Abstract

Information technology development has had positive and negative impacts on the education sector. One of the negative impacts is the emergence of new bullying behaviour by utilizing information technology online or cyberbullying behaviour. Previous studies have examined that cyberbullying is often associated with school climate, psychological capital, and social media addiction. However, until now, limited studies still discuss mediation and moderation relationships between school climate factors, psychological capital, social media addiction, and student cyberbullying behaviour. This study involved 384 high school students from six public and private high schools in Magelang, Indonesia. The study's results explain that cyberbullying behaviour is influenced by school climate and students' psychological capital. Psychological capital is positively influenced by school climate. In addition, psychological capital has successfully mediated the effects of school climate on high school students' cyberbullying behaviour. And finally, social media addiction is proven to moderate the effects of school climate and high school students' cyberbullying behaviour.

Abstract

Community-based tourism (CBT) is one of the leading tourism concepts in Indonesia currently that carries the concept of from community, by community, and for community. It is hoped that tourism will no longer only focus on profit, but also will provide benefits to the community in order to improve their welfare. One of the provinces in Indonesia that has also adapted the CBT concept is West Sumatra. Currently there are as many as 238 Tourism Villages that already have decrees from the government. So the Sanak Nan Salapan was formed as a team of tourism councelor to help the community empowerment. Consisting eight member that are not only tourism practioner, but also those engaged in the arts and creative economy. In this study, the authors wanted to analyze the role and strategies that have been carried out by Sanak Nan Salapan in empowering the community, and CBT field. The research approach was carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner by interviewing the Sanak Nan Salapan team and also gain information needed from their official Instagram account @sanaknansalapan. After almost two years of providing guidance, training and assistance to the community, it turns out that the problems that arise are still from the readiness, mindset and mentality of the tourism actors themselves. It is quite difficult to find new pioneers who are able to independently develop the CBT concept in their village, therefor the assistance must continue.

Abstract

It cannot be denied that the government, which plays the role of policy maker, and NGOs, which act as policy controllers and supervisors, are an important and inseparable part of development because their orientation (perception, motivation and participation) greatly determine the success of ecotourism development. If previous research looked at their role partially, then in this study their role is analyzed in an integral and integrated manner which refers to the working principle of two human hands, the left hand and the right hand, which, if they work together, complement each other, thus resulting in optimal, qualified and sustainable ecotourism development. This study aims to analyze the continuumof government and NGO perceptions about socio-cultural dynamics in ecotourism development in the research area. This research was conducted in the area, Bogor Regency, West Java, in seven ecotourism destinations namely Ciawi, Caringin, Cibogo, Cipayung, Megamendung, Cisarua, and Tugu. This study uses an exploratory – phenomenology approach. Data collection on social and cultural dynamics was carried out by distributing closed questionnaires to the respondents. The research instrument was a closed ended questionnaire guided by a one score one scoring system indicator (Avenzora, 2008). The polarization of government and NGO perceptions of social values and cultural values is identified from two categories, namely the direction of polarization (polarization direction) and the polarization scale (polarization scale). The results of the study show that the socio-cultural dynamics of this ecotourism area have not fully led to the formation of optimal cultural carrying capacity due to the polarization of the orientation of government and NGO stakeholders on various aspects and assessment criteria. The polarization of stakeholder orientation regarding various socio-cultural aspects has a negative direction with polarization scales that are categorized as aligned so that there is a great opportunity to build productive collaboration between stakeholders in ecotourism development in the area.

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia face major challenges due to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and globalization, which include adaptation to digital technology, expansion of social networks, and integration of Islamic boarding school values in technology-based curricula. This research focuses on the role of social capital in maintaining the relevance of Islamic boarding schools, with Buntet Islamic Boarding School as a case study. Using a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews and participant observation, data was analyzed to identify the daily application of social capital. Findings show that strong social networks, mutual trust, internalized social norms, and cooperation play key roles in the transformation of Islamic boarding schools. The uniqueness of the Buntet Islamic Boarding School can be seen in its ability to build a strong alumni network, facilitate access to new resources, and maintain the identity and values of the Islamic boarding school through a technology-based curriculum. The results of this research have practical implications in the context of education in Indonesia, guiding Islamic boarding schools and other traditional institutions to integrate social capital in their adaptation strategies to face the impacts of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and globalization, maintain sustainability, and increase competitiveness.

Abstract

The symptoms of the weakening of the immoral behavior of the younger generation deserve more and more attention. The problem is how to develop character education based on local wisdom as a solution to this problem? The martial art of pencak silat is one of the local wisdoms of the Indonesian nation in the form of a series of methods of defending oneself from various physical attacks from outside oneself. Pencak silat kuntau is an alternative program to strengthen community character. This study explores the local wisdom values of kuntau martial arts and analyzes the practice of kuntau martial arts in order to strengthen the character of the fighters. Articles from research using a phenomenological approach obtain data through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation related to the learning process of martial arts. It was found that learning in the form of kuntau martial arts training contains character values, at least in the form of responsible and peace-loving behavior. The character of a fighter is formed through exercises, internal and external competitions, interactions before, during and after training and competition, as well as the example of the teacher (trainer). Based on the content of its noble values, kuntau martial art can be disseminated as a medium for strengthening character in society and schools.

Abstract

Community-based tourism is seen as an alternative approach to tourist development due to its emphasis on the active participation of local communities and their potential contribution to its growth. The development of tourist villages is the manifestation of this concept, where local communities can effectively harness the natural resources, cultural assets, and human resources for the benefit of tourists, with the aim of positively impacting the community's economy. Karedok Village in Sumedang Regency has many tourism potentials, although the local community and village government have not effectively taken advantage of these potentials, resulting in a lack of economic benefits from the tourism context. This research tries to evaluate the extent to which the principles of sustainability in Community-based tourism have been implemented in the management of the Karedok Tourism Village. It will examine the five key principles of sustainability, namely economic, social, cultural, environmental, and political sustainability, using a descriptive-qualitative methods. The analysis findings indicate that the implementation of environmental and cultural sustainability principles has been successful. However, the principles of economic, social, and political sustainability have not been effectively implemented. This is reflected from the limited community participation, which impacts the progress of the sustainable tourism development.
