Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the principal’s leadership style on teachers’ work motivation at SMP Al-Washliyah 5 Hamparan Perak. The principal’s leadership plays a strategic role in directing, motivating, and creating a conducive working environment to support teachers in performing their professional duties effectively. Teachers’ work motivation is a crucial factor affecting their performance, commitment, and professionalism in the teaching and learning process. This research employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to teachers as respondents and analyzed using inferential statistical techniques. The results indicate that the principal’s leadership style has a significant effect on teachers’ work motivation. These findings suggest that the more effective the leadership style applied by the principal, the higher the level of teachers’ work motivation in carrying out their responsibilities. Therefore, principals are expected to implement appropriate, participative, and human-resource-oriented leadership styles to enhance teachers’ motivation and improve the quality of education in schools.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between school principals' academic supervision and the improvement of teachers' pedagogical competence at SMK TR 2 Sinar Husni. Teachers' pedagogical competence is a key factor in enhancing the quality of learning and students' learning outcomes, thus requiring systematic professional development through academic supervision. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research subjects were all teachers at SMK TR 2 Sinar Husni, totaling 15 individuals. Data collection was conducted using a closed questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. Data analysis was carried out with the help of the SPSS program through validity tests, reliability tests, normality tests, linearity tests, and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests. The results of the study indicate that school principals' academic supervision has a positive and significant relationship with teachers' pedagogical competence, with a correlation coefficient of 0.676 at the significance level. significance 0.01. These findings indicate that the better the implementation of the principal's academic supervision, the higher the teacher's pedagogical competence. This study recommends strengthening academic supervision that is continuous and developmental as a strategy to improve the quality of learning in vocational high schools.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of the school environment on students' enthusiasm for learning. The study used a quantitative approach with a survey method of 32 students using a Likert-scale questionnaire. The school environment was measured through physical and social aspects, while enthusiasm for learning was measured through enthusiasm, persistence, participation, and responsibility for learning. The results showed that the school environment was categorized as good with an average score of 3.71, and student enthusiasm for learning was categorized as high with an average score of 3.78. However, the results of the correlation test indicated a weak relationship between the school environment and student enthusiasm for learning. This finding suggests that the school environment plays a supporting role, while student enthusiasm for learning is also influenced by factors other than the school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of madrasa organizational culture on teacher performance at MTs N 2 Deli Serdang. The research employed a quantitative approach with a causal research design. The population consisted of all teachers at MTs N 2 Deli Serdang, and total sampling was applied, resulting in 45 teacher respondents. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire with a five-point Likert scale measuring madrasa organizational culture and teacher performance. The research instruments were tested for validity and reliability, and all items were found to be valid and reliable. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS software. The results indicate that madrasa organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. The coefficient of determination showsW that madrasa organizational culture contributes 58.7% to teacher performance, while the remaining percentage is influenced by other factors outside the research model. These findings highlight that strengthening madrasa organizational culture plays a crucial role in improving teacher performance and ensuring sustainable educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing the emergence of destructive leadership in schools. Destructive leadership is understood as leadership behavior that systematically harms the goals of the school organization, teacher well-being, and the educational work climate. This study used a library method with a descriptive qualitative approach, through the review and synthesis of various relevant scientific literature, both nationally and internationally. The analysis shows that destructive leadership in schools is influenced by three main factors: internal factors of the leader (characteristics and personality of the principal), follower factors (characteristics of teachers and education personnel), and factors of the school's organizational environment. These three factors interact and reinforce each other, as explained in the toxic triangle theory. Destructive leadership negatively impacts teacher work motivation, the school's organizational climate, and the quality of the learning process. Therefore, preventative measures are needed through strengthening the principal selection and development system, improving teacher professionalism, and creating a democratic and accountable school environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of student management on the effectiveness of the interest and talent development program for eleventh-grade science students in junior high schools. Student management is a crucial aspect of education, playing a role in planning, organizing, implementing, and supervising student activities, including the development of interests and talents. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The population in this study was all eleventh-grade science students, with a proportional sampling technique used. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires, observation, and documentation. Data analysis used simple regression statistical tests to determine the extent of student management's influence on the effectiveness of the interest and talent development program. The results showed that student management significantly influenced the effectiveness of the student interest and talent development program. This suggests that the better the implementation of student management, the more effective the interest and talent development program will be. Therefore, schools are expected to improve the quality of student management to support the optimal development of student potential.

Abstract

Principal leadership is a strategic factor that plays an important role in determining the success of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum in educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership on the effectiveness of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at UPT SMP Negeri 27 Medan. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative research design, involving all teachers as respondents. Data were collected using Likert-scale questionnaires and documentation, and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that principal leadership is categorized as very good, with a mean range of 4.375–4.900, while the effectiveness of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum is also categorized as very good, with a mean range of 4.125–4.500. Furthermore, the findings reveal a significant influence of principal leadership on the effectiveness of the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, as evidenced by a t-value of 3.875 > t-table value of 2.042 and a significance level of 0.001 < 0.05. The contribution of principal leadership to the effectiveness of curriculum implementation is 45.2%, while the remaining proportion is influenced by other factors such as teacher competence, school culture, school management, and other supporting factors distinct from facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Budaya positif di sekolah merupakan faktor penting dalam menciptakan iklim pembelajaran yang kondusif dan mendukung pengembangan karakter peserta didik. Pembentukan budaya tersebut tidak dapat dilepaskan dari peran kepemimpinan kepala sekolah sebagai pengarah nilai, norma, dan praktik yang berkembang di lingkungan sekolah. Salah satu pendekatan kepemimpinan yang relevan dalam konteks pendidikan adalah servant leadership, yang menempatkan pelayanan, keteladanan, dan pemberdayaan sebagai inti praktik kepemimpinan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran kepemimpinan servant leadership dalam membangun budaya positif di sekolah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan penelitian kepustakaan (library research), melalui penelaahan dan analisis berbagai sumber literatur berupa buku ilmiah, artikel jurnal, dan hasil penelitian yang relevan dengan kepemimpinan pendidikan, servant leadership, dan budaya sekolah. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa servant leadership berkontribusi signifikan terhadap terbentuknya budaya positif di sekolah melalui penguatan kepercayaan, peningkatan kualitas relasi antar warga sekolah, pengembangan kolaborasi, serta pembentukan disiplin dan karakter berbasis kesadaran. Kepemimpinan yang berorientasi pada pelayanan tidak hanya berdampak pada efektivitas manajerial, tetapi juga berperan dalam menciptakan lingkungan sekolah yang humanis, inklusif, dan berkelanjutan. Dengan demikian, servant leadership dapat dipandang sebagai pendekatan kepemimpinan yang efektif dalam mendukung penguatan budaya positif di sekolah.

Abstract

Education is not solely oriented toward academic achievement but also plays a crucial role in shaping students' character, particularly religious character. Religious character is the primary foundation for developing students with noble morals, integrity, and the ability to practice religious values ​​in their daily lives. One factor influencing the formation of students' religious character is the school environment, including the physical, social, and academic environments. This study aims to determine the influence of the school environment on the religious character of students at SMP IT Nurul Fadhilah. This study used a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. Data collection was conducted through distributing questionnaires using a Likert scale to students as respondents, and documentation served as supporting data. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential analysis with the help of the SmartPLS application to examine the relationships and influences between variables. The results of this study are expected to provide an empirical overview of the role of the school environment in shaping students' religious character and serve as evaluation material and a reference for schools in improving the quality of learning environments that support the strengthening of religious character education. Abstract

The development of social media has driven significant changes in school promotion management practices in the digital age. Social media is not only used as a means of communication, but also plays a strategic role in building the image of educational institutions and increasing the attractiveness of schools amid competition between educational institutions. This study aims to analyze the use of social media in school promotion management and its role in improving the quality and quantity of students. The research method used is library research by reviewing various relevant sources, including books, scientific journal articles, and previous research results related to educational promotion management and the use of social media. Data collection techniques were carried out through literature searches and critical analysis of concepts, theories, and empirical findings that support the research focus. The results of the study show that the planned, consistent, and sustainable use of social media can increase school visibility, strengthen public trust, and expand the reach of promotion effectively and efficiently. In addition, social media plays a role in conveying academic information, achievements, and the school's strengths, which has an impact on increasing the number of applicants and the quality of students accepted. Therefore, social media needs to be optimally integrated into the planning and policy of school promotion management as part of education management that is adaptive to technological developments.
