Abstract

Research aims: This study aims to determine investment decisions made by investors based on the performance of manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2021 based on an analysis of the influence of financial ratios.Design/Methodology/Approach: Profitability, stock price, and dividend policy ratios were employed in this analysis. This study employed a quantitative approach and relied on the usage of secondary data sources in the form of yearly reports to compile its findings. This research used a purposive sampling population of manufacturing companies listed on the IDX in 2018-2021.Research findings: The results of this study state that profitability does not affect investment decisions because companies employ profits generated in certain periods for other things, such as paying debts and distributing dividends. While the stock price has a positive and significant effect on investment decisions, the higher the stock price, the higher investor confidence in the company. This applies because the dividend policy is considered by investors, and the company has a responsibility to fulfill its obligations for the funds that investors have invested.Theoretical contribution/ Originality: This research contributes to signal theory, which states that every corporate action related to a company has the potential to produce information content as a signal. Information released as an announcement will give signals to investors to make investment decisions. Investors need information because it paints a picture of the company's history, its current state, and the effect the market crisis is having on its future.Practitioner/Policy implication: This research is expected to be useful as additional information for companies and investors. It canResearch limitation/Implication: For investors, they should pay attention to other aspects of the risk company's performance that are generally disclosed, for example the company's capital structure obtained from debt, the company's ability to pay taxes.

Abstract

Abstract

Fire is a disaster that can cause significant material and human losses. Kampar Regency in Indonesia is a fire-prone area due to short circuits, human negligence, and environmental conditions. This study aims to predict fire risk based on historical fire incident data and environmental factors using the Naïve Bayes algorithm. This method was chosen because of its ability to classify large-dimensional data with high probability. The research stages include data collection, preprocessing, data exploration, modeling, and model evaluation. Data were tested using splits of 70:30, 80:20, and 90:10. The results showed that the Naïve Bayes algorithm was able to provide prediction accuracy levels of 95.82%, 96.00%, and 95.45%, respectively. The highest accuracy level was obtained in the 80:20 scenario. These findings indicate that Naïve Bayes is effective in predicting high-risk areas for fire and can serve as a reference for relevant parties in developing more targeted fire prevention and mitigation policies.

Abstract

As one of the latest innovations in Indonesia, the launch of Danantara has attracted public attention, especially the X (formerly Twitter) social media community. Understanding public sentiment about the launch is crucial due to the varied reactions. Using the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method as the primary classification algorithm, this study aims to examine how Indonesians perceive the launch of Danantara. Data collected through scraping techniques from social media posts were then processed through text preprocessing processes such as data cleaning, tokenization, and normalization. Categorizing sentiment into positive, negative, or neutral can be done using the signal variable model (SVM). The results show that the majority of the public has a certain sentiment towards the launch of Danantara, as the SVM model can classify sentiment very accurately. In the future, this study will help stakeholders understand public opinion and create better communication plans.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of implementing the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on the academic achievement of fifth-grade students in the subject of Science and Social Studies (IPAS) at SDN Meruya Utara 08 Pagi. The research employed a quasi-experimental design involving two groups: an experimental group taught using the PjBL approach and a control group that received conventional instruction. Data were collected through multiple-choice tests that had undergone content validation and reliability testing. The analysis revealed that the average score of students in the experimental group was 85.74, while the control group obtained an average of 71.00. Statistical analysis using an Independent Sample t-Test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a meaningful difference between the two groups. Furthermore, the effect size analysis using Cohen’s d produced a value of 2.142, which falls into the category of a large effect. These findings demonstrate that the application of the PjBL model has a positive and substantial influence on students’ IPAS learning outcomes, offering an effective alternative strategy for enhancing student engagement and deepening conceptual understanding.

Abstract

Rapid advancements in medical technology, particularly in the field of dentistry, have led to significant progress in the application of medical imaging techniques to generate valuable image data. The resulting images often exhibit heterogeneous intensity distributions, with boundaries not always distinctly clear between the tooth roots and bone, along with variations in shape and pose. This study specifically aimed to identify the optimal image for segmenting specific parts of the dental structures. Image segmentation is crucial for ensuring effective diagnosis in the context of dental medicine. To achieve optimal dental image segmentation, this research combines edge detection methods with the determination of color thresholds, specifically grayscale and Hue, Saturation, Value (HSV). The research findings revealed that edge detection using the Sobel gradient operator yielded a relevant count of 17,099 pixels. Using RGB=3 and HSV=0.3 the color thresholds show an enhancement in the brightness of the resulting HSV-segmented image, while in the RGB-segmented image, the selected object appears more prominent. The findings of this study contribute significantly to the evolution of dental image segmentation techniques, potentially enhancing the accuracy and effectiveness of diagnoses within the realm of modern dental practice
