Abstract

The process of removing the skin covering the tip of the penis is known as circumcision. The law of circumcision for boys in Islam is mandatory. The goal is not only to obey religious orders, but also to prevent feces from sticking to the penis, making urination easier, and reducing the pleasure of intercourse. Apart from that, there are many benefits of circumcision after doing it, but there are still children who don't know what circumcision is and its benefits based on data analysis. The community will be given free circumcisions to carry out one of the Tridharma activities of higher education which is being carried out in Batam City. At this stage, the children were circumcised by doctors from Budi Kemuliaan Hospital, assisted by lecturers from the Kartina Batam Health Academy and lecturers from the Putra Jaya Health Analytical Academy, Batam. After the circumcision process, it is checked again after 3 days. Through the implementation of Community Service in 2024, the target of this activity is to provide education to the public to avoid various kinds of genital diseases, so that public health can be more guaranteed. Circumcision not only functions to clean vital human organs, but circumcision has many health benefits, including AIDS, penile cancer, prostate cancer and urinary tract infections.

Abstract

Increasing tobacco control has been mandated as part of Indonesia's 2020-2024 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN), because Indonesia is currently one of the countries with the highest prevalence of smoking. On the other hand, Indonesia's position as one of the largest tobacco producers requires an appropriate reduction strategy, particularly in relation to the illicit tobacco trade. Therefore, a solid and sufficient intrasectoral collaboration strategy needs to be identified. Malang Regency was chosen as the focus area in this study to study collaborative governance policies between the central and local governments in the form of decentralization in order to provide coping strategies in combating the illegal tobacco trade.

Abstract

Derived from the dimension of locality, terebang merges Sundanese ethnic and Islamic elements into a distinctive music genre. This article explores the forms of the Sundanese Islamic musical genre and how this genre is utilized at Islamic ritual events and on the urban stage. With the involvement of cultural activists supporting the Candralijaya band, this research also examines the challenges and criticisms from various groups concerning the integration of ethnicity and Islam. Based on an ethnographic expedition in Tasikmalaya, West Java, the findings reveal a unique significance in this genre that is not evident in other parts of Indonesia or the Muslim world, such as in the Middle East and Pakistan. This study highlights the importance of expressing 'Sundanese-Islamic feelings' through musical performance art. It argues that this music genre embodies a vernacular meaning born from two distinct origins, yet it has created a distinctive genre. This confirms that both sources maintain specific boundaries, each with its own unique 'flavors.' Future studies could explore how these musical performances can foster intercultural dialogue and understanding in diverse societies, potentially serving as a bridge between different religious and ethnic communities.

Abstract

Community service has been completed by a community service team from the Politeknik Negeri Padang (PNP) in South Solok Regency. The purpose of this community service is to help the community in the construction of a suspension bridge in the village of Aai Manyuruak, Bumi Ayu Village, South Solok Regency. This community service can be carried out thanks to cooperation between the community and donors. The results of this dedication show that universities feel compelled to devote their knowledge to helping build suspension bridges that have been cut off, and have not been rebuilt due to lack of funds. The participation of donors and the community as well as the PNP community service team in the construction of the suspension bridge in Bumi Ayu village was entirely due to community activities carried out in mutual cooperation. Therefore, the construction of this suspension bridge is highly anticipated by the community in running the economy and access to education. In planning the construction of a suspension bridge, the community is fully involved, from planning to implementation. With the completion of the construction of this suspension bridge, the community and children going to school no longer need to take alternative roads which are quite far away.

Abstract

Vietnam's trade balance was positive with the United States, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Austria. However, it was negative in several countries, including South Korea, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, and Argentina. This paper aims to investigate the asymmetric effects of several macroeconomic factors on Vietnam's trade balance in the post-global financial crisis era. This paper aims to capture better the nuanced effects of free trade agreements on Vietnam's trade balance. Using regression methods like Pooled OLS, Random Effect Model, Fixed Effect Model, and Hausman Taylor, it analyzes factors affecting bilateral trade with Comprehensive Economic Partnership for East Asia nations. These factors include gross domestic product (GDP), population, distance, exchange rates, national borders, and Free Trade Agreements. Findings suggest that GDP, population, and exchange rates significantly influence Vietnam's trade relationships, but free trade agreements have not yielded the expected results. This study's novelty lies in its exploration of comprehensive regression analysis, offering valuable insights into Vietnam's trade dynamics.

Abstract

Decentralization and local democracy are two inseparable elements of post-New Order Indonesia development politics. Furthermore, the quality of decentralization to a certain extent is influenced by the depth and quality of local democratic practices. This study reveals that decentralization is not only an arena of competition between local elites in possession of capital through local democratic institutions, but also an arena in which grassroots groups (peasants) could fight for their land rights. This study observes that local democratic procedures and institutions that are practiced in unison with decentralization are not utilized by the lower classes in the struggle for their rights. This shows the failure of local democratic institutions from taking root in the marginal groups. The success of peasant movements in the struggle for their rights and the practice of local elite domination of the decentralization arena does not come out of the blue, but is related to the history of the formation of the agrarian structure and social class. This study concludes that on one side, local elites trust democratic institutions and procedures to achieve their goals, while on the other side the grassroots have their own logic on how local democracy should have been practiced, namely by not separating practice of local democracy from the missions of justice and social welfare for the common good.

Abstract

The new normal era requires all activities to be online, so that people use more public services. However, at the same time the level of complaints has increased, from the many complaints that have been received, it must be known, which one is the correct complaint according to the location of the incident or is it just an act of ignorant hands. So that a special strategy is needed, by utilizing technology to determine the location of the incident accu-rately. One of the implementations of complaint handling by the whistleblower is that the reporter uses a smartphone. This is the reason the researchers raised the application of geotagging techniques to find out complete location information and geofencing methods to determine whether a location is included in the scope of an area. Several experiments have been carried out to test the accuracy of the techniques that will be applied to this e-complaint system. With an accuracy of 96%, this geofencing technique is good enough to be applied. In addition, the geotagging technique using EXIF from a digital image is considered the most suitable to be applied in this system than other geotagging techniques.
