Abstract

Abstract

This study determines the effect of group guidance intervention using the Gestalt approach with a fixed technique with feelings on students' learning plateau. This study used a quasi-experimental research design with a pretest posttest control group design. The population in this study were 547 students in class XI at SMAN 3 Padang and then selected with certain criteria as many as two classes as experimental classes and control classes, namely class XI I and XI II with a total of 64 students. Sample withdrawal used simple random sampling. It is taken 20 students who are divided into 10 students for the experimental group and 10 students for the control group. The research instrument used a Likert scale model. Data were collected at two different times, namely pretest and posttest. Data analysis techniques used Wilcoxon Signed ranks Test and Kolmogorov Smirnov.Based on the results of research and discussion, it is concluded that group guidance services using the Gestalt approach with a fixed technique with feelings can reduce students' learning plateau at school. Therefore, it is recommended that high schools need to maximize the implementation of group guidance in schools to help reduce students' learning plateau. Therefore, it is recommended that school counselors and advisors use this technique more frequently in group counseling sessions. This technique encourages students to become more aware of and express their feelings, which can help them cope with stress and academic pressure, ultimately assisting students in overcoming their learning burnout

Abstract

General AUM (General Problem Revealing Tool) is a non-test assessment instrument developed to identify problems experienced by students in various aspects of their lives, including personal, social, learning, family, and others. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of General AUM as an early identification tool in guidance and counseling services. The method used is a descriptive qualitative study with a literature review approach. The results of the study indicate that General AUM is effective as a non-test assessment instrument because it is able to dig up data widely, quickly, and systematically from the students' own perspectives. The use of General AUM also helps BK teachers in designing targeted services according to students' needs. However, its effectiveness is highly dependent on the counselor's interpretation skills and the students' openness in filling out the instrument.

Abstract

This article is compiled using a literature review method. Previous scientific works related to the literature review are the main sources of this research. Data collection methods include books, journal articles, internet articles, and other writings related to the subject. This study analyzes how the role of ethics and aesthetics is applied in guidance and counseling services. Understanding job talents and interests is an essential component in guidance and counseling, especially in supporting students to recognize their potential and design their future careers appropriately. Talent as a natural potential and interest as a developing psychological drive, both complement each other in the career decision-making process. The role of Guidance and Counseling teachers is very strategic in this process, through the provision of assessment services, counseling, and program development that supports the exploration of students' potential. The use of measuring instruments such as GATB, DAT, and RIASEC allows for objective recognition of talents and interests, so that guidance interventions can be tailored to the needs of each individual. In addition, internal and external factors such as the family environment, school, and parental support also have a major influence on the development of student potential.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the role of Indonesian government in standardizing guidance and counseling assessment through comparative policy analysis among several countries and draw multiple implications for strengthening the assessment system in Indonesia. Professional guidance and counseling services require standardized assessments to objectively identify student needs, design appropriate interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of services. This research applied a qualitative descriptive-comparative approach with data collection techniques through document analysis of policy papers and expert interviews. The data were thematically and comparatively analyzed across countries. The results reveal that countries such as Finland, South Korea, and the United States have engaged powerful policy frameworks for guidance counseling assessment, including national regulations, standardized instruments, evaluation and supervision systems, and the integration of assessment into the educational system. However, national standard has not yet to be established in Indonesia consisting of the terms of instruments, procedures, and reporting systems. The findings indicate that the government should actively get involved in developing technical policies for the counseling assessment, enhancing the professional counselor’s capacity, and formulating data-based supervision systems. This research conceptually contributes to the development of counseling assessment policies and encourages the integration of assessment as a part of data-based education system.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the psychosocial conditions of caregivers who care for patients with mental disorders and identify their needs for guidance and counseling services. Using a quantitative approach with a descriptive design, 45 caregivers in the working area of the Pariaman City Community Health Center were selected as research respondents through random sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire measuring care burden, coping strategies, social support, and other psychosocial needs. The results of the study indicate that the majority of caregivers experience moderate to heavy care burdens, with dominant coping strategies being passive and religious in nature. The social support received primarily comes from the immediate family, while community support remains low due to stigma surrounding mental disorders. A total of 88.9% of caregivers reported needing counseling and guidance services. These findings underscore the importance of psychosocial assessment as a foundation for developing contextually appropriate counseling interventions to enhance caregivers' mental resilience and support patients' holistic recovery..
