Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui; (1) keterlaksanaan model PBL dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis, (2) peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan model PBL, dan (3) respon peserta didik terhadap model PBL. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus tindakan. Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar observasi keterlaksanaan PBL, lembar observasi kemampuan berpikir kritis, soal test evaluasi, dan angket respon peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis menggunakan n-gainscore dan deskriptif persentase. Hasil: (1) keterlaksanaan model PBL pada siklus I terlaksana sebesar 79% (baik) dan pada siklus II terlaksana sebesar 100% (sangat baik), (2) kemampuan berpikir kritis pada siklus I dan siklus II meningkat setelah pembelajaran dengan rerata persentase ketercapaian indikator berturut-turut sebesar 61,2% (cukup) dan 91,4% (sangat baik), dan (3) pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL mendapat respon “Baik” dengan persentase 78% dari peserta didik.Kata kunci: Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis, Model PBLThis research aims to know;(1) the implementation of PBL model in improving the critical thinking skills, (2) the improvement of critical thinking skills with PBL model, and (3) the response of students to the PBL model. This study is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles of action. The instruments of data collection include observation sheet of PBL implementation, critical thinking ability observation sheet, evaluation test, and questionnaire of student's response to learning. The data obtained were then analyzed using N-gainscore and descriptive percentage technique. Results: (1) the implementation of PBL model in cycle I obtained the percentage 73% (good) and in cycle II obtained percentage 91% (very good), (2) critical thinking ability in cycle I and cycle II increased after learning with PBL model with the average of indicator achievement percentage 61.2% (enough) and 91, 4% (excellent), and (3) learning using PBL model get "Good" responses with percentage 78% from students.Keywords: critical thinking ability, PBL Model

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: (1) untuk mengetahui kelayakan modul pembelajaran IPA dengan tema “Pengangkutan Air dan Mineral pada Tumbuhan” yang dihasilkan ditinjau dari aspek kelayakan isi, penyajian materi, bahasa dan gambar, serta kegrafisan, dan (2) untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa setelah pembelajaran dengan menggunakan modul IPA yang dikembangkan. Penelitian pengembangan modul IPA ini menggunakan metode Research and Development (RD) yang mengadaptasi model penelitian 4-D dan dibatasai pada tahap define, design,dan develop. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah lembar validasi modul IPA, lembar observasi kemampuan berpikir kritis dan soal pretest-posttest berpikir kritis. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan adalah analisis deskriptif secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) modul hasil pengembangan dinyatakan layak oleh validator dengan nilai A dan kategori sangat baik, dan (2) modul IPA yang dikembangkan mampu meningkatkan kemampun berpikir kritis siswa dengan perolehan gain score 0,59 dan termasuk kategori sedang.Kata Kunci: modul, inkuiri terbimbing, kemampuan berpikir kritis.This research aims (1) to determine the feasibility of science learning module in the theme "Transport of Water and Mineral in the Plants" generated in terms of feasibility aspects of content, material presentation, language and images, and graphics, and (2) to determine the improvement of student’s critical thinking ability after learning by using science learning module. This development of science module research was uses the Research and Development (RD) which adapt 4-D model and limited to define, design, and develop stages. The instruments in this research were validation sheet of science module, observation sheet of critical thingking ability and critical thinking pretest-posttest tasks. Data analysis was descriptive analysis by quantitatif and qualitatif. The results of this research were (1) module was feasible according to the validators with A score and very good category, and (2) module could improve the student’s critical thinking ability with 0.59 point of gain score in medium category.Keywords: modul, guided inquiry, critical thinking ability

Abstract

Integrating technology has a positive impact on science learning. Technology multiplatform can be used as a didactic tool is physics education technology (PhET). This study aims to develop worksheet integrated PhET simulations. The development adopted the 4D model. The designed activity aims to engage students in critical thinking. The instrument for measuring critical thinking consists of 5 questions based on the critical thinking aspect: interpretation, analysis, evaluation, inference, and explanation. Content and media experts and two practitioners validated the media. The validation result shows a V index between 0.80 - 1.00 for all aspects with very high categories. The readability test was administered to 20 students and gained very good results. The effectiveness test was conducted on two different classes. The experiment class uses a worksheet integrated PhET, while the control class uses a worksheet without PhET. Students in the experiment class had higher critical thinking skills scores than those in class control. It can be interpreted that using worksheet-integrated PhET affected students' critical-thinking skills. The results of this study can be used as a reference for integrating technology into science learning

Abstract

Problem-solving skills are crucial in the modern era, so they become essential in increasing power competitiveness and adaptability. Research This aims to develop a virtual laboratory-integrated STEM-PBL worksheet. This research employs the research and development methodology using a 4D model. The validators consist of 4 media experts, content experts, and two practitioners. The readability test used 10 students selected from class VII by purposive sampling based on academic ability. This research shows that the STEM-PBL worksheet integrated with the virtual laboratory can increase students' problem-solving skills. Validation results show that all worksheet aspects are categorized as high with Aiken's Index value between 0.83-1.00. The practicality test of the worksheet obtained very practical category with a range value of 90-95% in all Implementation aspects of the worksheet, shows improving students' problem-solving skills with an overall N-gain of 0.51 (medium category), where improvement occurred in the solution implementation indicator (N-gain 0.70) and the lowest in solution evaluation" (N-gain 0.25). The effectiveness of the worksheet is proven through the Wilcoxon signed rank test, which shows a significant difference in students' problem-solving skills before and after treatment (p0.05)

Abstract

Technology advancements and an increasing number of mobile phone owners among junior high school students have opened opportunities for teachers to integrate technology into the learning process, especially in science learning. Before implementing mobile learning in the classroom, researchers must assess whether students are ready to adopt the technology. Adding the perspective of junior high school students in West Java, the research aims to present a quantitative survey on students' mobile learning readiness. An online questionnaire survey was used to collect data in this study. The results shown that students can use mobile learning in science learning. Almost all students have mobile phones to support mobile science learning. However, some students are still worried about the problem of costs when learning using mobile because it requires internet access. Nevertheless, students agreed to know more about mobile learning. These findings can serve as a reference point for further studies if mobile science learning is widely used in junior high schools.

Abstract

Science learning assessment has always been challenging for science middle school teachers, especially when assessing students' scientific inquiry skills, which are essential to the science learning process. The study aims to highlight the challenges teachers confront when assessing high school pupils' capacity for scientific inquiry. It is a qualitative phenomenological study using thematic analysis techniques. Five middle school science teachers from junior high schools in Central Java participated in this study. Utilizing interviewing approaches, data was gathered. Using Clark Braun's thematic analysis methodologies, data analysis is carried out in four steps: (1) identifying the data, (2) performing coding, (3) creating themes, and (4) reviewing and defining the themes. This study shows that both internal and external factors might affect teachers' ability to undertake scientific inquiry research. The issue of obstacles teachers confront from the perspectives of students and learning systems is summarized by external variables. The researchers advised science teachers to engage in active, ongoing competence development to help them overcome challenges in evaluating scientific inquiries.

Abstract

This article presents literature review on web-based e-learning in elementary school in the latest literature. SLR method and PRISMA protocol with the stages of identification, screening, eligibility, inclusion, and abstraction, data analysis assisted by the Publish or Perish 7 application, VOSviewer, and NVIVO 12 Plus. The results of searching for articles on Scopus through the Publish or Perish 7 application are 507. Then the articles were filtered according to compatible themes into 50 articles. The topic findings are web-based e-learning, elementary school, the impact of web-based e-learning and web-based e-learning concept, academic performance, teaching/learning strategies, online learning, Covid-19, HPC database, web-based applications, distance learning, 3D visualization, automation, strategic learning, semantic web, technology, education, linguistic content, big data architecture, learning setting, e-readiness, linguistic content, STEM, etc., that are directly or indirectly connected. The 50 articles were analyzed according to the specified topics through the NVIVO 12 Plus application, and the results were described according to the research questions. The findings in this article explain that web-based e-learning integrates pedagogy and technology and becomes part of digital multimedia implemented in e-learning, blended learning, and face-to-face that impacts elementary school students and teachers directly or indirectly. Future research needs to explore web-based e-learning in schools that is current, safe, and needed by students and teachers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) menghasilkan modul elektronik berbasis potensi lokal batik ecoprint yang layak meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik; (2) menguji keefektifan modul elektronik berbasis potensi lokal batik ecoprint untuk meningkatkan literasi sains pada peserta didik; (3) Mengetahui respon peserta didik terhadap modul elektronik berbasis potensi lokal batik ecoprint untuk meningkatkan literasi sains pada peserta didik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan atau Research and Development (RD) menggunakan model 4D (define, design, develop, dan disseminate). Pengumpulan kelayakan dilakukan dengan pengisisan angket validasi oleh validator ahli media dan materi. Desain penelitian yang digunakan yaitu one group pretest-posttest. Pengumpulan data peningkatan literasi sains dilihat dari hasil tes dan non tes menggunakan soal pretest-posttest literasi sains dan lembar observasi sikap literasi sains. Analisis keefektifan menggunakan standar n-gain. Pengumpulan data kepraktisan dengan angket respon peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) modul elektronik berbasis potensi lokal batik ecoprint yang telah dikembangkan layak digunakan untuk meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik dari segi materi dan media; (2) modul elektronik berbasis potensi lokal batik ecoprint yang telah dikembangkan efektif dalam meningkatkan literasi sains peserta didik; (3) modul elektronik berbasis potensi lokal batik ecoprint yang dikembangkan mendapat respon sangat baik dari peserta didik.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran sains model Advance Organizer terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan materi Pencemaran Lingkungan. Penelitian ini merupakan quasy experiment menggunakan control group pretest and postest design. Populasi penelitian yaitu seluruh kelas 7 di SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan Tahun 2017/2018. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster sampling. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari kelas eksperimen menggunakan Pembelajaran Model Advance Organizer dan kelas kontrol menggunakan Pembelajaran Berbasis Kurikulum 2013/5M. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis diperoleh dari pretest, posttest, dan lembar observasi kemampuan berpikir kritis. Analisis data yang digunakan adalah uji Independent Sample T-Test, Uji N-Gain dan Uji Effect Size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran sains Model Advance Organizer berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik Kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Piyungan dengan N-Gain pada kategori sedang dan effect size pada kategori tinggi.Kata Kunci: pembelajaran sains, model pembelajaran, advance organizer, berpikir kritis

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian tindakan ini adalah untuk mengetahui penerapan pendekatan keterampilan proses sains yang optimal yang dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Berbah, mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains dan hasil belajar siswa kelas VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Berbah. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas model spiral Kemmis dan Mc. Taggart dengan tahapan perencanaan, tindakan, observasi, dan refleksi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik analisis data deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan keterampilan proses sains yang optimal dilakukan dengan enam langkah, yaitu guru menetapkan tujuan pembelajaran beserta keterampilan proses sains yang mau dicapai (meliputi keterampilan mengobservasi, mengklasifikasikan, memprediksi, mengukur, mengkomunikasikan, dan menyimpulkan); guru mengajukan suatu permasalahan yang harus dicari jawabannya oleh siswa; siswa memprediksi berdasarkan permasalahan; siswa melakukan proses sains dengan mengikuti LKS yang disiapkan; guru membimbing siswa saat melaksanakan kegiatan; siswa menemukan jawaban atau hasil dari proses sains dan ketercapaian hasil belajar dan keterampilan proses sains termasuk kategori sangat baik.Kata kunci: pendekatan keterampilan proses sains, keterampilan proses sains, hasil belajar.The research’s purposes are to know the application science process skills approach optimal that can enhance the science process skills and learning achievement for the students class VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Berbah and know the science process skills improvement and the learning achievement for the students class VIII C SMP Negeri 2 Berbah. This research was class action research (CAR) by using spiral Kemmis and and Mc. Taggart model which consist four stages planning, action, observation, and reflection. This research using descriptive analysis technic. The results showed that science process skills approach which optimal was done with six steps, namely teachers set the learning aims and their science learning process (observing, classifying, predicting, measuring, communicating, and conclusing); teacher asked a problem that must be resolved by students; students predicting based on problems; students conduct scientific process by following worksheets prepared; teacher guide students when activity; students find answers results of process science and learning achievement and science process skills included very good category.Keywords: science process skills approach, science process skills, learning achievement.
