Abstract

The Industrial Revolution 4.0 brings significant changes in human life with automation and access to information technology, which requires mastery of 4C skills: Critical Thinking, Creative Thinking, Communication, and Collaboration. Critical thinking skills are very important in supporting problem solving and decision making, and are closely related to scientific literacy. However, PISA data shows that the scientific literacy of Indonesian students is still low, with an average score of 74.56 in science learning. To improve this quality, the Merdeka Curriculum is implemented with a focus on project-based learning (PjBL), but the results are not optimal. The STEM-based PjBL model, which integrates science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, has proven effective in improving scientific literacy and critical thinking skills. This study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method with two cycles. The pre-cycle results showed an average value of scientific literacy of 73.28 and critical thinking of 72.14, below the Minimum Completion Criteria (KKM). Cycle I with PjBL increased the average value to 79.42 for scientific literacy and 79.28 for critical thinking. In Cycle II, after improvements to the teaching modules and learning media, the average value increased further to 82.28 and 82, indicating the success of the implementation of STEM-based PjBL. This model encourages problem solving, critical thinking, and collaboration, and prepares students with essential skills in the digital era.

Abstract

This research aims to: 1) Analyze the understanding and implementation of the concepts and basic principles of the Independent Curriculum within the context of existing educational theories; 2) Identify the main challenges in educational theory related to the implementation of the Independent Curriculum at the elementary education level; and 3) Evaluate and formulate proposed solutions in educational theory to address the challenges of implementing the Independent Curriculum at the elementary education level. This study employs literature research and case study methods to evaluate the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. The literature research design includes source identification, critical analysis, synthesis of findings, and conclusion drawing. The case study design involves selecting four public elementary schools in the village of Sukarara, data collection through interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. The results indicate that: 1) Educators have a good understanding of the Independent Curriculum as a flexible curriculum that integrates local wisdom and encourages active student engagement. However, field implementation reveals a gap between theoretical understanding and practice, caused by limited training and resources; 2) The main challenges identified include teacher readiness, availability of educational resources, and administrative support. Many teachers feel unprepared to adopt more innovative and flexible teaching approaches. Additionally, limited resources such as teaching materials and technology pose significant barriers, especially in remote areas. Insufficient policy and administrative support at schools also act as impediments; and 3) Proposed solutions to address these challenges include ongoing professional training and development for teachers, provision of adequate educational resources, and flexible policy support. Enhancing community and parental involvement in the educational process is also considered important for creating a more inclusive and supportive learning environment. The implications of these findings are expected to provide guidance for policymakers and educational practitioners in effectively implementing the Independent Curriculum at the elementary education level.

Abstract

CLIS is a learning model that seeks to develop students' ideas or ideas about a particular problem in learning and construct ideas or ideas based on the results of observations or experiments. The steps in the CLIS model consist of five stages: orientation, elicitation of beliefs, restructuring of ideas, application of concepts, consolidation of ideas or review of change in views. The idea rearrangement stage is still divided into three parts: disclosure and exchange of ideas or clarification and discussion, opening a conflict situation or exposure to a conflict situation, and construction of new ideas and evaluation or building of new ideas and evaluation. The CLIS learning model is suitable for learning, especially in science subjects, which can develop students' critical thinking skills and scientific attitudes. Critical thinking ability is a high-level thinking ability. Critical thinking is strengthening cognitive skills or strategies in achieving goals. Critical thinking aims to consider what will be obtained in making decisions with critical and logical reasons. A scientific attitude is part of science learning. Scientific perspectives tend to be attitudes towards whether students like or dislike science learning.

Abstract

Abstrak This research aims to identify dishes in the ngaturin tradition in Sembiran Village, Tejakula, Buleleng, Bali. The data collection techniques used were interviews and observation. The data analysis used is descriptive qualitative. The research results show three things. 1). The ngaturin ceremony is a ritual that must be carried out by all married men, carried out to provide compensation for the holy water received (the basis for the request for a hug) as well as to ask for a good place for the ancestors. What is unique is that the dish is served using beef, where most Hindu people do not consume processed beef. 2). The dishes served in the ngaturin tradition consist of the main dish, namely white rice, side dishes arranged in megibung covered with banana leaves, arranged starting with rice and side dishes. Side dishes with soup are served with a drizzle. 3). Food in the ngaturin tradition can only be eaten at the arrange temple and in the homes of people who carry out this tradition. Dishes cannot be taken outside the house or Sembiran village and can only be enjoyed for 1 day. If anything remains, it must be thrown away and buried. If the dish is taken outside the village, it will bring disaster to the community. The meaning is gratitude to God for his request that his ancestors be in the best place. Food is enjoyed in a megibung manner which means togetherness, mutual respect and respect which contains philosophical, anthropological, sociological and psychological values.

Abstract

The population in this study were all sixth grade elementary school students in Gugus II Ledokombo who implemented K13 with a total of 334 students. The sample consisted of 120 students who were divided into two experimental classes and two control classes using group random sampling technique. The instruments used were science learning outcomes tests and multicultural attitude questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using ANOVA. The results of this research show that: Testing the first hypothesis, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted (analysis results: "model" significance value (A) = 39.508) (Sig. < 0.050)). This means that there is a significant difference in science learning outcomes between students who take CPS learning, which is higher than students who take conventional science learning. Testing the second hypothesis, the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted (analysis results: significance value of "multicultural model*attitude" (A*B) = 4.468 (Sig. < 0.050)). This means that there is a significant interaction effect between learning models in science learning and students' multicultural attitudes on students' science learning outcomes. Testing the third hypothesis, the null hypothesis is rejected and the alternative hypothesis is accepted (Qtable (0.050) = 4.11, Qcount =8.518, Qcount>Qtable). This means that there is a significant difference between the science learning outcomes of students who have high multicultural attitudes when they are given treatment using CPS learning and conventional learning. Testing the fourth hypothesis, the nu hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis was accepted (Qtable (0.050) = 4.11, Qcount =4.237, Qcount>Qtable). This means that there is a significant difference between the science learning outcomes of students who have low multicultural attitudes when they are given treatment using CPS learning and conventional learning. Keywords: science learning outcomes, CPS, multicultural attitudes.DOI: 10.23960/jppk.v13.i1.2024.03
