Abstract

General Background: The global educational shift requires movement from surface learning toward complex problem-solving supported by intelligent systems. Specific Background: Adaptive learning grounded in Cognitive Load Theory is increasingly deployed to address diverse working memory capacities through data-driven adjustment. Knowledge Gap: Current implementations remain dominated by behavioral personalization while overlooking internal cognitive dynamics during learning processes. Aims: This study synthesizes empirical evidence to examine mechanisms of cognitive personalization, evaluate its contribution to deep learning indicators, and identify pedagogical constraints through a Systematic Literature Review. Results: Analysis of 13 studies reveals that adaptive systems operate as cognitive architects by dynamically reducing extraneous cognitive load, fostering higher-order thinking skills, improving retention, and stabilizing learning emotions. However, challenges arise from dual-task interface complexity, limited teacher data literacy, infrastructure constraints, and ethical concerns regarding data privacy and algorithmic bias. Novelty: The study advances a Human-in-the-Loop framework integrating AI with fading strategies to prevent analytical dependency while maintaining learner autonomy. Implications: The findings extend Cognitive Load Theory through dynamic load management and highlight the necessity of reconstructing teacher competencies toward AI-Pedagogical Content Knowledge while encouraging future validation across diverse learner contexts. Highlights• Dynamic load reduction mechanisms support sustained conceptual understanding and retention• Intelligent scaffolding increases higher-order reasoning but requires gradual assistance withdrawal• Implementation barriers relate to interface complexity, educator readiness, and system accessibility KeywordsAdaptive Learning; Cognitive Personalization; Deep Learning; Cognitive Load; HOTS

Abstract

This article argues that narcissistic distortion in Christian religious leadership constitutes a theological deformation of authority, which this study designates as the inward curvature of authority, rather than a merely psychological or moral failure. Through a psycho-hermeneutical analysis of five biblical passages, namely Ezekiel 34:1-10, Matthew 23:1-12, 3 John 9-10, Mark 10:42-45, and John 13:1-17, the study attends to specific lexical and grammatical features: the reflexive use of ra'ah in Ezekiel, habitual present disjunctions in Matthew, the dispositional philoproteuon in 3 John, domination verbs in Mark, and the eidos-grounded service syntax in John 13. The analysis demonstrates that these texts together disclose a coherent scriptural grammar distinguishing distorted from restored authority. Three recurring features of distorted authority emerge across the corpus: self-referentiality, instrumentalization of others, and systematic resistance to reciprocity and correction. These textual findings are brought into critical dialogue with Indonesian ecclesial discourse, where leadership idioms such as gembala, hamba Tuhan, and bapa rohani have functioned to legitimate asymmetrical power structures. The study contributes a biblically grounded theological framework for pastoral discernment, leader formation, and ecclesial accountability in the Indonesian Christian context.

Abstract

Contemporary multicultural Islamic education faces a significant challenge in aligning its educational evaluation practices with the broader objectives of inclusivity, ethical humanism, and intercultural coexistence. Existing evaluation systems remain predominantly oriented toward cognitive achievement, standardized assessment, and behavioral compliance, thereby inadequately capturing ethical awareness, empathy, social responsibility, and intercultural competence within diverse educational settings. This study aims to develop a transformative evaluation framework for multicultural Islamic education through the lens of inclusive pedagogy and ethical humanism. Employing a qualitative-dominant mixed-methods design with an exploratory sequential approach, the research was conducted across four Islamic educational institutions in Malang, Indonesia. The participants consisted of 36 educational stakeholders, including Islamic education lecturers, teachers, educational evaluators, administrators, and postgraduate students. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and expert validation questionnaires, and subsequently analyzed using thematic analysis and descriptive statistical techniques. The findings reveal that current evaluation practices within multicultural Islamic education remain heavily dominated by cognitive-oriented paradigms, resulting in the marginalization of ethical, intercultural, and humanistic dimensions of learning. The study identifies six core evaluative dimensions essential for transformative multicultural Islamic education, namely inclusive participation, intercultural competence, ethical awareness, empathy and social sensitivity, collaborative engagement, and equitable assessment practices. These dimensions were integrated into a proposed evaluation framework grounded in inclusive pedagogy and ethical humanism. The study contributes theoretically by reconstructing educational evaluation beyond academic performance and offers practical implications for curriculum reform, teacher development, inclusive educational policy, and sustainable human-centered education within pluralistic societies.

Abstract

The application of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) learning within the Independent Curriculum requires innovative instructional media to increase student engagement and improve learning outcomes. However, classroom practices still rely on textbooks and lecture-based methods, resulting in low participation and suboptimal achievement. This research aims to develop E-Flipbook learning media, examine its feasibility, and analyze its effectiveness in improving student learning outcomes. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the Borg and Gall model. Data were collected through expert validation, questionnaires, and learning achievement tests. The data were analyzed using a normality test, paired-samples t-test, and N-gain analysis. The results show that the E-Flipbook is highly feasible, with validation scores of 97% from material experts and 98% from media experts. Additionally, the paired-samples t-test indicated a significant improvement (p < 0.001), and N-gain results were in the moderate category. Therefore, the E-Flipbook is effective in enhancing student learning outcomes and supporting interactive learning processes.
