Abstract

Anxiety often accompanies the clinical symptoms of hypertension in patients. Mindfulness stands as a non-pharmacological nursing approach aimed at lowering both blood pressure and anxiety levels. This study aimed to evaluate how effective mindfulness is in lowering blood pressure and reducing anxiety among hypertensive patients. The study employed a case study design with the sample size determined through G*Power analysis. Eight participants were purposively selected for the study. All participants were allocated to a single treatment group. Mindfulness sessions were conducted over eight sessions, with blood pressure measurements taken using a digital sphygmomanometer and anxiety levels assessed using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (Zung-SARS) both before and after the intervention. The study found a significant mean difference in systolic blood pressure (8.25, SD=0.590) mmHg, diastolic blood pressure (4.38, SD=0.962) mmHg, and anxiety levels (48.5, SD=3.63) before and after the intervention. Mindfulness demonstrated statistical significance in reducing both systolic (14(7), p0.001, effect size=4.94) and diastolic (4.55(7), p0.05, effect size=1.61) blood pressure, as well as anxiety levels (25.5(7), p0.001, effect size=8.92). Mindfulness has a positive impact on reducing blood pressure and anxiety in the adult group of patients with hypertension. The application of mindfulness in hypertension management contributes to improving the quality of life of patients. Collaborative efforts between medical personnel and patients need to be encouraged to achieve the best results in hypertension management. Keywords: mindfulness, hypertension, anxiety, adult patient.

Abstract

Waste management is one of the problems considered to be damaging to the environment and disturbing to human health. The increasing population, consumption patterns, and low public awareness of participation in management, coupled with political factors, are considered triggers for the failure of waste management. In an era where waste continues to accumulate and its environmental impact is increasingly felt, the government's role in developing innovative policies is vital. This research aims to explain and analyze policy innovations in waste management in Padang City. The theory used is Allan McConnell's theory of policy innovation success and failure. The method employed is qualitative, utilizing a case study. The results of the study show that there are several programs in waste management in Padang City, starting with Regional Regulation No. 21 of 2012 concerning Waste Management, the integrated waste management program (PERSATU), the distribution of floating nets in various rivers, recycling waste entering malls, reducing the use of plastic bags in malls, thematic eco-enzyme villages, RDF technology, maggot cultivation, One Community Unit, One Waste Bank, One Bentor for Each Urban Village, Civil servants saving in waste bank, and Padang Bagoro. However, of the many waste management programs, the Padang City Government has not been able to reduce the amount of waste from year to year, this condition is caused by the sub- optimal political support from local political parties and this condition is exacerbated by the culture and participation of the community which does not support waste management programs in Padang City.

Abstract

Data on graduate students is an important part in determining the quality of a private and public university. Graduate data is included in important assessments in the accreditation process. Data from Uyelindo Kupang STIKOM graduates every year will continue to grow and accumulate like neglected data because it is rarely used. To maximize student data into information that can be used by universities, the data must be processed in this case used as training data in a study using data mining to obtain information in the form of predictions of graduation from Kupang Uyelindo STIKOM students. The method used in this study is K-Nearest Neighbor using rapidminer software to measure K-Nearest Neighbor's accuracy against student graduate data. The criteria used were in the form of student names, gender, cumulative achievement index (GPA) from semester 1 to 6. In applying the K-Nearest Neighbor algorithm can be used to produce predictions of student graduation. To measure the performance of the k-nearest neighbor algorithm, the Cross Validation, Confusion Matrix and ROC Curves methods are used, in this study using a 5-fold cross validation to predict student graduation. From 100 student dataset records Uyelindo Kupang STIKOM graduates obtained accuracy rate reached 82% and included a very good classification because it has an AUC value between 0.90-1.00, which is 0.971, so it can be concluded that the accuracy of testing of student graduation models using K-Nearest Neighbor (K-NN) algorithm is influenced by the number of data clusters. Accuracy and the highest AUC value of 5-fold validation is to cluster data k = 4 with the accuracy value of 90%.
