Abstract

In Indonesia Gerakan Literasi Sekolah (GLS) launched by the government, has aim to make learners become literary generation. One of the literacy skills that should be developed nowadays is media literacy. Information can be more accessible to children through their ability to use information technology and media. This research aimed to determine the needs of media literacy of elementary school students. The purpose of this research is to know students' accessibility the most to media, media influence, and the importance of media literacy ability to be owned by grade V elementary school students. Through a survey approach that has been conducted on 83 students of Class V primary schools in Purworejo, Central Java, The results of this study describe that students of grade V elementary school in Purworejo have been familiar with media technology. Most of them can access the media especially television. Therefore, it is necessary media literacy ability to increase students' awareness of various content in the media information, so that students can be wise in choosing the appropriate content with his age.  The development of media literacy can be implemented in GLS

Abstract

This research aimed to describe language appropriateness of 2013 Curriculum text book for 1st Grade’s 1st Theme.This research was conducted with qualitative approach by document analysis method. The document utilized in this research was 1st Grade’s 1st Theme of text book which was not published by Ministry of Education and Culture. The research data was collected through content analysis utilizing validated instuments. The data was analyzed with Krippendof quantitatie analysis techniqe including data collection, sample determination, data recording, data reduction, conclusion drawing and recount. The results show that 1st book of non Ministry of Education and Culture publication has fulfilled all the determined criteria achieving good grade with 82.69% of Language Appropriateness. The weakness of this book is inappropriate materials sequence order, utilization of inappropriate words for children development, and utilization of inconsistent icons/symbols. The 2nd book of non Ministry of Education and Culture publication had fulfilled all the determined criteria achieving fair grade with 78.36% of Language Adbisability. The weakness of this book was utilization of inappropriate words for children development, and material suitability to intelectual development of the students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi sejauh mana keterlaksanaan peran komite sekolah ditinjau dari peningkatan mutu pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar se-Kabupaten Bantul. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian evaluative dengan pendekatan evaluasi model Stake (Stake’s Countenance Model). Hasil observasi terhadap proses keterlaksaan peran Komite Sekolah yang terjadi di lapangan dibandingkan dengan standar yang seharusnya sebagai kriteria untuk menentukan keberhasilan. Subjek penelitian adalah komite sekolah, kepala sekolah, dan guru SD di Kabupaten Bantul. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik angket, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Tahap antecedent (input dan perencanaan) pemahaman responden terhadap rancangan program implementasi peran Komite Sekolah belum sepenuhnya sesuai standar dan berkategori cukup dengan persentase 36%. (2) Tahap transaction terhadap implementasi program komite sekolah telah terlaksana dengan kategori baik dengan persentase 58%. (3) Tahap outcomes yaitu evaluasi terhadap implementasi peran Komite Sekolah terhadap tahap antecedent dan transaction masuk kategori cukup dengan persentase 47%. Implementasi peran program komite sekolah di SD Kabupaten Bantul belum memenuhi standar 100%. Oleh karena itu, hasil temuan dari penelitian ini diharapkan bisa dijadikan bahan untuk meningkatkan kinerja dari semua pihak. Kata kunci: Peran komite sekolah, Mutu pembelajaran

Abstract

This study aims to produce a Socioculture-Based Narrative model for the writing skillbased on communicative competence in the English subject at PGSD. This was a researchand development study employing the model by Borg Gall consisting of four stages,i.e.: exploration, model development and expert judgment, model tryout, and validation.The results are as follows. First, the developed model has taken into account of thefour communicative competence aspects, i.e.: grammatical competence, sociolinguisticcompetence, discourse competence, and strategic competence. Second, based on expertjudgment, the developed learning design is appropriate to improve PGSD students’writing skill. Third, the results of the product tryout show that the design is effective toimprove students’ writing skill. Fourth, the results of the t-test show a significant positiveeffect of the application of the developed model on the improvement of PGSD students’narrative writing skill.

Abstract

This study aimed to provide a general description of children song lyrics analysis and to describe the implementation of children songs in thematic learning at grades I - III of elementary school. This was a content analysis study that utilized qualitative approach. The data analysis technique consisted of: 1) collecting data; 2) selecting samples; 3) recording; 4) reducing; 5) making conclusions; and 6) narrating. The results of this study revealed that: 1) children songs had the benefit of conveying messages in a fun way; 2) in this analysis, one song out of eight songs contained the character values that did not match the 18 characters taught to students; 3) there were a lot of good character values in children songs, for example religious, honest, responsibility, discipline, independent, care for the environment, work hard, and care for others. Those character must be instilled for elementary school students, especially for students of grade I to III; 4) children songs could be implemented in thematic learning either to start the learning, as a learning material or as an example in giving assignments to students.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the influence of value clarification model to train discipline and responsibility for the student at PGRI University. This research is quasi-experiment. The population of this research is all students at the PGRI University. The sample of this research by using simple random sampling technique. The data were analyzed using MANOVA Test followed by Bonferroni post hoc test using SPSS 22.0 program. The results showed there is the influence value clarification model to build students’ attitude.

Abstract

AbstractThe aim of this research is to develop edutainment-based comic media in thematic-integrative learning in fifth grade of elementary school. This study is a Research and Development (R&D) using the Borg and Gall model. The data were obtained through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of comic media were obtained through a media expert product evaluation questionnaire and material from experts, educational practitioners, and peers. While the trial results were obtained through a questionnaire response given to 72 fifth grade elementary school students. The results of the validators indicate that the comic media is very feasible to be seen from the aspect of the media with an average is 92,27%, it is also considered very feasible from the aspect of the material with an average is 91,63%. Validation results with education practitioners get an average of 81,5% and 87,82% for peers with the criteria very good. The results of small class trial get an average is 84,72% and large class trial get an average of 91,6% with very good criteria. It also obtained an average is 91,6% from the teachers’ response questionnaire with criteria very good. Based on the results, the edutainment-based comic media is very feasible for SD/MI teacher to be used in integrative thematic learning. Most students believed that comics contribute to facilitate understanding of the concept of the material and provide fun for students in reading.Keywords: comic media, edutainment, integrative-thematic learning.   AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media komik berbasis edutainment dalam pembelajaran tematik-integratif di kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan dengan menggunakan model Borg and Gall. Data penelitian ini diperoleh melalui observasi, wawancara, dan angket. Hasil kelayakan media komik berbasis edutainment diperoleh melalui angket penilaian produk ahli media dan ahli materi, guru kelas, dan teman sejawat. Sedangkan hasil uji coba diperoleh melalui angket respon yang diberikan kepada 72 siswa kelas V SD. Hasil validasi ahli menunjukkan bahwa media komik berbasis edutainment sangat layak dilihat dari aspek media dengan rata-rata 92,27% dan aspek materi dengan rata-rata 91,63%. Hasil validasi oleh praktisi pendidikan mendapatkan rata-rata 81,5% dan penilaian teman sejawat mendapatkan rata-rata 87,82% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Hasil uji coba kelas kecil mendapatkan rata-rata 84,72% dan uji coba kelas besar memperoleh rata-rata 91,6% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Guru juga merespon sangat baik terhadap media komik berbasis edutainment dengan memperoleh rata-rata 91.6%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa media komik berbasis edutainment sangat layak digunakan dalam pembelajaran tematik-integratif di sekolah dasar. Banyak siswa yang meyakini bahwa komik mampu memfasilitasi pemahaman konsep materi dan memberikan kesenangan dalam membaca.Kata kunci: media komik, edutainment, pembelajaran tematik-integratif.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to describe and interpret learning planning and obstacles in the implementation of the 2013 curriculum in elementary schools throughout Depok sub-district, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta. It is a qualitative research type of phenomenology. The subjects of this study consisted of principals, classroom teachers, and students from Depok sub-district. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study showed that the teachers had compiled syllabuses and lesson plans in accordance with the themes and sub-themes determined.Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan memaknai perencanaan pembelajaran, serta hambatan yang ditemui dalam implementasi Kurikulum 2013 di Sekolah Dasar Se-Kecamatan Depok, Kabupaten Sleman, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif jenis phenomenologi. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari kepala sekolah, guru kelas, dan siswa se-Kecamatan Depok. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, guru telah menyusun Silabus dan RPP disesuaikan dengan tema dan sub tema yang telah dibuat oleh pemerintah.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kompetensi active speaking mahasiswa melalui model Communicative Language Teaching dalam proses kegiatan pembelajaran mata kuliah bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (Classroom Action Research). Subjek penelitian adalah mahasiswa  kelas  I  B  tahun  ajaran  2012/2013  program  studi  Pendidikan  Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD) FIP UNY. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan  teknik  observasi,  tes,  dan  catatan  lapangan.  Hasil  penelitian menunjukan bahwa penerapan model Communicative Language Teaching dapat meningkatkan kompetensi active speaking mahasiswa dalam proses kegiatan pembelajaran  mata  kuliah  bahasa  Inggris  di  PGSD.  Indikator  active  speaking (keaktifan berbicara secara aktif-komunikatif). Dalam proses pembelajaran, keterampilan active speaking menjadi fokus utama penelitian tindakan ini, dimana desain pembelajaran melibatkan empat kompetensi komunikatif yaitu: kompetensi gramatikal, kompetensi sosiolinguistik, kompetensi wacana/discourse, dan kompetensi strategi. Dilihat dari hasil penilaian siklus I  ada peningkatan rara-rata kelas. Nilai rata-rata kelas pada pra tindakan yaitu 61,77 pada siklus  I meningkat menjadi 76,38. Dan hasil penilaian siklus II  menunjukan adanya peningkatan rara- rata kelas yang cukup signifikan, dimana nilai rata-rata kelas pada siklus I yaitu 76,38 pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 85,04.   Kata Kunci: active speaking, communicative language teaching

Abstract

This study aims at determining whether there is a positive and significant relationship between three variables (teacher teaching style, learning motivation and learning achievement). The subjects in this research were 5th elementary school students in Saptosari sub-district, Gunung Kidul district, with a total of 141 students. This research is correlational quantitative research with data collection using a questionnaire in the form of a research questionnaire containing a scale. The hypothesis in this correlational study used partial correlation analysis and simultaneous regression analysis. The analysis used is data description analysis and multiple linear analysis. The results showed that there was a significant and positive relationship between learning achievement and teaching style got a value of 0.546 with a relative contribution of 23%. Meanwhile, learning motivation and learning achievement got a value of 0.462 with an effective contribution of 9% and the relation between teaching style and learning motivation on learning achievement show an r square value of 0.324 with a total contribution or effective contribution of 32%. Based on the results, it showed that teaching style and learning motivation have a significant and positive relationship with learning achievement.
