Abstract

The low level of literacy in Indonesia remains a critical issue in education, particularly at the early childhood level. Literacy at this stage cannot begin directly with the introduction of letters or numbers; it requires approaches aligned with children's developmental needs. One promising method is Kamishibai, a traditional Japanese storytelling technique that combines visual and narrative elements. This study aims to conduct a systematic literature review of research examining the impact of Kamishibai on early childhood literacy skills. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using the PRISMA model, reviewing literature published between 2021 and 2025 from two databases: Google Scholar and Scopus. A total of eight studies met the inclusion criteria, with research conducted in diverse contexts such as Indonesia, Madagascar (Africa), Finland, and Portugal. The findings indicate that Kamishibai effectively enhances early literacy skills, particularly in contextual literacy, basic literacy, and numeracy. It also supports the development of language and cognitive abilities, expression and creativity, communication and collaboration, as well as reading interest in young children.

Abstract

Language development is crucial in early childhood growth, requiring appropriate stimulation to optimize brain potential during the golden period. The decline in reading interest due to technological advancement has negatively impacted reading comprehension abilities, as demonstrated by the 2016 OECD PISA study ranking Indonesian students' reading abilities at 64th position globally. This study analyzes the effectiveness of the read-aloud method in early childhood language development through comprehensive literature review. This study employed qualitative methodology reviewing 20 scientific articles published between 2020-2025, obtained through Google Scholar. Data analysis utilized content analysis techniques with systematic collection, synthesis, and examination to maintain research validity. Results demonstrate that read-aloud consistently provides positive impacts on various language abilities, including vocabulary enrichment, receptive and expressive language improvement, reading interest cultivation, and oral communication skills development. Effective implementation involves active child-reader interaction, engaging picture books utilization, question-and-answer strategies, and word repetition. Among analyzed articles, majority employed qualitative approaches (10 articles), followed by quantitative methods (6 articles), with highest publication frequency in 2023-2024. Despite demonstrating high effectiveness, research gaps remain regarding method variations for different cultural contexts, insufficient longitudinal studies on long-term impacts, and limited parent-teacher collaboration research. This study concludes that read-aloud is a highly valuable strategy in early childhood education for building strong literacy foundations.

Abstract

Structural analysis is essential in civil engineering to ensure the' safety, stability, and performance of load-bearing elements such as beams. Conventional approaches—such as manual calculations or commercial software—often involve high costs, limited accessibility, or steep learning curves. This study presents a web-based computational tool for analyzing simply supported beams, developed in Python to deliver accurate, real-time results through an interactive interface. The tool utilizes fundamental static equilibrium equations to calculate support reactions, shear forces, and bending moments in the simply supported beam subjected to point and uniformly distributed loads. Python’s numerical and visualization libraries enable the automated generation of shear force and bending moment diagrams, input validation, downloadable CSV outputs, and adjustable parameters. Validation consisted of three stages: comparison with analytical hand calculations, benchmarking against Tekla Structural Designer (Educational License), and a usability survey conducted among 67 participants from academic and professional backgrounds. The tool’s results matched reference calculations, and user feedback highlighted high accuracy, clarity, and educational value. This open-access platform offers an effective solution for educational use. Future development will focus on extending features such as analyzing more complex structures under various loading conditions, performing deflection analysis, and mobile compatibility.

Abstract

The high number of intolerance cases in the school environment, especially junior high school students, shows the urgency of internalizing religious moderation in education. This has made the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia make efforts to internalize religious moderation policies through P5 “Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila”. Researchers found one school, SMP 1 Undaan, which integrates moderation values through P5 with the project “Outingclass Tempat Ibadah” so that this study aims to describe the concrete form of integration of religious moderation in P5, analyze the implementation of internalization of moderation values through the project, and explore the role of religion teachers in strengthening religious moderation in schools. This research uses the type of field research with data collection methods through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the “Outingclass Places of Worship” project became a bridge in building harmony of religious diversity in schools. This visit not only enriches students' insights but also strengthens the moderation values of tasamuh (tolerance), tahadhdhur (civilized), and musawah (equality). In addition, the role of religious teachers is inseparable in guiding students, providing role models, and ensuring the sustainability of moderation values in the project so that this research can be a reference for other schools in implementing religious moderation policies through the P5 program to create an inclusive, harmonious and tolerant school climate.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate in-depth the influence of self-efficacy, or belief in one's own abilities, on burnout in a population of Taekwondo athletes in Surabaya. Amidst the high pressure of intensive physical training and the demands of highly competitive competitions, athletes often face significant risks of physical and emotional exhaustion, potentially triggering burnout. In this context, self-efficacy is believed to be a crucial psychological factor influencing an individual's response to pressure, where overconfidence can actually be a double-edged sword. Using a quantitative approach with a causal design to examine cause-and-effect relationships, this study involved a sample of 112 Taekwondo athletes carefully selected through a purposive sampling technique. Primary data were collected using instruments in the form of self-efficacy scales and burnout scales that have been tested for validity, then analyzed statistically using a simple linear regression test to model the influence between variables. The results of the data analysis showed that self-efficacy has a positive and significant effect on burnout, as evidenced by a regression coefficient value of 0.645 and a significance level of 0.000 (p < 0.05). These interesting findings indicate that the higher an athlete's self-confidence, the greater their potential for burnout. This may occur because athletes with high self-efficacy tend to set unrealistic standards, ignore fatigue signals, and continue pushing themselves beyond their limits without adequate recovery. Therefore, these conclusions underscore the urgency of balanced self-efficacy management for coaches and athletes, as well as the importance of implementing effective coping strategies and educating Taekwondo athletes about the importance of rest to prevent chronic mental and physical fatigue.
