Abstract

Background Stunting remains a multidimensional public health problem in Indonesia, including in Medan. It is influenced by factors such as nutrition, sanitation, parenting, food security, and the effectiveness of public policy governance. To date, stunting management has tended to be sectoral, top-down, and has not optimally utilized the potential of digital technology, particularly social media, as a tool for communication, education, and public participation. Methods This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design in Medan City.   Results Social media functions as an adaptive communication space that accelerates the flow of information, strengthens family nutritional literacy, and opens up two-way feedback between the government and the public. Social media-based adaptive governance practices are characterized by increased policy flexibility, strengthened cross-sector coordination, and growing digital community participation in stunting prevention. Furthermore, this study found that the successful use of social media is largely determined by actor capacity, public trust, and the sustainability of institutional learning. Adaptive Governance based social media is a relevant, innovative, and contextual approach to accelerating stunting reduction in Medan City. Social media has been proven to function not only as a means of disseminating health information but also as an adaptive communication space that enables two- way interaction, continuous policy learning, and strengthened community participation in stunting prevention programs. Conclusions Stunting management in the digital era can no longer be understood solely as a technical health issue, but rather as an adaptive governance process based on learning, collaboration, and two-way communication. In this context, social media serves as a strategic medium that strengthens policy sensitivity to social realities while shortening the gap between policy formulation and implementation.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the financial performance of PT. Gudang Garam Tbk for the 2020-2024 period uses financial ratio analysis which includes profitability ratio, liquidity ratio, solvency ratio, and market value ratio. The research data is obtained from the company's annual financial statements published on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The analysis method used is a quantitative descriptive analysis by calculating Current Ratio, Quick Ratio, Cash Ratio, Debt to Asset Ratio, Debt to Equity Ratio, Return on Asset, Return on Equity, Net Profit Margin, Earning Per Share, Price Earning Ratio, and Price to Book Value in the financial performance report of PT. Gudang Garam Tbk which is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period of 2020 to 2024. The results of the ratio calculation from the financial statements will be interpreted to describe the company's profitability, liquidity, solvency, and market value. The results of the study show that the profitability ratio has decreased drastically with ROA decreasing from 10% (2020) to 1% (2024), ROE from 13% to 2%, and NPM from 6.6% to 0.9%, this states that the Company is in poor financial condition, with the risk of long-term financial difficulties if not addressed immediately. The Company's liquidity ratio fluctuates with the Current Ratio ranging from 183.2%-291.2%, which states that the Company has much larger current assets than current liabilities, specifically indicating very strong liquidity. The solvency ratio shows an improving capital structure in 2024 with a decrease in DAR to 27.1% and DER to 37.1%. The market value ratio shows a negative trend with EPS falling from 397.4% to 50.9%, PER increasing to 26.0%, and PBV decreasing to 0.4%, Where the company's financial health declined sharply, but its valuation in the stock market became expensive relative to its profits. This study concludes that PT. Gudang Garam Tbk faces serious challenges in maintaining profitability which may be caused by strict regulations in the tobacco industry, increasing cigarette excise, and changes in consumer behavior

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of principal’s leadership and infrastructure on the performance of public junior high school teachers in Suak Tapeh District, Banyuasin Regency. This study is motivated by the condition of teachers’ performance that still needs to be improved, as seen from low professionalism, teaching motivation, and limited facilities that support the learning process. While previous studies have focused more on motivation, academic supervision, or teacher competence, this study fills the gap in research by simultaneously examining the influence of principal’s leadership and infrastructure in public schools in rural areas. The approach used is quantitative with an ex post facto method on all 105 public junior high school teachers in Suak Tapeh District and used as a saturated sample. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability, as well as documentation. Data analysis was conducted using simple and multiple linear regression using SPSS version 26. The results showed that principal’s leadership has a positive and significant effect of 29.6% on teachers’ performance, while infrastructure has an effect of 31.7%. Simultaneously, these two variables have an effect of 37.8%. These findings confirm that effective leadership and adequate school facilities play a crucial role in improving teachers’ performance. The novelty of this study lies in combining these two variables in the context of secondary schools in rural Banyuasin.

Abstract

Pemutusan Hubungan Kerja (PHK) yang terjadi akibat dinamika ekonomi dan perubahan struktur dunia kerja berdampak signifikan terhadap meningkatnya pengangguran dan menurunnya kesejahteraan masyarakat di tingkat kelurahan. Kelurahan Mekar Wangi Kota Bogor merupakan salah satu wilayah yang masyarakatnya terdampak PHK dan memerlukan upaya pemberdayaan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan keterampilan ekonomi kreatif sebagai alternatif sumber penghasilan bagi masyarakat terdampak PHK melalui pemanfaatan potensi lokal dan peningkatan kreativitas masyarakat. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan dan potensi masyarakat, penyuluhan mengenai konsep ekonomi kreatif, pelatihan praktik keterampilan, serta pendampingan dalam pengemasan produk dan pemasaran sederhana. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan motivasi peserta dalam mengembangkan usaha ekonomi kreatif, serta meningkatnya kepercayaan diri untuk memulai usaha mandiri. Program ini diharapkan mampu mendorong kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat Kelurahan Mekar Wangi Kota Bogor dan menjadi model pemberdayaan ekonomi kreatif yang dapat diterapkan di wilayah lain dengan karakteristik serupa.

Abstract

Abstract: This Community Service Program aims to improve elementary school students’ spatial and mathematical literacy by enhancing teachers’ competencies in developing and utilizing concrete learning media in the form of plane geometry puzzles based on a deep learning approach. The program was conducted at SD Negeri Inpres Skouw Mabo, Jayapura City, where challenges remain in the effective use of learning media and students’ spatial reasoning abilities. A participatory approach was employed through stages of problem identification, socialization, training, evaluation and reflection, and sustainability planning. Teachers were trained to design, create, and implement plane geometry puzzle media integrating the principles of mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning. The results indicate improved teacher knowledge and skills in developing contextual puzzle-based media aligned with learning outcomes, as well as enhanced understanding of the deep learning approach. The program also increased teachers’ motivation and creativity in fostering active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning. This program was funded by a grant from the Directorate of Research and Community Service (DPPM) through the BIMA platform and has the potential to sustainably improve instructional quality and students’ spatial reasoning and mathematical literacyAbstrak: Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan literasi spasial dan literasi matematika siswa sekolah dasar melalui peningkatan kompetensi guru dalam membuat dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran konkret berupa puzzle bangun datar berbasis pendekatan deep learning. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan di SD Negeri Inpres Skouw Mabo, Kota Jayapura, yang masih menghadapi kendala dalam pemanfaatan media pembelajaran serta rendahnya kemampuan penalaran spasial siswa. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif melalui tahapan identifikasi masalah, sosialisasi, pelatihan, evaluasi dan refleksi, serta perencanaan keberlanjutan program. Pada tahap pelatihan, guru dilatih merancang, membuat, dan menggunakan media puzzle bangun datar yang mengintegrasikan prinsip mindful, meaningful, dan joyful learning. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan guru dalam mengembangkan media pembelajaran puzzle yang kontekstual dan sesuai dengan capaian pembelajaran. Guru juga memiliki pemahaman yang lebih baik mengenai penerapan pendekatan deep learning serta mampu mengkreasikan media puzzle untuk berbagai mata pelajaran. Selain itu, kegiatan ini meningkatkan motivasi dan kreativitas guru dalam menciptakan pembelajaran yang aktif, menyenangkan, dan bermakna. Program ini didanai oleh hibah Direktorat Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (DPPM) melalui platform BIMA dan berpotensi memberikan dampak berkelanjutan terhadap peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran serta pengembangan kemampuan penalaran spasial dan literasi matematika siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berhitung siswa SMP kelas IX dalam hal ketahanan matematika siswa. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP di Bekasi. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes untuk menentukan kemampuan berhitung yang terdiri dari empat pertanyaan deskriptif yang diadopsi dari pertanyaan PISA dan instrumen non-tes berupa kuesioner ketahanan matematika. Instrumen penelitian didistribusikan secara daring karena pandemi Covid-19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan tingkat ketahanan matematika tinggi dapat menyelesaikan soal berdasarkan tiga indikator kemampuan berhitung, yaitu (1) mampu menggunakan berbagai jenis angka dan simbol yang berkaitan dengan matematika dasar dalam berbagai konteks sehari-hari, (2) menganalisis informasi yang ditampilkan dalam berbagai bentuk, dan (3) menafsirkan hasil analisis untuk memprediksi dan mengambil keputusan yang baik, namun untuk indikator ketiga, masih terdapat kesalahan. Selain itu, siswa yang memiliki ketahanan matematika sedang sudah dapat mengerjakan soal hanya dengan dua indikator. Sementara itu, siswa dengan ketahanan matematika rendah belum menguasai indikator tersebut dan belum dapat menyelesaikan soal dengan benar dan tepat.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between gadget use and the social and emotional development of early childhood. Concerns over the increasing intensity of gadget use in early childhood and its potential negative impact on social interaction and emotional regulation prompted this quantitative correlational study involving 25 children aged 5-6 years at Pembina Kindergarten, Kampar, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire completed by parents and teachers, accompanied by documentation. Data analysis, conducted using SPSS 25.0, included a nonparametric Spearman's Rank correlation test and the coefficient of determination. The results showed a significant negative correlation (r = -0.639, p = 0.001 < 0.05) between gadget use and social and emotional development, indicating a strong association. Furthermore, gadget use explained 41.8% (Adjusted R² = 0.418) of the variation in children's social and emotional development, with the remaining variation related to other factors such as parenting styles, environment, and external social interactions. These findings emphasize the need for wise gadget management to support optimal social and emotional growth. Longitudinal studies with larger, more diverse samples could help better understand the long-term impact of gadget use on early childhood and are recommended for further research. Qualitative research could also be conducted to explore the role of parenting styles and the family environment in moderating the relationship between gadget use and children's social and emotional development.

Abstract

Inovasi dalam dunia pendidikan terus berkembang seiring kemajuan teknologi informasi. Salah satu bentuk inovasi tersebut adalah penerapan blended learning, yakni pendekatan pembelajaran yang menggabungkan metode konvensional (tatap muka) dengan teknologi digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas blended learning dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan metode studi literatur (library research), yang melibatkan penelusuran dan analisis berbagai sumber ilmiah relevan, termasuk jurnal, buku, dan artikel yang membahas praktik serta dampak blended learning. Hasil studi menunjukkan bahwa blended learning mampu menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang lebih fleksibel, meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa, serta memungkinkan personalisasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Penggabungan antara interaksi langsung di kelas dan pembelajaran berbasis teknologi juga membantu meningkatkan keterlibatan siswa dan memperkuat pemahaman materi. Dengan demikian, blended learning merupakan solusi strategis dalam menjawab tantangan pembelajaran abad ke-21 dan dapat diterapkan secara efektif untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar peserta didik.

Abstract

The implementation of this study aims to examine how students’ learning motivation develops during the discovery learning process supported by authentic assessment. Low motivation significantly contributes to poor engagement, reduced persistence, and lower learning outcomes. The research employs a descriptive qualitative design. Data analysis is conducted for all collected data, encompassing both quantitative and qualitative sources. Based on the N-Gain calculation, the experimental class had an average N-Gain of 0.53, which is considered moderate, while the control class had an average N-Gain of 0.29, which is considered low. This indicates that applying the Discovery Learning model in the experimental class led to a greater increase in learning motivation than that of conventional learning in the control class.

Teacher performance is a fundamental factor in determining the quality of education and the effectiveness of the learning process in schools. In the context of private schools, improving teacher performance is a strategic challenge because it is influenced by organizational dynamics, communication patterns, leadership quality, and competency development systems. This study aims to analyze the influence of interpersonal communication, leadership style, and training on teacher performance in Private Senior High Schools in Serang Regency. The study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory survey design. The population was 137 teachers with a sample of 58 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a Likert scale questionnaire that had met validity and reliability tests, then analyzed using multiple linear regression in SPSS version 26. The results showed that partially interpersonal communication had no significant effect on teacher performance, while leadership style and training had a positive and significant effect. Simultaneously, the three variables had a significant effect on teacher performance with an Adjusted R Square value of 0.903, indicating that 90.3% of the variation in teacher performance can be explained by the research model. These findings confirm that strengthening principal leadership and optimizing ongoing training programs are priority strategies in improving teacher performance. This research provides an empirical contribution for school managers in formulating evidence-based human resource development policies.
