Abstract

The development of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the 21st century has brought significant changes to the educational landscape, including the teaching of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) in madrasahs and schools. The integration of ICT enables the learning process to become more effective, creative, collaborative, and relevant to the needs of students in the digital era. This study aims to analyze the role, utilization, and integration of ICT in 21st-century PAI learning through a literature review of various scientific journals and academic sources. The findings show that ICT contributes to improving the quality of PAI learning by providing broad access to information, diverse learning media, enhanced learning motivation, and the strengthening of 4C competencies. Furthermore, the integration of ICT in Islamic education must remain grounded in the values of the Qur’an and Hadith to ensure that learning is not only cognitive but also shapes the character and spirituality of students. This study highlights the importance of teacher readiness, infrastructure, and educational management in optimizing ICT integration to create meaningful and high-quality PAI learning.

Abstract

The crisis of academic integrity in higher education has become a serious challenge in the digital era, marked by the rise of plagiarism, data fabrication, and publications in predatory journals. This study aims to describe the implementation of academic integrity values through the Scientific Literature Review (KALIL) program organized by the PKPT IPNU-IPPNU at UIN Raden Intan Lampung, as well as to identify its supporting and inhibiting factors. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using the case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that PKPT IPNU-IPPNU plays a significant role in instilling values of honesty and academic responsibility through KALIL activities oriented toward scientific writing training, discussions on academic ethics, and the habituation of proper citation. This program also contributes to improving students' scientific literacy and fostering a culture of academic integrity. The main supporting factors for the program's success include the high demand among students for scientific writing training and active support from advisors, while the inhibitors include fluctuating participant attendance, limited facilities, and inconsistency in scheduling. This research reaffirms that collaboration between student organizations and advisors plays a crucial role in building an honest, ethical, and sustainable academic ecosystem within the university environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of deep learning in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) subjects in the Merdeka Curriculum and the factors that influence it. The research problem stems from the suboptimal and uneven application of deep learning in IRE teaching practices at the secondary school level. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through learning observations, in-depth interviews with school principals, IRE teachers, and students, as well as a study of learning tools documentation. Data analysis was conducted interactively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, using George C. Edwards III's policy implementation theoretical framework. The results show that the implementation of deep learning in PAI learning has been adaptive and is beginning to lead to meaningful and reflective learning, but it is not yet fully systemic. The main obstacles include differences in teachers' understanding of the concept of deep learning, limited learning time, limited learning resources, and suboptimal authentic assessment. The conclusion of the study confirms that the success of deep learning implementation in PAI learning is highly determined by the effectiveness of policy communication, resource availability, implementers' disposition, and support from the school bureaucratic structure.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning at the junior high school level should not merely focus on one-way content delivery but should also promote students’ conceptual understanding at the C2 cognitive level (understanding) as a foundation for higher-order thinking. However, learning outcomes remain low, as students have not been able to optimally internalize the material due to conventional & less interactive instructional practices. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the CORE (Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) learning model in improving students’ learning outcomes in PAI. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental method with a post-test only control group design involving 60 students as research participants. Data were collected through a multiple-choice learning achievement test. The normality test results showed significance values of 0.081 & 0.158 (p > 0.05), while the homogeneity test yielded a significance value of 0.763 (p > 0.05), indicating that the data were normally distributed & homogeneous. The independent sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.001 < 0.05 with t = 3.599, indicating a significant difference between the experimental & control groups, with higher learning outcomes observed in the experimental group. These findings imply that the CORE model is effective as a student-centered learning strategy that promotes active engagement, strengthens reflective processes, & assists students in constructing & reinforcing meaningful conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Indonesia's multicultural society demands that Islamic Religious Education (PAI) move beyond cognitive mastery toward internalizing social moral values that foster inclusive, tolerant, and harmonious attitudes. However, current PAI practices often emphasize normative memorization over systematic social-moral integration, which limits students' ability to apply these values in real-life multicultural interactions. This study identifies and classifies the social moral values in Akhlak Lil Banin Volume I and examines their significance to PAI within a multicultural framework. Using a qualitative library research design and content analysis, this study examines Chapters 12, 15, 30, 31, and 32 of the text. The findings reveal a structured and substantive framework consisting of six core values: respect for parents, etiquette toward teachers, solidarity among peers, polite communication, personal responsibility, and social discipline. These values create a relational ethical framework that promotes harmony among groups and are very similar to the core competencies of PAI. The study finds that pedagogical strategies such as role modelling, habituation, and moral reflection can effectively integrate these values. Ultimately, Akhlak Lil Banin serves as an applicable pedagogical reference that strengthens students' religious dimensions while contributing significantly to social harmony in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Islamic Religious Education (PAI), aiming to enhance learning outcomes and address challenges in adapting to modern educational demands. Using a literature review methodology, this research synthesizes studies published between 2015 and 2023, focusing on the effectiveness of ICT tools, the types of digital resources used in PAI, and the barriers faced by educators in implementing these technologies. The findings indicate that ICT significantly improves student engagement, motivation, and comprehension in PAI subjects, particularly through multimedia tools, mobile applications, and e-learning platforms. However, challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, digital literacy among teachers, and the digital divide between urban and rural areas limit the widespread use of ICT in PAI classrooms. The study highlights the need for increased investments in infrastructure and continuous professional development for teachers to bridge these gaps. Additionally, it calls for policy support at both institutional and governmental levels to facilitate the integration of ICT in religious education. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on the specific application of ICT in PAI, offering insights into how digital tools can modernize Islamic education while preserving its core values. The findings provide valuable recommendations for educators and policymakers to enhance ICT integration in PAI and ensure its effective use in the 21st century.

Abstract

This study investigates the effectiveness of the Self-Organized Learning Environment (SOLE) model on students’ learning outcomes in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) and Character Education at SMP Negeri 1 Belitang. The research is motivated by the low level of students’ higher-order thinking skills, limited use of interactive learning models, and low learning motivation, which result in suboptimal learning outcomes. The objective of this study is to analyze whether the SOLE model significantly improves students’ cognitive learning outcomes compared to conventional teaching methods. This research employs a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design, specifically the posttest-only control group design. The sample consists of two classes of eighth-grade students, where one class serves as the experimental group taught using the SOLE model, and the other as the control group taught using conventional methods. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests measuring cognitive levels (C1–C6), and analyzed using statistical tests including validity, reliability, normality, homogeneity, and independent sample t-test. The results indicate that although the SOLE model promotes active, collaborative, and independent learning, the statistical analysis shows no significant difference in learning outcomes between the experimental and control groups at the tested stage (Sig. 0.606 > 0.05). This suggests that while SOLE has potential to enhance engagement and higher-order thinking, its effectiveness in significantly improving measurable learning outcomes requires further optimization and supporting conditions such as learning facilities and implementation strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze trends in scientific publications on principal candidate training using Scopus-indexed data from 2020 to 2024, employing a bibliometric approach supported by VOSviewer. The analyzed articles were selected based on the following relevance criteria: (1) indexed in Scopus, (2) published between 2020 and 2024, (3) directly discussing principal candidate training, educational leadership, or principal competency development, and (4) related to leadership transformation and educational innovation. This study was motivated by the growing need to strengthen school leadership competencies in the era of digital transformation and by the limited number of bibliometric studies that specifically map the development of research on principal candidate training. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method combined with bibliometric analysis. Data were collected using the Publish or Perish application integrated with the Scopus database, with keywords related to principal candidate training, school leadership training, and educational leadership development. The article selection process resulted in 20 publications that met the inclusion criteria. The findings indicate that publication trends have increased significantly since 2021, with major research focuses on transformational leadership development, managerial competencies, the effectiveness of principal training programs, and the integration of digital transformation in educational leadership. The VOSviewer analysis identified four major clusters demonstrating relationships among leadership style, transformational leadership, school leadership, candidate principals, school counsellors, and supervisors. The study reveals a shift in research orientation from traditional administrative leadership to innovative, technology-based educational leadership in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This research contributes theoretically to strengthening the mapping of educational leadership studies and serves as a strategic reference for developing future principal candidate training programs.
