The purpose of the study was to describe the profile of students' problem-solving skills through the application of problem-based learning models in terms of gender differences. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The research population was students of class VIII A SMPN 19 Bengkulu Selatan. The research instrument used was a problem-solving skills test. The data collection technique used a test in the form of a description question. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics. The results showed that, the average of female students' completeness results increased by 72.5, and the average of male students' indicator completeness increased by 73.5 This shows that, male students' problem-solving skills are greater than female students. The average value of male students is 0.36, with a moderate category, and the average value of female students is 0.48, with a moderate category. This shows that there are differences in problem solving skills between male students and female students. The conclusion in this study is that female students' problem-solving skills are higher than male students.

Higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) have become a focus in the goal of providing education in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze the extent to which research that seeks HOTS in Indonesia is developed especially in relation to facing the 21st century, at present. The analysis is carried out on articles published nationally and internationally. The analysis was conducted on 26 articles indexed by SINTA and DOAJ. The findings show that research on higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in Indonesia is dominated by the development of instruments used to measure students' HOTS as well as the application of learning using innovative methods to improve HOTS. Scientific disciplines developed on the basis of higher-order thinking skills are also very diverse with students in universities as a sample that is often used. HOTS is defined as based on the notion of a problem-solving thinking framework, Bloom's cognitive domain and its revisions, and HOTS Climate Change which emphasizes the level of innovation development. Most sample sizes are in the range of 50-100 samples. The most frequently used research design is RnD research

This study aims to determine students’ self-efficacy in Science learning. In addition, this study also aims to determine whether there is a difference of students’ self-efficacy in Science learning according to gender. The research subjects were 34 students SMP Negeri 14 Yogyakarta consisting of 14 female students and 20 male students. The research instrument used is a questionnaire containing four indicators of self-efficacy in Science learning and 13 sub-indicators. The research analysis used is descriptive statistics and T-test. The results showed that the students' self-efficacy in Science learning is at a moderate level with a mean of 3.66. The mean in the female group is 3.68 (moderate) and the male group is 3.65 (moderate). The results of the T-test analysis showed that there is no difference in students’ self-efficacy in Science learning between groups of female and male students. The results of this study only contain a small sample, therefore it is hoped that there will be further research using a wider sample

The research aimed to determine teaching materials that matched the characteristics of students to provide a stimulus to critical thinking skills to solve problems in learning science. In science learning, critical thinking is an important basic competency because it is a skill developed through an educational process that begins with analyzing classroom problems, analyzing curriculum, analyzing student characteristics, and analyzing natural science learning resources. The research conducted is descriptive qualitative. Researchers describe the data obtained related to the object to obtain conclusions. Researchers apply the interactive model put forward by Miles and Huberman including data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The subjects of this study included class VIII students at SMPN 5 Padang. Data collection was carried out through interviews with teachers and student observation in order to obtain information related to student characteristics, learning models, and views on students' needs in teaching materials. The findings show that students and teachers need learning tools in the form of student worksheets teaching materials to stimulate critical thinking skills using the STEM integrated inquiry based learning model.

The existence of mobile devices and advances in technology has made mobile learning one of the learning trends in schools ranging from elementary to high school and even college in Indonesia. This content analysis research aims to systematically analyze trends in the development of mobile learning in Indonesia based on analysis of articles found in international and national journals. Based on the search results obtained 61 articles. Article analysis uses the Paper Classification Form (PCF) instrument which has been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the results of the analysis, the most widely used research method for mobile learning is Quasi-Experiment (44%) by testing the results of Research and Development (82%) of mobile learning products. Most mobile learning is for high school students (57%). Android Mobile Learning Apps (52%) are the most widely used mobile learning products in research. Learning outcomes (19%) are the most dominant bond variables related to mobile learning. This result can be used as a reference for research on the development of mobile learning media using the Android platform in science learning in schools.

Learning retention is the ability of students to remember learning material after some time. The use of videoscribe animation-based science e-modules that can increase learning retention is rarely developed. The research aims to determine students' learning retention after using the videoscribe animation-based science E-module. This research is quantitative descriptive. The sample selection using cluster random sampling selected students from class VII.B of SMPN 5 Depok, Yogyakarta with a total of 32 students. The data collection technique is a test technique using a pretest and posttest question instrument totaling 6 questions. The test instrument is in the form of multiple-choice questions, to determine student retention, a retest is carried out one week after the posttest activity. The data analysis technique is quantitative descriptive to determine the score presentation. The pretest score percentage was 43.31% in the fair category, the posttest was 79.17% in the good category, and the retest score was 91.14% in the very good category. The use of videoscribe animation-based science e-modules influences student learning retention with the average being in the good category, indicating that student retention has increased after being taught using videoscribe animation-based e-modules

Science learning is still not integrated with the surrounding environment so that students tend not to be able to recognize the local wisdom of their area. Even though science learning contains local wisdom, it can increase students' love of local culture, creating contextual and meaningful learning. To overcome this, research was carried out through the development of a science e-book containing gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE. This development research aims to (1) determine the validity of a science e-book containing gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE (2) find out student’s love local culture. This study uses the Thiagarajan 4D development model (Four-D Model), which consists of four stages, namely the definition stage, the design stage, and the development stage. The dissemination stage was not carried out, this research was only limited to product feasibility testing. The research design used was the one-group posttest-only design. The sample in this study was class VIII E, totaling 32 people. The collection techniques used were questionnaires and documentation. The results of the material expert validity test showed that the science e-book containing gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE was declared very valid with an Aiken's V value of 0.992 and the validity of the teaching material expert showed that the science e-book containing gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE was declared very valid with Aiken's V score of 1.0. Students' love of local culture after using the science e-book containing local gamelan's local wisdom based on STEAM-POE shows a score of 3.266 in the very good category. Students' love of local culture also gets a variable score of 52.5 which is included in the high category.

Electronic modules are teaching materials that are systematically arranged to achieve learning objectives in electronic form with which includes writing, animation, video, and navigation that makes learning more interesting, interactive, active, and motivating which can facilitate students' problem solving skills. This study aims to see whether there is an increase in students' problem solving skills after using PBL-based el-modules. The method in this research is research and development, which is a research method used to produce and test the feasibility of certain products. The subjects of this study were second semester students who were taking basic physics courses. This research was conducted at the Physics Education Study Program of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University with the subject matter of "Effort and Energy". This research used pre-test and post-test one group design. The results of this study indicate that the science el-module PBL model can improve students' problem solving skills as shown by the results of the normalized gain test of 0.70. It was concluded that there was a significant increase in the post-test results which indicated that the el-modulemade could be used to improve problem solving skills.

Technological evolution had a big impact on the world of education, one of them is the progress of teaching materials used in learning. The electronic module (e-Module) is one of the teaching stuff evolution using technological assistance. Electronic modules require innovation in order to have appeal by being integrated into the SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society) learning model. The research aims to describe students responses to the developed electronic module. The research method used is descriptive quantitative research method with the aim of analysis of students responses to the SETS-based e-Module innovation. The response test subjects consisted of 61 students of class VIII C and VIII D of SMP Negeri 2 Depok. The research results of the developed SETS (Science, Environment, Technology, and Society)-based electronic module obtained an average student response test score of 75.16% in the very good category which indicates that the developed electronic module obtained a very good response from students.

This article is a literature review article related to Higher Order Thinking Skill (HOTS)-based learning and its supporting components as one of the efforts in facing current educational challenges. The purpose of this article is to describe higher order thinking learning and it’s supporting components in successful learning. The data collection method used is literature study from various research reference sources and authors. The demand for increasing critical thinking skills can be overcome with real HOTS-based learning. Less than optimal achievement of HOTS-based learning objectives can occur due to lack of attention to supporting components in implementing HOTS-based learning. It is important to know and examine the supporting components in HOTS-based learning, including Teacher Competence, Facilities and Technology, Strategy, Student Motivation.
