Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the low grade of third grader’s mathematics learning in SDN 164 Pekanbaru, seen from minimum criteria of mastery that defined by school policy is 75. 21 students of 34 in total did not achieve minimum criteria, with average grade value is 63,82. This condition is caused by the teacher learning method is lack of variaton. Beside, teacher does not use creative media in learning process. Those things make students lack of motivation and barely understand what they learn. Due to these issues, the action taken is cooperative learning using napier bone props. The purpose of this research is to improve students’ mathematics grade. The form of this research is a class action research. The subjects are III class students in SDN 164 Pekanbaru, consist of 34 students where there are 18 male and 16 female. Research instruments are test sheets, teacher and students observation sheets, and documentation files. The results showed improvement from each cycle. Teacher’s activities in first cycle was 62,5%, and increase to 66,7%. In second cycle was 83,33%, and increase to 91,7. Students’ activities in first cycle was 62,50%, and increase to 66,7%. In second cycle was 79,16%, and increase to 87,5%. Students’ average grade showed improvement too. Base grade was 63,82 increased to 66,17 on first test, and increased to 78,23 on second test. Based on these results, can be concluded that application of cooperative learning using napier bone media can improve students’ science grade of III class in SDN 164 Pekanbaru.Keyword : Cooperative learning, napier bone props, mathematics grade

Abstract

Abstract: The problem in this research is to learn science is still low, the teacher uses conventional learning in which learners are placed as an object of study as a passive recipient of information. Students just listen penjelasn teachers, students afraid to respond to the lessons, due to fear of punishment. This is evident from the data collection instruments used sheets obseravasi student activity and teacher activity during the learning process takes place in class III SDN 001 Rantau Panjang Babussalam Left faction. It can also be seen in the percentage of test scores of students who reached the KKM (Minimum Criteria exhaustiveness) in class III SDN 001 Rantau Panjang Babussalam Left faction is 42.86% of the 21 students with an average value is 64.52. The KKM specified school is 72. Of these problems need to do action research by applying inquiry learning model. This study aims to determine whether the application of this inquiry learning model can improve learning outcomes third grade science students at SDN 001 Rantau Panjang Kiri Kubu Babussalam academic year 2015/2016 the number of students 21 students. This research was conducted in two cycles, cycle I and II, each consisting of 2 meetings with one daily tests. Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the percentation of numbers of students who reach minimum result level of 80 is still low as it is shown in the first mid-semester 2014-2015. There were only 8 students (40%) of 20 students who reach minimum result level and 12 students (60%) students who did not reach the minimum result level with the average of 66,4. The problem happened because teachers were seldom to use learning model in learning process in the classroom. Of the problem mentioned, it needs to conduct a classroom research control by applying learning model based on problem. The research is located in the State SD Negeri 65 Pekanbaru, Pekanbaru and the subject of the research is 20 students of grade 5, with 12 males and 8 females. The reasearch is conducted in two cycles. In collecting data, the researcher uses monitoring sheet of teachers’ and students’ activity and daily test sheets. The result of the observation shown that teachers and students’ activity have increased. Teachers’ activity on the first cycle is 66,66% with good category, means increase, and on the second cycle becomes 85,41% with excellence category. Students’ activity on the first cycle increase to become 62,5% with good category, and then increase to become 83,91% or excellence on the second cycle. The result of the research shown that the result of study of students increase, with the basic result average 66,75 not complete category increace to be 79 or complete category, and in the second cycle more increasing to be 87,5% or complete category. The completeness of the study of students on the first cycle shown that 75% students have reached the minimum result level as it is certain. On the second cycle, increase to be 90% sudents who reach minimum result level and the completeness percentation as it is certain. The explanation above shown that through applying learning based on problem will increase the result of the study matematical and natural sicences of grade 5 of State SD Negeri 65 Pekanbaru, Pekanbaru in the academic year of 2014-2015.Keywords: Learning based on problem, the result of study mathematical and natural Sciences.

Abstract

Abstract: this research is a quasi experimental with non equivalent control group design based on how low students mathematics scores. The purpose of this research is to know the difference of the mathematics scores of students who learn by using three dimensional visual media with those who learn using two dimensional visual media. This research was executed in Muhammadiyah 6 elementary school Pekanbaru on the even semester of 2016/2017 study year. Subjects of this research were Muhammadiyah 6 elementary school 4th grade students with IVA students as control class and IVB students as experimental class. Early step of this research is by giving pretest to the control and experimental class. The next step is applying study methods using three dimensional visual media to experimental class and two dimensional visual media to control class. The last step is giving post test to control and experimental classes. Result of this research shows that there is a difference of significant increase of study results with 0.05 significant quality shown by average score of pretest taken by experiment class of only 54,96 increasing to 79,13 average scores of post test. With average gain of 0.54 (considered medium category). Meanwhile, control class average scores of pretest of 55, 67 only increasing to 64,33 on the post test, with the average gain of 0.05 (considered low category). Keywords: Three dimensional visual media, mathematics study scores.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is based on the low learning outcomes of science subject "ilmu pengetahuan alam (IPA)” of students grade 5th of SD Negeri 164 Pekanbaru, with grade average 61.38, while the minimum exhaustiveness criteria "kriteria ketuntasan minimal (KKM)” for IPA is 75. Among 36 students, only 14 students who reached KKM with 38.88% classical completeness. This research is type of classroom action research "penelitian tindakan kelas" (PTK) which aimed to improve IPA learning outcomes of students grade 5th of SD Negeri 164 Pekanbaru, by implementing problem based learning model(PBL). Collection data conducted by observation sheet of teachers activity and students activity also the learning result. The average of IPA learning outcomes obtained by students before action is 61.38, increased to 74.30 in the first cycle with the percentage increase of 21.04%. In the second cycle increased to 81.23 with a percentage increase of 32.33%. Teacher activity in the first cycle of the first meeting obtained a score of 13 (65%) with sufficient category and at the second meeting obtained a score of 16 (80%) with a good category. On the second cycle of the first meeting scores obtained are 17 (85%) with a good category and the second meeting obtained a score of 18 (90%) with a very good category. Student activity on the first cycle of first meeting had got score 13 (65%) with enough category and at the second meeting had got score 16 (80%) with a good category. In the second cycle of the first meeting scores obtained 17 (85%) with a good category and the second meeting scored 19 (95%) with a very good category. The result of research in 5th grader class of SD Negeri 164 Pekanbaru proves that implementing problem based learning model can improve student learning result of IPA subject. Keywords: Problem Based Learning, IPA Learning Result
