Abstract

In the face of the substantial impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, Industry 4.0 has expedited innovation in several industries, including education. The objective of this study is to investigate the impact of intrinsic and extrinsic influences on the job satisfaction of counselors by applying Herzberg's dual factor theory. The employed methodology is a systematic literature review, encompassing the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, data abstraction, and analysis. This study examined scholarly papers published between 2019 and 2023, with a specific focus on school counselors and the field of guidance education. After applying rigorous inclusion and exclusion criteria, the selection procedure yielded 10 pertinent articles out of 378 discovered documents. The study findings suggest that motivating circumstances, such as professional recognition, achievement, and development possibilities, have a substantial impact on the job satisfaction of counselors. By contrast, job discontent and burnout are linked to hygienic variables such as an excessive workload and insufficient institutional assistance. The present study highlights the necessity of achieving a harmonious equilibrium between motivators and hygienic elements in order to enhance the psychological well-being and job satisfaction of counselors. The results of this study offer valuable perspectives for the formulation of policies and implementation of strategies that promote the well-being of counselors in educational environments.

Abstract

Psychological assessment for students is one of the activities that cannot be separated from counseling services. Psychological attributes obtained from the implementation of the assessment can be used by school counselors to intervene and develop counseling programs. However, conditions in the field indicate that school counselors still have not carried out a comprehensive assessment of the condition of students, so this has an impact on the effectiveness of counseling services. This research and community service aims to provide training and skills for school counselors in conducting psychological assessments using an Android application called Potential. The urgency of using this application has increased since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, where students and school counselors cannot meet face-to-face. This community service is carried out in stages in a series of workshops and independent training. School counselors are provided with a Potential account that can be used at their school. The results of community service activities show that students' psychological conditions are generally mapped through applications and assist school counselors in planning and developing effective programs.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the application of Transactional Analysis in the context of group counseling. Transactional Analysis, developed by Eric Berne, is a psychological theory that examines social interactions to understand and improve interpersonal communication. In group counseling, transactional analysis is used to help group members recognize and change unhealthy or dysfunctional interaction patterns. This approach identifies three main aspects of a person’s ego: Parent, Adult, and Child, and how each of these aspects influences behavior and communication. This article reviews transactional analysis techniques such as therapeutic contracts, structural analysis, transactional analysis, life script analysis, and psychological games that often emerge in group interactions. Using case studies and practical application examples, this article demonstrates how transactional analysis can improve self-awareness, communication skills, and overall group dynamics. The results suggest that the use of transactional analysis in group counseling not only helps individuals address personal issues but also improves group effectiveness through a deeper understanding of the interactions and motivations behind behavior.
