it is possible for students to reinvent mathematical concepts, procedures, or the law of mathematics which has been discovered by mathematicians previously. Results indicated that mathematics modeling improved students’ communication in mathematics, students’ competence in mathematical strategic, students’ ability in problem solving and students’ adaptive reasoning. This mathematical model also emerged positive attitude towards mathematics that mathematical model activities were interesting, help students to understand mathematical concepts, and to give opportunity for students to communicate their mathematical ideas. This indicates that the university students were able to teach mathematics by modeling process based on the realistic approaches.

Abstract

ABSTRAKSalah satu kompetensi inti sebagai guru matematika adalah kompetensi pedagogi yaitu mengembangkan kurikulum (enacted curriculum) dalam mata pelajaran matematika. Dalam Pendidikan Profesi Guru (PPG) Matematika di Universitas Pendidikan Bandung (UPI), kemampuan pedagogi ini dilatih melalui workshop yang disebut subject specific pedagogy (SSP). Tujuan dari kajian ini adalah mengembangkan suatu model/prosedur workshop yang efektif dalam mendorong peserta PPG untuk meningkatkan kompetensi pedagoginya. Model ini dikembangkan atas dasar teori segitiga didaktik antara siswa, guru dan materi yang meliputi Hubungan Didaktik (HD), Hubungan Pedagogik (HP) dan Antisipasi Didaktik-Pedagogik (ADP). Dengan mengikuti prosedur workshop yang telah ditetapkan ini, diperoleh desain pembelajaran matematika yang baru dan efektif. Hal ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan kompetensi pedagogik para peserta PPG. Kelemahan peserta akan penguasaan materi dapat diatasi melalui pendalaman kembali (repersonalisasi) sebagai tugas mandiri, sedangkan kelemahan dalam memprediksi respon siswa dapat diatasi dengan memberikan para peserta pengalaman dalam mengobservasi dan refleksi.ABSTRACTOne of the core competencies as a mathematics teacher is pedagogy competency, i.e competency to develops curriculum competencies (enacted curriculum) in mathematics. In Mathematics Professional Teacher Education (PPG) in UPI Bandung, this pedagogy ability are trained through the workshop called the Subject-Specific Pedagogy (SSP). The purpose of this study was to develop a workshop model that are expected to be effective in encouraging PPG participants to improve pedagogic competence. This model was developed based on the theory of didactic triangle between students, teachers and course material that covers the didactic relationship (HD), the pedagogy relationship (HP) and didactic-pedagogic anticipation (ADP). By following the established procedure of this workshop, some new math learning designs produced were more effective. This shows an increase in pedagogical competence of the PPG participants. Participants weakness in terms of their material mastery can be overcome through repersonalization as an independent task, while weakness concerning their ability to predict student response can be overcome by giving participants experience in observing and reflecting.

Abstract

ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi dan kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada matematika dengan jenis percobaan kuasi-penelitian menggunakan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa di sekolah SMP di Pekanbaru, dan ekstraksi sampel dalam penelitian ini dengan teknik purposive sampling. Sampel adalah mahasiswa di kelas IX di SMP. Dalam penelitian ini dibandingkan dua kelompok, yaitu belajar dengan Strategi REACT untuk kelompok eksperimen dan pembelajaran konvensional untuk kelompok kontrol. Masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 39 siswa dibagi menjadi tiga kategori kemampuan matematika siswa terhadap siswa yang berbeda mampu tinggi, menengah, dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam bentuk tes dan non-tes. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah (1) peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematika untuk memperoleh pembelajaran dengan strategi REAKSI lebih baik daripada siswa yang menerima pembelajaran konvensional, (2) tidak ada perbedaan dalam matematika kemampuan komunikasi antara siswa yang sangat Dan siswa menengah yang memperoleh REAKSI strategi; (3 ) ada peningkatan perbedaan kemampuan komunikasi antara siswa yang memperoleh dengan REAKSI strategi dengan siswa yang memperoleh pembelajaran dengan konvensional dan kategori kemampuan matematika siswa, (4) terdapat interaksi antara pembelajaran dan kategori kemampuan matematika siswa fo dalam kemampuan peningkatan komunikasi matematika , (5) strategi REAKSI efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi matematika siswa.ABSTRACTThe objective of this research is to improve of communication ability and problem solving ability on mathematics with the kind of the research quasi-experiment using design control group nonequivalent. The populations in this research was the entire student in junior high school in Pekanbaru, and the extraction of sampling in this research with purposive sampling technique. The sampel is student on grade IX in Junior High School. In this research compared two groups, namely learning by REACT Strategy for experiment group and the conventional learning for control group. Each group consisted of 39 students are divided into three categories of mathematical ability of student to different students capable of high, medium, and low. Instrument used in the form of test and non-test. The result obtained are (1) improvement of communication ability mathematics to obtain learning with REACT strategy better than students who received conventional learning; (2) there is no difference in communication ability mathematics between highly students dan medium students who obtain REACT strategy; (3) there is a difference improvement communication ability between students who obtain by REACT strategy with students who obtain with convensional learning and categories of mathematical abilities of students; (4) there is interaction between learning and categories of mathematical abilities fo students in improvement mathematical communication ability; (5) strategies REACT effectively to enhance student’ mathematical communication ability.

Abstract

Artikel ini berisi tentang hasil uji coba pembelajaran Grafik Fungsi Trigonometri dengan pendekatan realistik yang merupakan suatu perubahan paradigma dalam pendidikan matematika di Indonesia. Uji coba menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan motivasi belajar matematika siswa khususnya pada pokok bahasan Grafik Fungsi Trigonomeri, serta siswa dapat lebih memahami suatu konsep dan kosep tersebut dapat diingat oleh siswa lebih lama.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine implementing process standard, on planning and implementing which arranged and conducted by math education students. This research method was qualitative study. The research subject consisted of 37 students. The instruments were analysis of lesson plan and learning activity. The analysis technique used data collection, data reduction, data presentation and data verification. The result showed that : 1) overall lesson plan arranged by students has implemented standard process; 2) implementation of learning mathematics has been done by students was lack of implementing standard process. Particularly on student motivating aspect, implementation of learning method, utilization of learning media, management of student centered classroom and the role of teacher was more a source of learning and as an advisor than as a facilitator and motivator; 3) the compatibility level between lesson plan and learning activity were at low level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to confirm the factors that influence the sociomathematics norm. The method used in this research is the ex post facto. The subjects in this study were seventh-grade junior high school students in the city of Yogyakarta, Indonesia (264 students) taken by cluster random sampling. The instrument used was a sociomathematics norm observation sheet consisting of four factors are (1) the experience of mathematics, (2) the explanation of the mathematics, (3) mathematical differences, (4) mathematical communication. Data analysis using structural equation models with the Confirmatory Factors Analysis. The results showed that the modified path analysis obtained goodness of fit mostly in the fit category, so overall the sample covariance matrix is the same as the estimated covariance matrix.
