Abstract

This conceptual article explores the integration of Deep Learning principles into English Language Teaching (ELT) through the Cooperative Learning technique, Number Head Together (NHT), to enhance students’ speaking skills in Indonesian high school classrooms. This instructional model is constructed within the Genre-Based Approach (GBA) framework and aims to support the implementation of the Emancipated Curriculum. By aligning with the principles of mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning, this model encourages students to think critically, engage in collaborative discussions, and apply language in real-life contexts. This article provides a detailed explanation of how Cooperative Learning techniques can be strategically used to manifest Deep Learning, particularly in teaching high school students to express opinions. Through theoretical exploration and a structured instructional strategy, this framework offers practical implications for English teachers to design effective, student-centered speaking lessons that foster both language proficiency and higher-order thinking skills.

Abstract

Student character development is a crucial part of the primary education process, particularly in facing the challenges of the globalization era, which demands a strong character in the younger generation. This study aims to examine the role of teachers in developing student character through a coaching approach at SDN Kalideres 09 Pagi Jakarta. The research method used was a qualitative approach with a case study technique. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of teachers and fifth-grade students. The results indicate that the coaching approach has a positive impact on student character development, such as increased responsibility, discipline, empathy, and honesty. Teachers act as facilitators, mentors, and guides, helping students recognize their potential and set character goals. This study recommends the systematic implementation of a coaching approach in the learning process as a strategic effort to develop strong and sustainable student character. Abstract

Higher education plays a strategic role in producing superior human resources capable of facing global challenges. The success of higher education delivery is largely determined by the effectiveness of educational unit management, encompassing planning, organizing, directing, and controlling. This research, conducted using a literature review method, aimed to examine the key dimensions of higher education management, such as learning management, human resource management, financing management, and facilities and infrastructure management. The results of the study indicate that these four managerial functions are interconnected and must be synergistically integrated to achieve efficient and high-quality higher education governance. The analysis chart shows that the planning function has the highest contribution to institutional effectiveness, followed by directing, controlling, and organizing. Furthermore, the use of Management Information Systems (MIS) is a crucial instrument in integrating these functions and supporting data-driven decision-making. Therefore, an adaptive, technology-based, and responsive managerial approach to national policy is needed to drive sustainable higher education transformation. Abstract

Chili is not only used for household consumption as a cooking spice or mixed ingredient in various food and beverage processing industries, but also used for the manufacture of medicines and cosmetics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of chicken manure and NPK Mutiara Professional fertilizer and their interactions on katokkon chili plants, to determine the best dosage of chicken manure and NPK Mutiara Professional fertilizer for katokkon chili plant productivity. The study was conducted on February 5-May 2023. The research location is located in Tenggarong sub-district, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. The study used an experimental design with a 4 x 3 factorial analysis in a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with 4 replications. Consisting of 2 treatment factors. Factor I, Chicken Manure Dose (A) consists of 4 levels, namely: without chicken manure or control (a0), fertilizer dose of 125 g/polybag (a1), fertilizer dose of 250 g/polybag (a2), and fertilizer dose of 500 g/polybag (a3). Factor II, Mutiara Professional NPK Fertilizer (M)) consists of 3 levels, namely: without Mutiara Professional NPK fertilizer or control (m0), fertilizer dose of 1.80 g/polybag (m1), and fertilizer dose of 3.60 g/polybag (m2). The results showed that the chicken manure treatment had no significant effect on plant height at 15 days after planting, age at flowering and age at harvest. It had a significant effect on plant height at 30 days after planting. It had a very significant effect on plant height at 45 days after planting and fruit weight per plant. The interaction of treatments had no significant effect on plant height at 15 days after planting, age at flowering and age at harvest.

Abstract

Anggrek merupakan tanaman hias yang memiliki nilai ekonomi lebih tinggi bila dibandingkan dengan jenis tanaman hias lainnya. Tujuan penelitian dilakukan ingin mengetahui pertumbuhan plantlet Anggrek Vanda Tricolor Varietas Suavis pada perlakuan media dasar MS dengan Zat Pengatur Tumbuh dan Arang Aktif Dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda. Penelitian ini telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei 2019 hingga Agustus 2019 di Laboratorium Kultur Jaringan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas 17 Agustus 1945 Samarinda. Mengunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) percobaan (4x4), diulang sebanyak 3 kali, yang terdiri dari 2 faktor. Faktor I adalah Konsentrasi Zat Pengatur Tumbuh IBA (I), terdiri atas 4 taraf yaitu : (i0) IBA, (i1) 0,3 ppm IBA, (i2) 0,6 ppm IBA, (i3) 0,9 ppm  IBA. Faktor II adalah Dosis Arang Aktif (A) terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu : (a0) Tanpa Arang Aktif, (a1) 2 gram Arang Aktif/liter media, (a2) 4 gram Arang Aktif/liter media, (a3) 6 gram Arang Aktif/liter media. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan Zat Pengatur Tumbuh IBA berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang akar umur 3 bulan setelah tanam. panjang akar tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan i3 (0,9 ppm IBA) yaitu mencapai 3,83 cm. Perlakuan Arang Aktif menujukan bahwa berpengaruh nyata terhadap tinggi plantlet umur 1 bulan setelah tanam. plantlet tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan a1 (2 gram Arang Aktif) yaitu 3,33 cm. Interaksi (IxA) perlakuan berpengaruh nyata terhadap perlakuan IBA dan Arang Aktif pada jumlah daun umur 3 bulan setelah  tanam, interaksi terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan i0a2 (Tanpa Zat Pengatur Tumbuh IBA dan 4 gram Arang Aktif)yaitu 2,67 cm. Tinggi plantlet umur 2 bulan setelah tanam, Interaksi terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan i2a1 (0,6 ppm Zat Pengatur Tumbuh IBA dan 2 gram Arang Aktif)yaitu 6,00 cm. Jumlah akar umur 3 bulan setelah tanam, Interaksi terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan i0a2 (Tanpa Zat Pengatur Tumbuh IBA dan 4 gram Arang Aktif)yaitu 2,00 cm.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in-depth students' experiences using board games specifically designed for learning sequences and series at the junior high school level. This study adopted a phenomenological method to explore students' perceptions, motivations, and interactions during the learning process. The board game not only presents a summary of formulas and practice problems but also emphasizes visual aspects and interactivity as part of the media content integrated into the learning. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, and student reflections after the board game learning session. The results showed that the attractive visual design and interactive elements of the board game increased enthusiasm, engagement, and a more meaningful understanding of social arithmetic concepts. Students felt more motivated and active in group discussions and were able to relate mathematics material to real-life situations through play. These findings emphasize the importance of innovative game-based learning media that emphasizes visual aspects and interactivity to create enjoyable and effective learning experiences.

Abstract

Fruit is an important intake for the human body, apples are included in the fruit favored by the people of Indonesia. For this reason, it is necessary to provide apples of good quality, so that they can benefit the body. By using the k-NN method that is considered able to train data quickly and effectively for training data and testing data in large quantities. This study began from the collection of datasets obtained from https://www.kaggle.com/, then perform a preprocessing process followed by separating the training data and testing data with a composition of 25% testing data and 75% training data. Then the k-NN method is applied to this study to be classified based on several existing criteria, so as to obtain the results of performance evaluation K-NN with the value of accuracy that has been calculated with python programming. In implementing datamining using Python programming language by utilizing the library that has been provided as a process to facilitate the implementation of machine learning. From The Matrix confution test, there are 441 data predicted with true data, and 440 data predicted incorrectly. As for the 54 and 65 data predicted to be less precise than 1000 testing data. So that the accuracy value obtained by the k-NN method is equal to 0.88 or 88%. It is seen that the k-NN method can work well, quickly and efficiently in training large amounts of data.

Abstract

The industrial sector's manufacturing businesses, especially those in the property and real estate subsector, significantly contribute to the growth of the national economy. Firm value becomes an important metric for investors to evaluate a company's performance and prospects in the face of global economic challenges and fierce market competition. Leverage, liquidity, and profitability are just a few of the internal basic elements that can affect a company's value. The purpose of this study is to examine how the cash ratio, debt to asset ratio, and return on equity affect the firm value of manufacturing companies in the industrial sector that are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the 2022–2024 period. This study uses the ex post facto method in a quantitative manner. Purposive sampling was used to pick a sample of 18 enterprises, yielding 54 observational data points over a three-year period. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to examine the data, which came from the companies' annual financial reports. The findings show that while DAR has no discernible impact on company value, ROE and cash ratio do, to a certain extent. At the same time, cash ratio, DAR, and ROE all have a big impact on company value. This study can be taken into account by investors and management, showing that while leverage should be properly managed, a company's profitability and liquidity performance are more important in raising the market's view of firm worth.

Abstract

The low level of students’ mathematical literacy, particularly in linking mathematical concepts to daily life, remains a challenge in education. This study develops an interactive Student Worksheet that incorporates Malay maritime culture to enhance seventh-grade students’ mathematical literacy through differentiated learning. Cultural elements such as the traditional game porok and the fish trap bubu are included, since both represent proportional concepts relevant in mathematics. Differentiation is based on diagnostic tests of students’ literacy levels and applied to process and content aspects, adjusted to their readiness. The research follows the ADDIE development model through analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phases. Practicality testing involved one mathematics teacher and 30 students from Class VII.E at SMP Negeri 17 Bintan, while effectiveness testing used the same participants. Data were collected using interviews, validation and practicality questionnaires, and literacy tests adapted from the 2022 PISA framework, focusing on reasoning and problem-solving. The findings show the worksheets is highly valid (88.14%) and practical, with positive responses from the teacher (93%) and students (88.40%). An N-Gain score of 0.75 (high category) confirms effectiveness. These results indicate that the developed worksheets successfully improve students’ mathematical literacy through differentiated learning and the integration of Malay maritime culture.

Reading is one of the important skills in learning English because it is a window to knowledge and a foundation for developing other language skills. However, students' reading skills in Indonesia remain low due to various factors, coupled with reading learning that still tends to be shallow and focused on memorization. Therefore, a learning strategy is needed that focuses not only on the final result but also on the thinking process and deep understanding. Although both Deep Learning and Cooperative Learning have proven effective in enhancing reading skills, there has been no research examining how Cooperative Learning can be used as a method for implementing the Deep Learning approach. Therefore, this article aims to explore how Cooperative Learning can be used as a method for implementing the Deep Learning approach to enhance reading skills. This article uses a library research method with a focus on the Jigsaw type as a representation of Cooperative Learning that implements Deep Learning. Jigsaw implements the principles of mindful learning through conscious and attentive student involvement, meaningful learning through linking information from the text to personal experiences, and joyful learning through a collaborative and enjoyable learning atmosphere. In conclusion, Cooperative Learning can serve as a method for implementing Deep Learning to enhance students' reading skills. The implications of this article can serve as a reference for teachers in optimizing teaching reading and can also be the basis for empirical research in the future.
