Abstract

Gender microaggressions within counseling services are frequently challenging to detect due to their subtle or indirect nature, often remaining unnoticed by both counselors and clients. Despite their seemingly minor nature, these microaggressions contribute to a non-neutral therapeutic environment, adversely impacting the comfort and psychological well-being of individuals, especially within the inherent power asymmetries between counselors and students. This study employs a case study methodology to explore the various manifestations of gender microaggressions in high school guidance and counseling settings. Data were gathered via in-depth interviews and observations involving two counselors and six students. Analytical procedures were guided by microaggression theory, categorizing behaviors into microinsults, Microassaults, and microinvalidations. The results reveal that gender microaggressions are expressed through stereotypical gender roles, neglect of students' emotional experiences, and the use of gender-biased language. This research significantly advances the discourse on gender awareness in counseling practices and emphasizes the need for gender-sensitive training among counseling professionals to foster a more inclusive environment conducive to students’ psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study investigates the application of Islamic guidance and counseling to foster gratitude among students at Madrasah Aliyah (Islamic senior high school) Syekh Abdul Qodir Al-Jailani, Probolinggo. Using a quasi-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach, the study assessed gratitude levels before and after intervention. The gratitude scale, developed based on aspects of personal and transpersonal gratitude, was administered to a purposive sample of 229 students. Data analysis using a paired sample t-test revealed a significant increase in students' gratitude scores post-intervention (Sig. < 0.05). The intervention involved delivering materials on gratitude, positive perspective (khusnudzon), and appreciation, aligning with Islamic principles to promote emotional resilience, spiritual growth, and prosocial behavior. The findings suggest that integrating gratitude into Islamic counseling not only enhances emotional stability but also strengthens students' social relationships and spiritual well-being. For counselors, the study underscores the importance of culturally and spiritually sensitive approaches, particularly in Islamic settings, to address students' psychosocial and spiritual needs. The results imply that incorporating practices like reflection, prayer, and empathy into counseling can create a supportive framework for fostering gratitude as a sustainable habit, contributing to students' holistic development. This approach provides a model for counselors to align therapeutic interventions with clients' cultural and spiritual values, promoting resilience and overall mental health.

Abstract

Procrastination is the behavior of delaying tasks or responsibilities. In an academic context, procrastination refers to the tendency to postpone schoolwork or assignments. This study aims to identify the factors that contribute to the growing phenomenon of academic procrastination among students and its potential impacts. The research used a phenomenological approach, a qualitative method that explores individuals’ experiences of a particular phenomenon. The study involved six participants: three as primary data sources who frequently delayed submitting assignments in more than three subjects, and three as supporting participants. Data were analyzed using the Colaizzi model. The findings revealed that the main factors behind academic procrastination include fear of failure, low self-discipline, task aversiveness, and perfectionist attitudes. The negative impacts of this behavior include anxiety, excessive guilt, decreased productivity and motivation, sleep disturbances, physical health issues, and lower academic performance. The study suggests that future research should explore effective intervention strategies to help reduce academic procrastination among students. ___________________________________________________________________Prokrastinasi merupakan perilaku menunda tugas atau pekerjaan. Abstract

Juvenile delinquency is a complex phenomenon that affects individuals, families, schools, and society. The causative factors are diverse, such as disharmonious family conditions, peer influence, a non-conducive school environment, and a lack of self-control and understanding of religious values. This study aims to develop and test the validity and reliability of instruments measuring juvenile delinquency in SMA / SMK students. The method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). This instrument was developed through four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The content validity test was conducted by experts using the Content Validity Ratio (CVR) and Content Validity Index (CVI) methods. the instrument validity test used the Corrected Item - Total Correlation value with an rtable value of 0.5, while the reliability test used Cronbach's Alpha. The results of the content validation showed that the instrument was declared valid with a CVR value of 0.77 and a CVI of 0.44, the validity test value (rtabel> 0.235) of 23 statement item items out of 26 statement item items was declared invalid and the Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.832 which was declared reliable, this indicates that this instrument can be used to measure the level of juvenile delinquency in SMA / SMK students and provide a basis for further intervention.____________________________________________________________________Kenakalan remaja adalah fenomena kompleks yang mempengaruhi individu, keluarga, sekolah, dan masyarakat.
