Abstract

Purpose: This study examines key determinants of employee performance in Indonesia’s maritime sector, focusing on ship crews. It analyzes training, work motivation, transformational leadership, and organizational culture to understand their roles in enhancing crew effectiveness, discipline, and overall productivity. Research Methodology: This study used a descriptive qualitative method with the SALSA framework to review 30 peer-reviewed articles published in the past eight years. Theoretical triangulation involved applying Human Capital Theory, Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Bass’s Transformational Leadership, and Hofstede’s Organizational Culture Framework. Results: The findings reveal that training improves job competence, work quality, and accountability; motivation enhances commitment and timeliness; transformational leadership fosters trust, innovation, and responsibility; and organizational culture strengthens discipline, teamwork, and loyalty. Each variable positively influences employee performance in the maritime context. Conclusions: Investments in human resource factors particularly training, motivation, leadership, and organizational culture are crucial for enhancing the performance of maritime personnel. These factors serve as strategic levers to improve safety, operational efficiency, and service quality in the shipping industry. Limitations: The study is limited to secondary data from literature published in English and Bahasa Indonesia, lacks empirical field validation, and does not explore the interaction effects among the variables. Contribution: This study contributes conceptually by offering a synthesized framework linking human resource variables to maritime performance, thereby guiding future empirical research and managerial interventions in crew development and organizational transformation.

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to explore the relationship between employee resilience, motivation, and organizational development in the context of private organizations, by understanding the dynamics of this relationship, it is hoped that an implementation can be found in a finding in the paper and see from these findings a literature review of effective strategies to increase employee resilience and stimulate organizational development. This paper uses a qualitative method by searching the literature for findings related to the existing papers in this paper that have been implemented in the results of existing papers. The time period of the paper is ten years.  Employee resilience has a central role in facing challenges and influencing organizational development, High motivation in employees can increase their resilience, which in turn supports organizational development. In this paper, the findings from dozens of literatures do not answer all of them, therefore links between variables are taken, and if for directly with three variables, no paper has stated the findings.

Abstract

This community service activity titled “Socialization of the Importation Process: Improvement of Inward Manifest Data at XYZ International Cargo Company” was conducted to address operational inefficiencies and data inaccuracies in the company’s import documentation process. The background of this program stems from the frequent errors found in inward manifest data entry, which often cause shipment delays, additional administrative costs, and decreased service quality. The main objective of the activity was to enhance the participants’ understanding of the importance of accurate data management and the procedures for improving the inward manifest process according to applicable regulations. The activity was carried out through an online workshop involving logistics practitioners, import-export staff, and document administrators. The method used combined interactive presentations, case discussions, and direct practice simulations on the company’s system. The results showed a significant increase in participants’ comprehension and awareness regarding the importance of synchronization between documentation and customs systems. Participants also demonstrated better accuracy in data validation during simulations. In conclusion, this program succeeded in improving both knowledge and practical capabilities of employees, contributing to smoother import operations and supporting the company’s goal of achieving higher service efficiency and compliance with international logistics standards.

Abstract

Abstract

The orderliness of service and operation of facilities and infrastructure is relatively low, and many factors contribute to it, such as the weak awareness of ship owners and companies in implementing an effective and implementable safety system in the field, the seaworthiness of ships that are more oriented towards certification which in fact is not supported by careful inspection, as well as supervision carried out by the government on the implementation (drilling) of shipping safety requirements is inconsistent.  The purpose of socialization to passengers who use traditional wooden ships is "Socialization of Safety Factors for Passengers of Traditional Ship Crossing Transport at Muara Angke Port Jakarta" the purpose of socialization is to prevent opportunities for violations in shipping not using Ring Life Buoys, Life Jackets and unethical behavior of ships passengers.
