Abstract

This study aims to analyze the urgency of amending Supreme Court Regulation No. 1 of 2020 concerning Guidelines for the Imposition of Penalties under Articles 2 and 3 of the Corruption Criminal Law (Perma 1/2020). This study uses a normative legal research method with a legislative approach, a case approach, and a comparative law approach. Perma 1/2020 is a responsive measure to address the issue of unwarranted disparity in corruption criminal case rulings. However, to date, the application of Perma 1/2020 has not been consistently applied by judges in adjudicating corruption offenders, particularly those involved in Articles 2 and 3 of the Corruption Criminal Law. Therefore, stronger legal reinforcement is needed to ensure that Perma 1/2020 can be consistently implemented in every criminal corruption case decision.

Abstract

Introduction: One of the government hospitals in South Sulawesi is facing various challenges related to nurses' working conditions, such as work stress. Preliminary data show that high work pressure, the nursing shift system, and the ratio of nurses to patients contribute to this condition and are predicted as risk factors that can affect the quality of work life for nurses. Methods: This study aim is to examine how organizational and job-related factors affect hospital nurses' work stress at regional hospital. Using a cross-sectional methodology, this study included 167 nurses out of 287 who were chosen by accident sampling. Questionnaires, observations, and interviews were used to gather data, which were then subjected to linear regression analysis (95% CI; α=0.05). Results: The results of this study indicate that work stress is significantly influenced by the job factor (p=0.000; β=0.415) and organizational factor (p=0.011; β= -0.229). Emotional demands are the most influential component of job factors on the emergence of stress. Conclusion: High job demands, especially emotional burden, significantly increase nurses' work stress, whereas good organizational support can reduce it. These findings indicate the importance of reducing emotional burden and increasing institutional support through mental resilience training, structured debriefing sessions, peer support systems, and psychological counseling services. The results of this study can also be used as a basis for policy making by hospital leaders to be more supportive of nurses' mental well-being and the sustainability of health service quality.

Abstract

In the context of 21st-century education and the growing importance of communicative competence, oral instruction in English as a foreign language (EFL) classrooms faces increasing expectations and ongoing challenges. The current Indonesian high school classroom, marked by the “Kurikulum Merdeka”, requires instructional strategies that promote student engagement, collaboration, and meaningful oral communication. This paper discusses how role play can be integrated into English teaching at the senior high school level in Indonesia to strengthen students’ oral communication skills. Based on the principles of communicative language teaching, sociocultural theory, and cooperative learning, role-play is viewed not only as a teaching activity but also as a strategic framework for language development. This article synthesizes relevant theoretical and empirical literature highlights the transformative potential of role-play, and proposes a practical framework for its implementation in Indonesian classrooms. Considering challenges such as teacher preparation, class size, and assessment focus, and then propose strategic considerations to address these challenges. By repositioning role-play as a reflective, student-centered process rather than a performance-oriented task, this article advocates for its inclusion as a core component of oral instruction. Role-play not only promotes language development but also enables EFL learners to build confidence, empathy, and autonomy, which are essential for developing 21st-century communication competence.

Abstract

Amidst the onslaught of modernization, traditional handicrafts still hold a unique appeal. One such craft is blacksmithing. Blacksmiths, despite their high level of skill in producing handicrafts, often face serious health and safety risks due to exposure to burning, heavy equipment use, and direct contact with hazardous materials. Observations at the partner site revealed workplace accidents such as burns (35.8%), contact with hot iron (58.7%), and being struck by iron materials (35%) due to the nature of their work. Based on these issues, community service activities were conducted in the form of education on the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as an effort to limit disabilities among iron craftsmen. The results of the education on the benefits of PPE showed an increase in knowledge, attitude, and behavior, with pre-test results of 65%, 77%, and 85%, respectively, and post-test results of 83%, 89%, and 91%, respectively. In the results of the education on the benefits of fire extinguishers, there was an increase in knowledge, attitude, and behavior, with pre-test results of 75%, 80%, and 85%, respectively, and post-test results of 88%, 83%, and 90%, respectively. It can be concluded that the effectiveness of this community service program was successful

Abstract

Water is the fundamental basis for all biological and human activities. Water is believed to be a natural resource that will never run out and will always be available at all times. Nonetheless, the availability of water as a natural resource is restrained due to its relatively constant hydrological cycle; thus making it limited in supply. The methods used during the activity were lectures and discussions. At the beginning of the activity, the team conducted counseling related to well water sanitation and its impact and how to overcome it. The method of this counseling stage is carried out through 5 stages, namely: socialization stage, implementation stage. This activity includes 3 sessions, among others: First stage: Pre test, which is given through a questionnaire, through lecture, question and answer, and discussion methods Post test and assessing the results of the post test, technology application stage, monitoring and evaluation stage, program sustainability stage. The results of the service activities showed that the educational program on access to clean water sanitation and the effects of borehole water for health succeeded in significantly increasing the knowledge of the participants. The average score increased from 19.22 in the pre-test to 21.18 in the post-test, with a p-value of 0.001 which shows a significant difference. This result confirms the effectiveness of the clean water sanitation education program.
