Abstract

Outing Class learning is a contextual learning strategy that allows students to gain hands-on learning experiences in a real-world environment. This type of learning is highly relevant within the Independent Curriculum (Curriculum Merdeka), emphasizing flexibility, hands-on experience, and the development of the Pancasila Student Profile. This study aims to describe how Outing Class is implemented as a contextual learning strategy in third-grade elementary school science (IPAS) content and to identify the benefits, challenges, and strategies used by teachers. The study used descriptive qualitative methods using observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that Outing Class increases student motivation, participation, and conceptual understanding, but faces challenges such as safety risks and managing student behavior. Teachers address these challenges through briefings, group division, intensive supervision, and parental involvement. Outing Class learning is effectively implemented within the Independent Curriculum when supported by thorough planning and sound risk management.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pencapaian literasi siswa pada rapor satuan pendidikan, penerapan, serta permasalahan literasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan hasil rapor satuan pendidikan serta pengamatan yang dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di di SDN 062 Kota Jambi. Dari penelitian ini dapat diketahui bahwa rapor pendidikan bermanfaat untuk mengetahui informasi kualitas satuan pendidikan serta untuk merencanakan perbaikan dalam perencanaan berbasis data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pencapaian literasi siswa yang dikategorikan sedang dengan capaian 66,67% peserta didik sudah mencapai kompetensi minimum. Adapun penerapan literasi yang dilakukan adalah melalui pembiasaan membaca 15 menit sebelum belajar, pemanfaatan pojok baca, kunjungan perpustakaan, pemanfaatan teknologi, kegiatan menceritakan kembali isi teks, pemberian motivasi, pelibatan orang tua, dan Melatih peserta didik untuk dapat menyampaikan pendapat, saran, penilaian, kesimpulan dan refleksi. Adapun permasalahan yang muncul diantaranya kurangnya variasi buku pada pojok baca, terdapat siswa yang belum lancar membaca, pemanfaatan perpustakaan yang kurang maksimal, kurangnya tenaga perpustakaan, kurangnya minat baca siswa, hilangnya fokus saat pembelajaran, kosa kata yang sulit dimengerti, kesulitan dalam mencari informasi yang spesifik dalam teks panjang karna kurangnya keterampilan scanning dan membaca cepat (skimming).

Abstract

This study was motivated by the low early reading skills of elementary school students, which were caused by mechanistic learning practices and the lack of engaging instructional media suitable for children’s developmental characteristics. This problem highlights the need for innovative learning approaches that emphasize visual experiences, motor activities, and contextual meaning comprehension. The purpose of this study was to develop a scrapbook media based on the Whole Word Method as an effort to enhance elementary students’ early reading competence. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects consisted of 25 first-grade students and one classroom teacher at SD Negeri 162/IV, Jambi City. The results indicate that the developed scrapbook media met the criteria of very high validity with a score of 91.4%, high practicality with a score of 93.7%, and effectiveness, with the average score increasing from 63.5 to 87.2 (N-Gain = 0.65, medium–high category). The scrapbook media proved capable of improving students’ early reading skills through contextual, visual, and enjoyable learning activities. This study recommends that elementary school teachers utilize visually creative media, such as scrapbooks, as an alternative for early-phase literacy instruction.

Abstract

This study examines how Pedagogical Content Knowledge (PCK), digital literacy, and instructional design skills synergistically influence perceived impactful learning among elementary teacher education students. A sequential explanatory mixed-methods design was employed: quantitative data from 222 students via surveys, followed by qualitative data from 15 students through focus group interviews. Quantitative results show PCK and instructional design skills collectively explain 70% of variance in impactful learning, with balanced and strong effects, while digital literacy functions as a supporting enabler rather than primary determinant. Qualitative findings identify six facilitating factors, eight barriers, and seven moderators that contextualize competency integration patterns. The study proposes three conceptual frameworks Synergistic Competency Framework, Grade Responsive Pedagogy Framework, and Pedagogy Primacy Framework integrated within the Subject-Specific Deep Learning Pedagogy (SSDLP) model, which positions PCK as the foundational layer for technology-enhanced instruction. Conclusions emphasize that impactful learning emerges when pedagogical foundations precede technological integration, with field experience and intrinsic motivation as critical catalysts. Teacher education programs should prioritize systematic PCK development, positioning digital literacy as complementary infrastructure.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi merupakan hak asasi setiap individu dan merupakan fondasi untuk belajar sepanjang hayat. Literasi adalah keterampilan dasar yang penting untuk perkembangan individu, dan pengenalan literasi sejak dini di sekolah dasar mencakup membaca, menulis, berpikir kritis, memahami informasi, serta berkomunikasi efektif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru penggerak dalam menumbuhkan kebiasaan gemar membaca melalui kegiatan literasi, mendeskripsikan peran dan kendala yang dialami guru dalam menumbuhkan kebiasaan gemar membaca peserta didik dan mendeskripsikan solusi yang didapat guru dalam menumbuhkan kebiasaan gemar membaca pada peserta didik di SD Negeri 110 Kota Jambi. Penulis mengangkat judul ini karena banyak peserta didik di SD Negeri 110 Kota Jambi yang masih memiliki minat membaca yang rendah dan Penulis semangat serta antusias dalam melakukan kegiatan literasi untuk menumbuhkan kebiasaan gemar membaca dalam diri setiap peserta didik di Sekolah Dasar Negeri 110 Kota Jambi. Oleh karena itu kebiasaan gemar membaca peserta didik di SD Negeri 110 Kota Jambi perlu ditumbuhkan lagi. Metode penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa: 1) Peran guru dalam menumbuhkan kebiasaan gemar membaca melalui kegiatan literasi 2) Kendala yang dialami guru dalam menumbuhkan kebiasaan gemar membaca melalui kegiatan literasi, 3) Sedangkan solusi yang dilakukan guru penggerak dalam menumbuhkan kebiasaan gemar membaca melalui kegiatan literasi sehingga tercapainya tujuan untuk menanamkan kebiasaan literasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari peserta didik. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peran guru penggerak sangat penting karena guru dapat menggunakan keterampilan yang dimiliki untuk menumbuhkan kebiasaan membaca melalui kegiatan literasi.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe limited technological literacy and teachers’ ability to integrate digital learning media remain major challenges in implementing the Merdeka Curriculum. Addressing this issue, this study introduced the development of E-COMATS (Ethnomathematics Comic Augmented Reality for Teaching and Learning) grounded in local cultural contexts, specifically Rumah Adat Kajang Leko. The objective was to train junior high school teachers to design interactive ethnomathematics-based media using Augmented Reality (AR) in order to foster deep learning and enhance digital competence. The program was conducted as community service in an onsite workshop at SMAN 8 Muaro Jambi, engaging lecturers, students, and partner teachers. A hands-on approach was applied, starting from the introduction of ethnomathematics concepts, E-COMATS design, AR feature integration, to the production of ready-to-use media. Findings revealed that more than 85% of teachers successfully produced AR-supported E-COMATS independently, while questionnaire results showed an increase in technological literacy with an average score of 4.35 out of 5. Participants perceived the developed media as relevant, innovative, and applicable in classroom practices. These results indicate that ethnomathematics-based E-COMATS training supported by AR is effective in improving teachers’ digital literacy and strengthening the integration of local culture into mathematics learning.Keywords: Augmented Reality, E-COMATS, Ethnomathematics, Junior High School Teachers, Technological Literacy ABSTRAKRendahnya literasi teknologi dan kemampuan guru dalam mengintegrasikan media pembelajaran digital masih menjadi tantangan utama dalam penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka. Untuk menjawab permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini mengembangkan E-COMATS (Ethnomathematics Comic Augmented Reality for Teaching and Learning) berbasis konteks budaya lokal, yaitu Rumah Adat Kajang Leko. Tujuan kegiatan adalah melatih guru SMP agar mampu merancang media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis ethnomathematics dengan dukungan teknologi Augmented Reality (AR), sehingga dapat mendorong pembelajaran mendalam sekaligus meningkatkan kompetensi digital guru. Program dilaksanakan sebagai kegiatan pengabdian melalui workshop luring di SMAN 8 Muaro Jambi dengan melibatkan dosen, mahasiswa, dan guru mitra. Metode yang digunakan adalah praktik langsung mulai dari pengenalan konsep ethnomathematics, perancangan E-COMATS, integrasi fitur AR, hingga menghasilkan media siap pakai. Hasil menunjukkan lebih dari 85% guru berhasil menyelesaikan produk E-COMATS berbantuan AR secara mandiri, sedangkan hasil kuesioner memperlihatkan peningkatan literasi teknologi dengan skor rata-rata 4,35 dari skala 5. Guru menilai media yang dikembangkan relevan, inovatif, dan aplikatif dalam pembelajaran. Abstract

Arts and Culture Education plays an important role in developing creativity, art appreciation, and environmental awareness of elementary school students. However, Arts and Culture learning on waste recycling material in grade V of SD Negeri 182/I Hutan Lindung is still dominated by conventional methods without the support of technology-based interactive learning media, so that students tend to be passive, less enthusiastic, and have difficulty in understanding the material and developing creativity. This study aims to develop a Wordwall-based educational game media on waste recycling material and to determine its level of validity and practicality in learning. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with a 4D model that includes the Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate stages. The research subjects were grade V students of SD Negeri 182/I Hutan Lindung. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and validation and practicality questionnaires given to material experts, media experts, linguists, teachers, and students. The results of the study showed that the developed media had a very good level of validity, namely 90% for material experts, 80% for media experts (valid), and 100% for linguists. The practicality test results were categorized as very practical, with an average score of 3.72 in the small group test and 3.76 in the large group test, and a teacher assessment of 5.0. Furthermore, the developed media was also proven to increase student engagement, activeness, and interest in learning Arts and Culture. Therefore, the Wordwall-based educational game media was declared valid, practical, and suitable for use in Arts and Culture learning using waste recycling materials.
