Abstract

The learning outcomes obtained by students are still far below the standard assessment criteria. It turns out that the factor causing this issue is the students' lack of understanding of concepts taught by the teacher. Therefore, concept comprehension is the foundation for achieving learning objectives. The purpose of writing this article is to create the development of animated video learning media to enhance students' concept comprehension abilities. This study adopts a quantitative approach, using the Research & Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE model (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). The research subjects consist of 30 sixth-grade students, comprising 16 males and 14 females, from a public elementary school in Bogor Regency, West Java. The research instruments used include observation and questionnaires aimed at assessing the effectiveness of the animated video learning media, as well as tests to measure students' concept comprehension as a benchmark for the success of the animated video. The research findings indicate that 100% of the students experienced an increase in scores when they underwent a pretest-posttest assessment using the validated animated video, which obtained a 100% score from media experts and subject matter experts. This means that the animated video is highly suitable for use as a learning media for the solar system subject. Thus, animated videos are an excellent learning media when used in education, as they capture students' interest and enthusiasm in participating in the learning process. Hasil belajar yang diperoleh peserta didik masih jauh dari sebuah standar penilaian yang menjadi acuan. Ternyata hal yang menjadi faktor terjadinya permasalahan tersebut adalah karena peserta didik yang mengalami kurangnya pemahaman sebuah konsep dari suatu materi yang diajarkan oleh guru kepada peserta didik. Maka pemahaman konsep adalah hal yang menjadi sebuah dasar di dalam mencapai sebuah tujuan pembelajaran. Tujuan dari penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk menciptakan sebuah pengembangan media pembelajaran video animasi agar dapat meningkatkan terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep yang dimiliki peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan sebuah pendekatan kuantitatif. Dengan metodenya adalah Research & Development (R&D) dengan model ADDIE (Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) dengan subjek penelitian yaitu 30 peserta didik kelas VI yang terdiri dari 16 orang laki-laki dan 14 orang perempuan pada salah satu SD Negeri yang berada di Kabupaten Bogor, Jawa Barat. Instrumen penelitian ini dengan menggunakan observasi, angket yang khususnya bertujuan untuk dapat mengetahui keefektifan sebuah media pembelajaran video animasi tersebut dan tes agar dapat juga mengetahui pemahaman konsep peserta didik sebagai tolak ukur keberhasilan suatu video animasi tersebut. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 100% peserta didik mengalami peningkatan nilai ketika melaksanakan pretest – posttest dalam pembelajarannya menggunakan video animasi yang telah melalui tahap uji validasi kepada ahli media dan ahli materi mendapatkan skor 100% yang artinya video animasi sangat baik untuk digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran materi tata surya. Jadi, video animasi merupakan salah satu media pembelajaran yang sangat baik apabila digunakan pada pembelajaran karena dengan  video animasi ini sangat menarik minat peserta didik untuk berantusias dalam mengikuti pembelajaran.

Abstract

Collaboration and communication skills were essential as basic skills in the 21st century. This research described the forms of students’ collaboration skills in terms of the teamwork aspect, and the forms of students’ communication skills in terms of the verbal communication aspect, that emerge in Indonesian Language learning through RADEC. A qualitative approach with a case study type was applied in this study. The subjects were 3rd-grade students in one of the elementary schools in Bandung city. Data collection was carried out through observation, field notes, and interviews. Data was analyzed through data collection, data reduction, and conclusion. The results of this study show that 1) the form of student collaboration skills are through contributing to completing group assignments, help each other when having difficulties, appreciating the work of their friend in the group, and exchanging ideas and opinions, and 2) the form of student communication skills are being able to present the results of group discussions, being active argue and asking a question, using an appropriate language, respect each other’s opinions, brave and confident when speaking in front of the class. Collaboration in the discussion stage has yet to be visible; the reasons are that the students have yet to conclude the different opinions or answers even though the essence is the same, one person still dominates the discussion, and some students need to work on pre-learning questions. This research implied that Indonesian Language learning need to be designed to actively involved students to develop collaboration and communication skills by integrating innovative learning model such as RADEC.

Abstract

Today, the rapid development of technology and information, as well as in the agenda of welcoming society 5.0 that is in sight, positions education at the basic level to be more concerned with cultural values that are the identity of the Indonesian nation. The problem found is that cultural values have begun to fade due to the development of the times. The integration of local wisdom values in school learning should be used as sustainable development goals by many parties. The purpose of this study is to describe how local wisdom which is the identity and identity of the nation is integrated in learning in elementary schools. This research uses a qualitative approach with a literature study method of data collection techniques to explore several reputable articles related to the research. The results of this study illustrate the many ways that schools integrate local wisdom including adjustments to strengthen character education, school literacy activities, and classroom learning. Of course, the implementation of local wisdom must be strengthened by the role of teachers, the role of schools and also the role of parents who are in direct contact with students.

Abstract

Character education is the most important factor in shaping good character, especially in primary schools, which can include character values, manners, attitudes, and morals so that students can distinguish good and bad behaviour. Formal education is currently only focused on developing cognitive aspects so the affective aspects of students have not been applied thoroughly in schools. This study aims to analyse the challenges of implementing character education in primary schools. The method used was a systematic literature review (SLR), collecting articles related to problems and solutions in character education in primary schools. Data collected from as many as 181 articles and filtered and obtained into 10 articles through sinta accredited journals. Articles in this study were traced through the Google Scholar database from 2018-2023. Based on the research some students still have problems with poor character such as dishonesty during tests, not being disciplined to follow the rules at school, and not being independent in doing assignments. The implementation of character education must be instilled since elementary school and done well through the example of a teacher and routinely carried out by the school so that students can get used to actions that will become commendable characters that will have an effect in the future. Character cultivation can also be carried out by teachers by slipping character values through the integration of subjects to be taught.

Abstract

Reading interest is one of the fundamental skills in language and is a highly effective learning activity for acquiring knowledge and literacy. Reading literacy is an essential skill, particularly for prospective educators; however, many students experience challenges in cultivating a reading habit. This research aims to: (1) describe the reading interest conditions of prospective teacher students at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), (2) elucidate the supporting and inhibiting factors for prospective teacher students (PTS) at UPI in their reading activities. This study employs a quantitative approach with a survey design. The research subjects are UPI PGSD (Elementary School Teacher Education) students. Data collection methods include questionnaires, surveys, and interviews. Data analysis involves descriptive analysis, frequency distribution, and percentage calculation. The findings reveal that: (1) the overall reading interest of PTS is categorized as low, (2) students' activities on campus before class hours mainly involve waiting and chatting with friends; only a small portion of students utilize their free time to read books or visit the library. (3) PTS' preferred books are novels and fiction, while scientific texts are less favored due to unappealing design and layout, (4) the time spent on reading books by PTS is relatively short, with less than 1 hour daily, and some do not allocate any time for reading, except when there are assignments or exams, (5) the major inhibiting factors for PTS in reading are internal, indicated by low reading habits or preferences for other interests over reading.

Abstract

Pada saat ini masih ditemukan guru yang kesulitan dalam membuat media pembelajaran dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar dan kurangnya kompetensi guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan menggunakan game based learning dan mengetahui kemampuan kognitif siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan quasi experimental, responden pada penelitian ini yaitu 23 siswa kelas esperimen dan 31 siswa kelas kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan pembelajaran dengan penggunaan wordwall berbantuan game based learning pada siswa kelas IV materi wujud pada guru dan siswa mendapat nilai rata-rata sangat baik. Guru dan siswa melaksanakan seluruh tahapan pada model game based learning secara berurutan sesuai dengan indikator. Kemampuan kognitif siswa sebelum dan sesudah diberikan perlakuan di kelas eksperimen dan pembelajaran konvensional dikelas kontrol menunjukkan bahwa mengalami peningkatan. Untuk nilai sebelum pemberian perlakuan (pretest) pada kelas eksperimen didapatkan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 58,57 sedangkan dikelas kontrol mendapatkan nilai rata-rata siswa sebesar 60,68. Kemudian untuk nilai setelah pemberian perlakuan (posttest) pada kelas eksperimen mendapat rata-rata  87,00 mendapat peningkatan 67,96 dan kelas kontrol 72,35 mendapat peningkatan 27,98. Adapun implikasi pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa mempunyai pengalaman baru terkait dengan cara penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis website.

Abstract

The intensity of online learning impacts students' self-confidence in solving problems, their ability to interact with other people, and even their achievements. This study aims to examine the correlation between self-efficacy, social skills, and students’ grade point average (GPA) through a correlational method with an explanatory design and using questionnaires and interview sheets. The sample was taken randomly, totaling 55 students of the elementary school teacher education program at one of the state universities in Purwakarta, Indonesia. The findings show a correlation between student self-efficacy and the Grade Point Average; there is a correlation between social skills and GPA. When self-efficacy and social skills separately increase, the GPA will increase and vice versa. In addition, there is no correlation between student self-efficacy and social skills. Moreover, there is no correlation between self-efficacy and social skills simultaneously with the GPA. When self-efficacy and social skills increased, it was not confident that the GPA would increase. Self-efficacy and social skills have an impact on one's achievement. Therefore, the interactive and easily accessible online learning development is needed. Abstrak: Intensitas pembelajaran online memberi dampak pada keyakinan diri mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah, kemampuanya dalam berinteraksi dengan orang lain, bahkan prestasinya. Penelitian ini bermaksud untuk mengkaji hubungan antara efikasi diri, keterampilan sosial, dan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) siswa melalui metode korelasional dengan desain eksplanatori dan menggunakan instrumen angket dan lembar wawancara. Sampel diambil secara acak yang berjumlah 55 mahasiswa program studi pendidikan guru sekolah dasar di salah satu perguruan tinggi negeri di Purwakarta, Indonesia. Temuan menunjukkan adanya hubungan antara self-efficacy mahasiswa dengan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif, adanya hubungan antara keterampilan sosial mahasiswa dengan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif, sehingga ketika self-efficacy dan keterampilan sosial mahasiswa secara terpisah meningkat maka indeks prestasi kumulatif mahasiswa akan meningkat dan sebaliknya. Selain itu tidak adanya hubungan antara self-efficacy mahasiswa dengan keterampilan sosial sehingga ketika self-efficacy meningkat atau menurun maka tidak dapat dipastikan keterampilan akan menunjukkan hasil yang sama. Serta ditemukan tidak adanya hubungan antara self-efficacy dan keterampilan sosial secara bersamaan dengan Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif mahasiswa. Self-efficacy dan keterampilan sosial berdampak pada prestasi seseorang. Oleh karena itu, pengembangan pembelajaran online interaktif dan akses mudah diperlukan.

Abstract

Abstract One of the abilities that students need to have to support the 21st century is the ability to think critically. Therefore, learning to think critically needs to be trained since elementary school. In reality, elementary school students' critical thinking skills are still low. This is influenced by the fact that the majority of learning activities use the lecture method which makes students passive. Students' critical thinking abilities need to be improved, one of which is through the RADEC learning model. So this research aims to see the effectiveness of the RADEC learning model in improving critical thinking skills on material changing the shape of objects in class IV elementary school. This research uses a quantitative method with a Quasi Experimental research type and a Nonequivalent Control Group design. The research location was carried out at SDN Tonjong 1 Sukabumi City, with research samples namely class IVA and class IV B. The results showed an increase in pretest scores on the posttest, both in the experimental class and the control class. This can be seen from the results of the T test with a significance <0.005. Meanwhile, the results of calculations using the N-Gain Test from the pretest and posttest results show that there is a difference in increasing the effectiveness of the RADEC learning model by 62% while the percentage value of the conventional model is 33%. With this percentage, it can be concluded that the use of the RADEC learning model is more effective than conventional learning models. Keyword : Students, RADEC learning model, Critical thinking skills. Abstrak Salah satu kemapuan yang perlu dimiliki oleh peserta didik untuk menyongkong abad 21 adalah kemampuan berfikir kritis. Oleh karena itu pembelajaran berfikir kritis perlu dilatih sejak sekolah dasar. Pada kenyataannya kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik sekolah dasar masih rendah. Hal ini dipengaruhi karena mayoritas dalam kegiatan pembelajaran menggunakan metode ceramah yang menjadikan peserta didik pasif. Kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik perlu ditingkatkan salah satunya melalui Model pembelajaran RADEC. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektifitas model pembelajaran RADEC dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berfikir kritis pada materi perubahan wujud benda di kelas IV Sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitaif dengan jenis penelitian Quasi Eksperimen dan desain Nonequivalent Control Group. Lokasi penelitian dilaksanakan di SDN Tonjong 1 Kota Sukabumi, dengan sampel penelitian yaitu kelas IVA dan kelas IV B. Hasil menunjukkan adanya kenaikan nilai pretest pada posttest, baik pada kelas eksperimen ataupun kelas kontrol. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil uji T dengan signifikansi < 0,005. Sedangkan hasil perhitungan menggunakan Uji N-Gain dari hasil pretest dan posttest menunjukan adanya perbedaan peningkatan efektifitas model pembelajaran RADEC sebesar 62 % sedangkan nilai presentase model konvensional yaitu 33 %. dengan presentase tersebut maka, dapat disimpulkan penggunaan model pembelajaran RADEC lebih efektif daripada model pembelajaran konvensional. Abstract

Tujuan dalam penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan model project based learning dalam meningkatkan kreativitas siswa kelas VI sekolah dasar pada materi rotasi dan revolusi bumi. Metode yang digunakan yaitu Quasi Eksperimen dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design pretest-postest. Subyek peneltian yaitu siswa kelas VI di salah satu sekolah dasar di wilayah Kabupaten Garut. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen non tes berupa angket CAT. Pengolahan data menggunakan uji kendall’s w. Hasil penelitian diperoleh berdasarkan uji kendall’s w sebesar 0,538 pada kelas kontrol dan uji kendall’s w sebesar 0,885, sehingga kedua kelas tersebut menunjukan adanya tingkat kesepakatan yang tinggi antara ketiga juri terhadap produk yang telah dibuat oleh siswa, hal tersebut memberikan penguatan serta keyanyikan bahwa para juri memberikan penilaian dengan keselarasan yang kuat serta dapat diandalkan

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan temuan di lapangan bahwa pembelajaran IPA masih belum optimal dikarenakan pemilihan media pembelajaran yang digunakan guru kurang bervariatif terutama pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia yang materinya bersifat abstrak sehingga berpengaruh pada pemahaman konsep siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruh media animasi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep pada materi sistem pencernaan manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen dengan desain penelitian One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Untuk mengetahui bagaimana pengaruhnya maka dilakukan uji Paired Sampels T-Test dan uji N-Gain. Hasil yang di dapat dari uji Paired Samples T-Test menunjukkan bahwa H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima dengan tingkat signifikasi (sig.) 0,000 (p value < 0,05) kemudian hasil dari uji N-Gain memperoleh nilai 66% termasuk dalam kategori cukup efektif. Berdasarkan penjelasan tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa pembelajaran melalui penggunaan media animasi pada penelitian ini terdapat pengaruh yang signfikan terhadap pemahaman konsep siswa pada pembelajaran, yang artinya media animasi tersebut memang tepat digunakan dalam pelajaran IPAS materi sistem pencernaan manusia.
