Abstract

Background: This community service activity aimed to increase the financial literacy of Indonesian students in Kampung Melayu, Sungai Buloh, Malaysia, through currency introduction and savings education based on visual learning and direct practice. The program was implemented as part of the International Community Service Program (KKN) of Universitas Islam Kadiri from 3–30 August 2025, with two main sessions conducted on 12 and 14 August 2025. The activity involved 27 participants aged 5–14 years at the Kampung Melayu Sungai Buloh Guidance Center. Methods: The activities were carried out in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. An experiential and participatory learning approach was applied, using visual learning media and hands-on practice to make piggy banks from recycled materials. Results: Activity documentation showed an improvement in participants’ understanding of the differences between Rupiah and Ringgit currencies, as well as an increased interest in independent saving. The activity also received positive responses from the guidance center management, with participants demonstrating active involvement and high enthusiasm throughout the learning process. Conclusion: This activity is effective in introducing basic financial literacy concepts through experiential learning and direct practice. However, differences in participants’ age levels remain a challenge; therefore, continuous implementation with age-appropriate material development is recommended to enhance long-term learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study examines the influence of facilities and infrastructure as well as location on customer satisfaction, with product quality and accessibility as moderating variables at Pondok Rumbia Restaurant, Sulawesi. Using a quantitative explanatory approach, data were collected from 100 customers through accidental sampling and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results reveal that facilities and infrastructure have a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, while location does not show a significant direct effect. Product quality significantly moderates the relationship between facilities and infrastructure and customer satisfaction, and accessibility moderates the relationship between location and customer satisfaction. These findings suggest that customer satisfaction is primarily driven by the quality of facilities, which is further strengthened by product quality and accessibility. Therefore, restaurant managers should integrate improvements in facilities, product quality, and ease of access to enhance overall customer satisfaction.

Abstract

Abstract

Indonesia has the largest areas of tropical peatland, which is becoming vulnerable to fires. Smoke haze crises due to forest fires that occur annually have plagued many parts of Southeast Asia between 2013-2015 with devastating effects on human health and economy. Fires spread fast on island peatlands in eastern Sumatra because their small catchments drain quickly into the sea. This research dived into the spatial and temporal patterns of peat wildfires in the Peat Hydrological Unit of Bengkalis Island. Drawing on remote sensing sources such as MODIS-C6 Terra/Aqua thermal hotspots from 2001 to 2020 and Landsat images, the findings revealed two clear yearly fire peaks in Bengkalis: Period I (January-March) and Period II (June-August). Hotspot density was concentrated in deep peat areas 57.3% of detections are from the 500-700 cm thickness class, and 93.1% from peat >300 cm. During 20 years, 343 fire-days burned a total of 56,202 ha; the largest single occurrence involved a burnt area of 19,999 ha in 2014. Monthly rainfall is the dominant climatic control, exhibiting a clear inverse relationship with hotspot frequency; rainfall below 100 mm/month defines elevated fire-risk conditions. These findings establish that MODIS hotspot monitoring combined with Landsat burned area mapping provides a robust long-term fire assessment framework, and that rainfall thresholds offer a practical operational basis for fire early warning systems on island peatlands.

Abstract

Abstract This research aims to analyze the influence of product knowledge, halal labeling, and taste on purchasing decisions among street food consumers in Lowokwaru District, Malang City. This research employed a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 102 respondents selected using purposive sampling. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to assess the impact of each independent variable on the dependent variable. The results indicate that knowing a lot about a product doesn't greatly influence someone's choice to buy it. In contrast, halal labeling and taste have a positive and significant effect on people's choices when buying food. These findings indicate that street food consumers in Lowokwaru District place greater emphasis on halal aspects and taste rather than their level of product knowledge when making purchasing decisions. This study provides implications for street food business actors to pay more attention to halal certification and maintain taste quality in order to increase consumer purchasing decisions. Keywords: product knowledge, halal labeling, taste, purchasing decisions, street food

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the influence of Perceived Taste and Café Atmosphere on Purchasing Decisions with Perceived Value as a mediating variable among consumers of Tomoro Coffee Dinoyo Branch. This research employed a quantitative approach, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 101 respondents who had previously purchased products at Tomoro Coffee. The data analysis technique used in this study was Partial Least Square – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the assistance of SmartPLS software. The results showed that Perceived Taste significantly affects Perceived Value and Purchasing Decisions. In addition, Café Atmosphere significantly influences Perceived Value but does not have a significant direct effect on Purchasing Decisions. Furthermore, the mediation analysis indicated that Perceived Value fully mediates the relationship between Café Atmosphere and Purchasing Decisions. This finding suggests that the café atmosphere does not directly encourage consumers to make purchasing decisions; instead, consumers’ perceptions of taste and value play a more dominant role in influencing their purchasing decisions toward Tomoro Coffee products and services. In conclusion, Perceived Taste and Perceived Value are more dominant in influencing consumer purchasing decisions than Café Atmosphere directly. The findings of this study imply that improving product taste quality and creating positive perceived value are important strategies for encouraging better purchasing decisions in the coffee shop industry. Keywords: Perceived Taste, Café Atmosphere, Perceived Value, Purchasing Decision, Tomoro Coffee.
