Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the understanding on mathematic concept who were taught by using Quick On The Draw Technique was better than the students who were taught by using conventional technique at Class VIII SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Quasi experimental that designed randomized control group only design. The population of this research was class VIII students of SMP N 1 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten Pasaman Barat of 4 class. For determine the experimental class and the control class is done by randomly. Classes are chosen as experimental class is a class experiment is VIII.2 class and control class is the class VIII.3.. It can be seen from the mean score of experiment class 70.89,  control class was 57.78. Hypothesis testing by using t-test showed that t-was higher than  (1.97 > 1.68) with degree of freedom 95% so hypothesis is accepted. In conclusion, students’ understanding on mathematic concept who were taught by using Quick On The Draw technique was higher than the students who were taught by using conventional technique at calss VIII of SMPN 1 Ranah Batahan Kabupaten Pasaman Barat. Based on the above description the researcher gives advice to mathematical educator, to make quick on the draw technique as one of alternative to improve understanding of mathematical concepts of learners.Keyword : Quick on the draw technique, Understanding on mathematic concept

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine that the conceptual understanding of math and problem solving skill of students taught using the application of active learning strategies types Inquiring Mind Want to Know better than the conceptual understanding of math students taught using conventional strategy. This research is a quasi-experimental research with the design of randomized control group only design. The populations in this study were five classes of students of grade VII SMPN 35 Padang (165 students). The choice of class random sampling (random data retrieval). Classes are chosen as experimental class is a class VII.4 and control class is the class VII.5.  Data were taken from the results of final test is a test essay from each class. Based on the data analysis of research obtained that the understanding of math concepts and problem solving experimental class students is higher than the control class. This is evident from the average value of the test understanding of concepts and mathematical problem solving experimental class students is 76,45 while the average grade control is 63,27. Hypothesis testing using t-test, obtained tcalculate > ttable   (1,72 > 1,65) with a 95% confidence level, the hypothesis is accepted. So it can be concluded that the understanding of math concepts and problem solving students who apply active learning strategies types “Inquiring Mind Want to Know” better than on understanding math concepts and problem solving students using conventional teaching in class VII SMPN 35 Padang.Keywords: Active learning strategies types Inquiring Mind Want to Know, understanding math concepts, and problem solving

Abstract

Learning model chosen by educators teacher has not been able to accommodate the mathematics problems of students. For that, the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model was applied. The purpose of research is to collation the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who are using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model and using the ordinary learning model (scientific approach). This type of research is a quasy experiment with randomized control group only design. The population of this study were all students of class VII SMPN 1 Danau Kembar. For to get sample class with random sampling technique. As for the research instrument used in the study is a test of mathematical problem solving students abilities. Based on the results of this avarage mathematical problem solving students abilities experiment class and control class is 80,30 and 73,16. Than the hypothesis testing using the t-test. From calculation result obtained t_count > t_table 2,21 > 1,64) with alpha=0,05 with 95% confidence interval so H0 rejected and accepted H1.Keywords : Mathematical problem solving abilities, Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL)

Abstract

Abstrak:     Perbedaan      J umlah    Angka    Kuman     Pada    Tangan     dengan    Pencucian Menggunakan      Air,   Sabun,    dan   Jeruk    Sambal    (Citrus  Amblycarpa)    Pada   Tangan Mahasiswa    Poltekkes   Kemenkes    Pontianak.     Penelitian ini bersifat quasi eksperimen. Dilakukan dengan 3 perlakuan, pengambilan sampel secara Proporsional Random  Sampling yaitu mahasiswa Poltekkes Kemenkes Pontianak Jurusan Kesehatan Lingkungan, Gizi, dan Kesehatan Gigi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 27 sampe1. Hasil statistik menggunakan uji Anova One Way. P  value = 0,05 maka Ho ditolak, sehingga ada perbedaan  jumlah angka kuman pada tangan dengan pencucian menggunakan air, sabun, dan jeruk sambal (citrus amblycarpa) pada tangan mahasiswa Poltekkes Kemenkes Pontianak. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah rata-rata angka  kuman setelah mencuci tangan menggunakan air, sabun dan jeruk adalah 151,8 koloni, 64 dan 20,8 koloni, sehingga ada perbedaan jumlah angka kuman pada  tangan dengan pencucian menggunakan air, sabun, dan jeruk sambal (citrus amblycarpa) pada tangan mahasiswa poltekkes kemenkes pontianak. Abstract:               The  Differences    Amount    of  Germs   By  Washing    wih  Water,    Soap,   and Lime  in The  Hands   of Student   Poltekkes   Kemenkes   Pontianak.    This research  is quasi experimental,         which    conducted    with   3   treatments.    Sampling    in   this   research    is Proporsional   Random  Sampling  to the  students  of Environmental   Health,  Nutrition,   and Dental  Nurse  Poltekkes  Kemnkes  Pontianak.   Sampel  in this study is 27 sampeL Statistical results  by using Anova  One  Way.  P value  ~ 0,05 which  means  that  Ho rejected,  so there are  differences   amount  of  germs  by washing  with  water,  soap,  and  lime  in the  hand  of student  Poltekkes  Kemenkes  Pontianak.   Results  from this  study  is the average  number  of bacteria  after  washing  hands  with  water,  soap  and lime are  151.8 colonies,  64, and 20.8 colonies.  So there are difference  number  of bacteria  on the hands  by washing  with water, soap,   and     lime   (citrus   amblycarpa)    in  the   hands   of   students   Poltekkes   Kemnkes Pontianak.

Abstract

One of the problems in the world of education was the limited teaching materials that can help students enrich their experience, build students 'knowledge and support students' thinking skills to construct their own understanding in solving mathematical problems. One way that can be done to complement the shortcomings of teaching materials is to design an LKPD. LKPD is made using the CTL approach. Based on this, a CTL-based student worksheet (LKPD) was developed on set material for class VII students. This study aims to 1) produce CTL based LKPD that meets valid criteria 2) produce CTL based LKPD that meets practical criteria and 3) produces CTL based LKPD that meets the effective criteria. This is a development research with 4-D models. consists of four stages of development that is define, design, develop and disseminate. This research is only up to the stage of define, design and develop. Define’s  stage consists of : a) front end analysis b) student analysis c) concept analysis d) task analysis. Design’s stage consists of : a) LKPD design b) instrument design and validation of instrument penilain module. Develop’s stage consists of : a) the stage of validity  b) the stage of practicability an c) the stage of effectiveness. The results of this study indicate that based on the validator's assessment, The developed LKPD meets very valid criteria with an average of 89,14%. Based on the results of filling the practical questionnaire for educators, practical questionnaire for students and interviews with students showed that LKPD which was developed very practically was used in the mathematics learning of set material with an average of 88,20% by educators and 84,20% by students. Based on the results of the analysis of learning outcomes obtained the average value of the pre test is 59,9655 and the post test average value was 79,3793, then carried out the hypothesis with the t-test. From the calculation results obtained 5,0493 and  thus  with a confidence level of 95%. This shows that the hypothesis is accepted, meaning that the mathematical connection ability of students after using LKPD is better than the students’ mathematical connection ability before using LKPD so that it can be concluded that  CTL based LKPD is effectively used

Abstract

The use of mobile technology applications that are increasingly developing ultimately has a very positive impact on various fields of life, one of which is the field of commerce. However, rarely people know there is a smart cashier application because there is no advertise it, even though this smart cashier application is very easy for traders to determine profits every day, all transaction data will be recorded if we use the application. This application can make transactions that aim to input sales that are selling at the time and also if there is a merchant promotion that provides discounts (discounts) without having to calculate with a calculator and without fear of miscalculating. Tembesi Tower Community RT.03 / RW.16 Tembesi Village, Sagulung Subdistrict, Batam In particular, PKK Makmur Jaya mothers who have priority as trading entrepreneurs, such as having shops or stalls, selling food and so on. In general, Tembesi Tower people only use conventional media to count their merchandise in every transaction such as a calculator, so the level of consumer confidence is slightly reduced if the traders cannot calculate it correctly. Dedication is carried out with the aim to improve skills in the use of smart cashier applications as learning and reference in facilitating work aimed at the Tembesi Tower community in the Sagulung district of Batam.

Abstract

Cross Stitch is one kind of embroidery that makes stitching forming a cross sign (X). To begin a cross stitch, we need a pattern. Although cross stitch stores have already provided so many cross stitch patterns, sometimes consumer wants another pattern which is not provided, for example a pattern that describes someone's face or lovely pets. The aim of this research is to create a software that can make a cross stitch pattern with an image file input. The Bicubic Interpolation scaling algorithm is used in scaling process to change the size of the original image file to the size of the wanted pattern. Image file input is restricted to some image file formats, those are .bmp, .pcx, .gif, and .jpg. The outputs of the software are color pattern, and symbol pattern along with its symbol explanation. Borland Delphi 6.0 is used for the programming language. The software testing results show that a cross stitch pattern with the comparison ratio of the pattern size and the original picture size is more or equal to 100%, will look like the original picture even though the variation color is low. But if the comparison size ratio is less than 100%, then the similarity between the cross stitch pattern and the original picture depends on the color variation of the pattern. If there are many colors used on the pattern, the pattern will look more like the original picture. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Cross Stitch adalah salah satu bentuk penyulaman pada kain dengan menyulam benang membentuk tanda silang (X). Untuk memulai suatu cross stitch, diperlukan sebuah pattern yang digunakan sebagai patokan dalam menyulam. Meskipun telah tersedia aneka macam pattern cross stitch, tetapi kadang-kadang konsumen menginginkan pattern lainnya yang tidak tersedia, misalnya konsumen ingin menyulam wajah seseorang atau binatang kesayangan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan sebuah software yang dapat membentuk pattern cross stitch dengan input-an berupa sebuah file citra. Algoritma Bicubic Interpolation scaling digunakan dalam proses scaling untuk mengubah ukuran citra sesuai ukuran pattern yang diinginkan. Input-an file citra dibatasi pada format citra .bmp, .pcx, .gif, dan .jpg. Output software berupa pattern berwarna, dan pattern dengan simbol beserta keterangannya. Bahasa pemrograman yang digunakan adalah Borland Delphi 6.0. Hasil pengujian software menunjukkan bahwa pattern cross stitch dengan rasio perbandingan ukuran pattern dengan ukuran gambar aslinya lebih atau sama dengan 100 %, akan mirip dengan gambar aslinya meskipun warna benang yang digunakan sedikit. Akan tetapi, jika rasio perbandingannya kurang dari 100 %, maka kemiripan antara pattern cross stitch dengan gambar aslinya bergantung pada variasi warna benang yang dimiliki pattern. Semakin banyak jumlah warna benang yang digunakan sebuah pattern, maka semakin mirip pattern dengan gambar aslinya. Kata kunci: Pattern Cross Stitch, File Citra, Scaling.

Abstract

Neural network as an information processor system which has some similarities with human brain, is lately used to solve general problems. Neural network has several characteristics based on : architecture, learning algorithm, and activation function. Genetic algorithm is a method to get an optimum function using genetic operations which is done to each individual in a population that is often called as chromosome. This way, to get a more optimum function is by colliding neural network and genetic algorithm. That is by doing a bias conversion and the weight to the neural network into a kind of individual form of genetic algorithm and the other way arround. Thus, a conclusion can be drawn about neural network learning method with or without genetic algorithm. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Neural network sebagai suatu sistem pengolah informasi yang mempunyai kemiripan dengan jaringan otak manusia, belakangan ini sering digunakan untuk menyelesaikan suatu permasalahan. Neural network memiliki beberapa karakteristik yang ditentukan oleh : arsitektur, algoritma pelatihan serta fungsi aktivasi. Algoritma genetika adalah suatu metode untuk mendapatkan suatu fungsi yang optimal dengan menggunakan operasi-operasi genetika yang dilakukan pada tiap-tiap individu yang terdapat dalam suatu populasi yang seringkali disebut sebagai kromosom. Dalam hal ini untuk mendapatkan kemungkinan suatu fungsi bisa lebih optimal adalah dengan menggabungkan antara neural network dengan algoritma genetika. Adapun caranya adalah dengan melakukan proses konversi bias dan bobot pada neural network ke dalam bentuk individu pada algoritma genetika dan demikian sebaliknya. Sehingga nantinya bisa didapatkan suatu kesimpulan antara metode pelatihan neural network dengan dan tanpa menggunakan algoritma genetika. Abstract

Many people need geographical information nowadays, such as: the distance between areas, information about some areas, information about nature resources in that area, to search for accident area, and others geographical information. Geographical Information System (GIS) is only one from many others solution to seek for geographical information. This research aim is to make software that can give some geographical information for shortest path between towns in East Java. Others information that can be gain is information about governmental, population, tourism places, mountains, special food, handicraft, and traditional art. This software is designed with database not using satellite, so much cheaper compare with using satellite. This software use Dijkstra's method to seek the shortest path from one node to another node in the picture, so this program can't give alternative path. GIS can give answer for anything that related with geographical situation. Peoples can use GIS power to reach for a better life. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Informasi mengenai geografi semakin dibutuhkan oleh banyak pihak, misalnya informasi untuk mengetahui jarak antara satu daerah dengan daerah lain, informasi seputar daerah yang diinginkan, informasi tentang sumber daya alam yang dicari, informasi untuk menemukan lokasi kecelakaan dengan cepat, dan banyak informasi mengenai geografi lainnya. Geographical Information Systems (GIS) merupakan salah satu solusi untuk mendapatkan informasi geografi tersebut. Tujuan perancangan adalah membuat suatu perangkat lunak yang dapat memberikan informasi geografi mengenai rute jalan terpendek antara kota yang satu dengan kota yang lainnya di Jawa Timur. Sedangkan informasi lainnya yang dapat diperoleh antara lain informasi mengenai pemerintahan, jumlah penduduk, tempat wisata, nama gunung, makanan khas, kerajinan, dan `kesenian tradisional yang berasal dari suatu daerah. Program ini dirancang tanpa menggunakan satelit namun hanya menggunakan database, sehingga penggunaannya lebih murah dibandingkan dengan menggunakan satelit. Perancangan dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode Dijkstra's yang merupakan salah satu algoritma yang berguna untuk mencari lintasan terpendek dari satu titik ke titik lain dalam gambar. Metode Dijkstra's dipilih karena metode ini hanya mengeluarkan satu nilai output yang merupakan lintasan terpendek. Oleh karena itu, program ini tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk memberikan jalan alternatif. GIS dapat dimanfaatkan untuk memenuhi keingintahuan manusia terhadap segala sesuatu yang berhubungan dengan keadaan geografi. Masyarakat dapat memanfaatkan semua kemampuan yang dimiliki oleh GIS untuk menjalankan kehidupan ke arah yang lebih baik. Kata kunci: Geographical Information Systems, Dijkstra

Abstract

Ringtone Monophonic have a different form in writing, depends on kind or type of its mobile phone. For example for Siemens c1(1/16) d1(1/8) but for Nokia 16c1 8d1 so, to input the ringtones from Siemens mobile phone to Nokia mobile phone needs a converter. Deterministic Finite Automata (DFA) from language and automata theory with logical method can be used to convert ringtone which DFA will be used to check the ringtone that had been entered (it can be compose by own or open it from a text file) and logical method is used for changing pattern or writing ringtone between different kinds of mobile phone by changing and fiting the writing pattern of the tap, octave and source ringtone to be writing pattern of the tap, octave and target ringtone through the iteration process as much as the ringtone had been entered. Finally, this research software can be used to convert and compose the ringtone for four different types of mobile phone such as Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and Siemens. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Ringtone monophonic mempunyai suatu pola atau bentuk penulisan yang berbeda antara jenis handphone yang satu dengan jenis handphone yang lainnya, sebagai contoh untuk Siemens c1(1/16) d1(1/8) sedangkan Nokia 16c1 8d1 sehingga untuk memasukkan ringtone jenis handphone Siemens ke jenis handphone Nokia diperlukan suatu konversi. Deterministic Finite Otomata (DFA) dari teori bahasa dan otomata beserta metode logika dapat digunakan untuk melakukan konversi ringtone, dimana DFA digunakan untuk melakukan pemeriksaan terhadap ringtone yang diinputkan (dengan membuat ringtone sendiri (compose) atau membuka ringtone dari text file) dan metode logika digunakan untuk melakukan pengubahan pola atau penulisan ringtone dari jenis handphone yang satu ke jenis handphone lainnya dengan mengubah dan menyesuaikan pola penulisan ketukan, oktav dan nada ringtone sumber menjadi pola penulisan ketukan, oktav dan nada ringtone tujuan melalui proses iterasi sebanyak jumlah nada yang diinputkan. Pada akhirnya program dalam penelitian ini dapat digunakan untuk mengonversi dan mengubah ringtone pada empat jenis handphone yaitu ericsson, nokia, samsung dan siemens.
