Abstract

Abstract

This study aimed mainly at producing Subject Specific Pedagogic (SSP) Statistics based on Character-filled Heuristic Strategies to Improve Students' Qualified Problem-Solving Ability built on the level of validity, practicality, and effectiveness. The study at this time was in synergy with the previous research as a new frame of mind that became the concept of development in achieving the main objectives. The present study employed a quantitative descriptive method with logical, analytical, and descriptive reasonings supported with relevant literature data. The instruments used were a test of problem-solving abilities and a questionnaire that was then analyzed descriptively and inferentially with two-way ANOVA formula. The study concluded that the heuristic strategy through the stages of identification, plan, do and check is an alternative solution to learning mathematics with high strengths and potentials in integrating characters into learning scenarios to be able to improve students' problem-solving skills and develop their character containing Subject-Specific Pedagogic.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence on strengthening social competence (Islamic Studies subjects; Arabic script) through the independent learning of reciprocal teaching models with a metacognitive approach. The population in this study was the fifth-grade students of SD Mujahidin Pontianak City. While the sample was taken randomly from two classes from 5A and 5C to class 5 students. One class received Reciprocal Teaching (RT) model learning with a metacognitive approach as an experimental group and one class received regular learning as a control group. The instruments used in this study consisted of three types of instruments, namely: (1) observation sheets, (2) students' independent learning scales, and (3) learning outcomes tests on Islamic Education subjects. Based on the data analysis in this study, the process of strengthening social competence through student learning independence in the subject of Islamic Religious Education uses the reciprocal teaching model with a metacognitive approach practiced at SD Mujahidin Pontianak can be seen from the main component of learning (core competence). Efforts to strengthen social competence through independence can be designed through a Reciprocal Teaching model with a metacognitive approach gradually and intact. The first process starts with the development of the lesson plan as an operational design in the practice of Islamic Education learning. Development of learning components in the lesson plan, namely materials, methods, media, sources, and evaluation that are more creative, innovative. The teaching of teaching materials as a whole, which includes cognitive, affective, and psychomotor teaching materials. Second, there are differences in strengthening social competence through independent learning between students learning Islamic education using the reciprocal teaching model with a metacognitive approach and students learning Islamic education using ordinary learning models. The independent learning of students in Islamic Religious Education in the group that received reciprocal teaching model learning with a metacognitive approach was better than the control group.

Abstract

This study aims to obtain objective information about increasing in writing skill about definitions and theorems in symbolic form students through RT models in the sets, all kind of relations and functions in set and logic courses. In addition, this study develop the ability of understanding of definitions and theorems, because the ability of students to write definitions and theorems in symbolic form will foster the ability of understanding of the definitions and theorems. The sample of this study are the first semester students in class A2 who follow sets and logic  course in mathematics education program of PMIPA FKIP Untan 2016-2017. Implementation focus on subject, sets and all kind of relations and functions. The data collection conducted in providing achievement test after being given treatment. Form of test is Essai with 15 questions which consist of  4 questions from subject set, 8 questions from kind of relations and 3 questions from functions. The results showed if the Reciprocal Teaching Model is one of model that could improve the writing skill about definitions and theorems through symbolic form in the subject matter ; Sets, kind of relations, functions in Sets and Logic courses.

Abstract

The value of mathematics contained in everyday life can be referred to as ethnomathematics. Ethnomathematics is learning mathematics found in cultural culture, ethnomathematics can also be used to apply mathematics in dealing with the natural environment and also in existing cultural systems. Indonesia has a variety of cultures, one of which is traditional games. There are many types of traditional games in Indonesia, one of which is the engklek game. The traditional engklek game is a game that many people know how to play and also in the engklek game there are elements of mathematics learning, for example the flat material contained in the engklek game. So the engklek game is found in mathematics learning, especially in the flat material.

Abstract

Mathematics learning using the Kahoot application as an evaluation material for mathematics learning is a technology-based learning system. Kahoot is a game-based learning platform, which is often used as educational technology-based learning. This platform is learning in the form of quizzes with answer choices. Kahoot can also make students learn math fun and not boring, so that students' thoughts about difficult and boring math can be broken. The Kahoot application is very helpful for teachers in building creativity and innovation in mathematics learning media that can be introduced to students in applying technology-based learning models easily and correctly. research and development methods (Research and Development). This game-based learning makes students more interested and increases the average score of students, as well as builds creativity and reasoning and makes students more active.
