Abstract

This correlational quantitative research aims to testify students’ independency in lesson study based mathematic learning based on the parent’s economical status, environment, and learning facilities. Research population was 256 seventh grade students of State Junior High School 1 Salatiga Academic Year 2016/2017. 165 research sample students were determined by using Slovin formula (alpha 5%). Proportional random sampling technique was used by using a lottery. Documentation and questionnaire were used to collect the data and analyzed by using multiple linear regression. Research results are: students’ independency supported by parent’s economical status, environment, and learning facilities is 87.70% (significance 0.000); 20.01% (significance 0.008) parent’s economical status; 28,13% (significance 0.000) environment; and 39.56% (significance 0.000) facility supports students’ independency. Thus, good parent’s economical status, environment, and learning facilities increase students’ independency in lesson study based mathematic learning.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the essence of the life experiences of school principals in implementing the local wisdom values of Nggusu Waru to strengthen the quality of learning in elementary schools in Bima Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, following the Miles and Huberman interactive model. Data collection was carried out through triangulation of methods and sources, including semi-structured in-depth interviews with five principals, participatory observation, and documentation studies. Participants were selected through purposive techniques and snowball sampling. Data analysis uses a combination of thematic analysis and phenomenological processes, as well as the preparation of textual and structural descriptions. The findings reveal five main themes: (1) spirituality (nggolo) as an ethical foundation; (2) multidimensional intelligence (smart) in contextual decision-making; (3) courage and patience (courage) as the motor of gradual transformation; (4) consistency and social relationships (nggahi-groba-groba-raba) in building collaboration; and (5) adequacy (capability) in the management of creative resources. The five themes form a holistic and contextual Nggusu Waru-based leadership model. The theoretical implications enrich the educational leadership literature with an indigenous perspective, while the practical implications become a reference for leadership development programs and the implementation of the Independent Curriculum. Longitudinal and comparative research between regions is recommended to strengthen the model's empirical base

Abstract

Abstract

Natural and Social Sciences learning in elementary schools requires instructional materials that integrate scientific and social concepts while remaining relevant to students’ cultural environments. Existing materials frequently present local culture as supplementary information and provide limited guidance for interdisciplinary learning. This study aimed to develop the Pesona Jepara textbook, which integrates Jepara’s local culture into Grade V Natural and Social Sciences learning through a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics approach. The study employed a research and development design involving the analysis, design, and development stages of the ADDIE framework. Product feasibility was evaluated by three experts in elementary education, elementary science education, and elementary social studies education using a four-point validation instrument covering nine aspects. Quantitative data were analysed descriptively, while expert comments guided product refinement. The textbook obtained an overall mean score of 3.78 out of 4.00, equivalent to 94.53%, and was categorised as very feasible. Conceptual accuracy, STEAM implementation, and the integration of natural and social sciences received the highest percentages of 97.25%. Design practicality received 88.25% but remained within the very feasible category. Classroom trials are required to establish the product’s practicality and effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze school branding based on meaningful learning in promoting student well-being in elementary schools. The novelty of this research lies in its integration of meaningful learning, school branding, and student well-being within a single analytical framework. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design. The research subjects include the principal, 8 teachers, and 12 students of SDN Bakipandeyan 01 Sukoharjo. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted using an interactive model consisting of data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The research results show that school branding can be built through meaningful learning and contribute to realising student wellbeing in elementary schools. In-depth, contextual, and sustainable learning processes shape the school's image as a learning environment that supports the realisation of student wellbeing (student voice, sense of belonging, positive relationships, participation in school life, and feeling valued and respected). Thus, strengthening school branding is not only through image building but also grows from the learning experiences that students actually feel. Therefore, teachers and schools need to optimise the learning process to strengthen branding and student wellbeing.
