Abstract

The integration of technology and media in IPAS learning at the elementary school level has begun to be developed by teachers, thus requiring further analysis of its implementation. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of IPAS learning development that integrates technology and media in elementary schools, viewed through the ASSURE model. This study employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive method, using data from classroom observation sheets, response questionnaires from 20 fourth-grade students, interviews with one IPAS teacher, as well as document analysis of IPAS Phase B learning outcomes and the fourth-grade teaching module for Chapter 6. The data were then analyzed using Creswell's qualitative data analysis procedures, starting from raw data collection, organization, comprehensive reading, coding, development of themes and descriptions, to interpretation and validation through triangulation and participant confirmation. The findings show that the implementation of the ASSURE model in IPAS learning has been carried out effectively by the teacher. Based on the results, nearly 95% of the ASSURE syntax has been optimally implemented. These results imply that teachers are capable of designing resource utilization syntax more effectively, which in turn minimizes obstacles in the use of learning media and its supporting tools, and supports the achievement of learning objectives optimally.

Abstract

Third-grade students often face difficulties in understanding the abstract and cyclical nature of the water cycle, leading to misconceptions and fragmented knowledge. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of integrating Problem-Based Learning (PBL) and Wordwall (WW) in improving students’ conceptual understanding of the water cycle. A quasi-experiment employed in this study. The participants involved 105 third-grade students from one elementary school, divided into three groups: PBL+Wordwall, PBL-only, and a conventional instruction group. Over six sessions, students received instruction aligned with their group’s assigned strategy. The results, based on pretest and posttest comparisons analysed through t-tests and MANCOVA, show that both PBL and PBL+Wordwall outperform conventional teaching; however, PBL+Wordwall did not significantly surpass PBL alone. These findings suggest that PBL is a powerful strategy for teaching scientific concepts and that visual tools like Wordwall may offer added benefits in vocabulary reinforcement and engagement. This research supports the adoption of active learning and digital aids to enhance science instruction in elementary education.

Abstract

Background: Indonesia as a developing country has a fairly large adolescent population. One of the changes in adolescent girls when they become adults is menstruation, but menstrual disorders are still a common problem with a fairly high incidence, especially in adolescents. As much as 75%. This can be serious if not treated immediately. Objective: to determine the prevalence of menstrual disorders and their treatment in adolescents, especially female students majoring in Midwifery at Almarisah Madani University. Method: This type of research is quantitative research with a descriptive design with a sample of 21 female students. Results: showed that most respondents (71%) experienced menstrual disorders, with details of 38% having abnormal cycles, 5% experiencing abnormal menstrual duration, and 57% experiencing dysmenorrhea. Meanwhile, amenorrhea was only experienced by 10% of respondents. Menstrual disorders found included polymenorrhea, oligomenorrhea, hypomenorrhea, hypermenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, and amenorrhea. This disorder not only affects physical health, but can also affect the psychological condition and quality of life of adolescents, and has the potential to cause long-term health problems such as infertility. Treatment for adolescents is generally non-pharmacological, including warm water compresses, rest, stress management, improving diet and sleep patterns, and taking painkillers independently.

Abstract

Purpose – This study explores the role of national insight-based learning in fostering religious moderation among young children. It investigates how early childhood education can serve as a vehicle for instilling values of tolerance, respect, and moderation among young children, thereby contributing to developing well-rounded, socially responsible citizens.Design/methods/approach – Qualitative research with a case study approach involving five Early Childhood Education (ECE) teachers from Raudhatul Athfal (RA) Muslimat NU 007 Gandu I Ponorogo, East Java, ten parents, and 30 children. Data were collected through classroom observations, teacher interviews, and surveys with parents to understand how national insight-based learning is integrated into early childhood education using a context-sensitive instrument, the Moderation Attitude Scale for Early Childhood (MASEC) and PERAMAH framework. Thematic analysis was used to identify key patterns and insights from the data. First, all recordings were transcribed verbatim and read repeatedly to ensure familiarity. Next, an open coding process was conducted, and illustrative quotes were selected. A thematic map was created to show the relationships between themes.Findings – The findings suggest that national insight-based learning significantly promotes religious moderation in children. Children demonstrated increased awareness of religious diversity and tolerance through culturally responsive teaching methods, such as stories, activities, and discussions rooted in national identity and values. Additionally, educators noted improvements in children's ability to engage with peers from different religious backgrounds with respect and empathy.Research implications/limitations – The research highlights the potential of early childhood education to play a crucial role in shaping children's religious attitudes. However, the study is limited by its small sample size and the short-term nature of the observation period. Further, longitudinal studies are recommended to assess the long-term impact of national insight-based learning on religious moderation across different educational settings.Practical implications – This study offers insights for early childhood educators and policymakers, highlighting the importance of integrating national insight-based learning and promoting inclusive teaching to foster early religious tolerance.Originality/value – This study presents a novel perspective on integrating national identity and religious moderation in early childhood education, addressing a theoretical gap and proposing a replicable NIBL-based model for value formation.Paper type Case study
