Abstract

The development of 21st century education demands an elementary school curriculum that is not only oriented to mastering materials, but also to developing critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and digital literacy competencies. These conditions encourage the need for curriculum transformation that is more adaptive, measurable, and centered on learners. This study aims to examine, analyze, and formulate an effective and contextual integrated curriculum development model through Outcome-Based Education, Active Learning, and Collaborative Learning approaches. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with PRISMA procedure through the stages of identification, screening, feasibility assessment, and Article selection. Data sources were obtained from the SINTA and Scopus databases using keywords related to outcome-based curriculum, Active Learning, Collaborative Learning, and basic education in the 2020-2025 range. From the gradual selection process, 257 articles that meet the inclusion criteria were obtained, then analyzed using content analysis and thematic synthesis. The results showed that the integration of the three approaches synergistically increases learning engagement, clarity of competence achievement, critical thinking ability, cooperation, and the quality of learning outcomes of learners, although the implementation is still influenced by teacher readiness, school management support, and availability of resources. The implication of this study confirms the importance of a holistic, flexible, and institutional support-based curriculum development model so that the transformation of learning in elementary schools is effective and sustainable.

Abstract

Students’ learning interest is an important factor in supporting engagement and achieving optimal learning outcomes in elementary education. In response to the increasing integration of digital technology in educational practices, teachers are expected to possess strong pedagogical competence and effectively utilize digital learning media. This study aimed to analyze the contribution of teacher pedagogical competence and digital learning media to the learning interest of fifth-grade students at SD Al Islam 2 Jamsaren Surakarta, both partially and simultaneously, from a TPACK perspective. This study employed a quantitative correlational design involving 86 students selected from a population of 110 through simple random sampling based on the Isaac and Michael sampling formula. Data were collected using closed-ended questionnaires with a Likert scale and analyzed through multiple linear regression after classical assumption testing. The results showed that teacher pedagogical competence and digital learning media significantly contributed to students’ learning interest, both partially and simultaneously (p < 0.05), with pedagogical competence demonstrating a stronger contribution. The regression model explained 52.9% of the variance in students’ learning interest (R² = 0.529). These findings indicate that strengthening pedagogical competence accompanied by the meaningful use of digital learning media can support the development of students’ learning interest and improve instructional quality in elementary education.

Abstract

Drawing on behavioral finance and self-regulation theories, this study investigates the impacts of mental accounting and self-control on the financial management behavior of university boarding students, while evaluating the moderating role of financial literacy. Utilizing a quantitative causal-associative design, data were gathered via online questionnaires using purposive sampling from 136 students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) who independently manage their finances. Data analysis was executed through Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The empirical results reveal that both mental accounting and self-control exert positive and significant direct effects on students’ financial behavior. Crucially, although financial literacy directly influences financial management, it fails to operate as a moderator across all pathways. The structural model demonstrates high explanatory power, accounting for 71.4% of the variance (R² = 0.714). These insights unearth a critical knowledge-to-action gap, indicating that under financial constraints, students’ decisions are governed by immediate self-regulation mechanisms and adaptive survival strategies rather than formal knowledge. Practically, institutional financial education programs must pivot from conventional theoretical curricula toward behavioral-based training and real-life simulations.

Abstract

Improving quality in Islamic primary schools requires a headmaster who can strategically interpret internal and external conditions. This paper aims to map strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in educational quality management at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Sidokerto Plupuh Sragen and to formulate feasible quality-improvement strategies centered on headmaster leadership. The method is a literature study using content analysis of recent scholarly works and relevant documents, synthesized through the SWOT framework and the TOWS matrix. The main findings indicate that internal strengths are generally driven by religious culture, organizational networks, and leadership potential to cultivate a quality culture, while weaknesses often relate to inconsistent internal quality assurance practices, uneven teacher competence development, and limited resources to sustain innovation. External opportunities include strengthening parent–community partnerships, expanding digital learning literacy, and improving program planning based on quality indicators; key threats stem from competition among similar institutions, rising service expectations, and the risk of innovation stagnation.

Abstract

Academic supervision plays a strategic role in ensuring effective curriculum implementation in primary schools. However, findings on its contribution remain fragmented across various educational contexts. This study aimed to systematically analyze the role of academic supervision in curriculum implementation at the primary school level. The research employed a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach based on the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. Literature was collected from Scopus, ERIC, Web of Science, SpringerLink, and Google Scholar using keywords related to academic supervision, instructional supervision, curriculum implementation, and elementary education. A total of 25 empirical studies published between 2022 and 2026 met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed through thematic analysis and narrative synthesis. The findings indicate that academic supervision significantly enhances teacher competence, strengthens instructional planning, and improves curriculum evaluation. Clinical, collaborative, transformational, coaching-based, and digital supervision emerged as the dominant models. The effectiveness of supervision is influenced by principal leadership, collaborative school culture, and policy support, although challenges such as time constraints, administrative burdens, and resistance to change remain prevalent. These findings highlight academic supervision as a critical strategy for improving curriculum implementation and educational quality in primary schools.

Abstract

Leadership plays a strategic role in an organization and can significantly influence its performance. The role of a school principal's leadership can have both positive and negative impacts on the school. A positive influence from the principal's leadership can bring about changes, especially in Muhammadiyah schools. School transformation can be achieved when the principal, as a leader, has the competence to formulate innovative visions, missions, goals, and strategies for the school. This type of leadership with such competence can be referred to as visionary leadership. This study selects MI Taskombang in Klaten, Indonesia, as the research site. It employs a qualitative approach, specifically a case study design. The case study design is chosen because MI Taskombang has undergone significant changes in recent years and has become a benchmark and favored school. The objectives of this research are as follows: (1) to describe the role of visionary leadership by the principal, (2) to explore the effective strategies employed by the principal in implementing school changes, (3) to examine the innovations implemented by the principal in bringing about effective school changes, (4) to understand the process of change in the school, (5) to identify the supporting factors for the principal in implementing changes, and (6) to identify the hindering factors faced by the principal. Abstract

The research aims to describe the progressive leadership of the Muhammadiyah high school heads so that they can dig potential and inspire change for the better. Progressive leadership in the context of education in the 4.0 era reflects an active effort to exploit the potential of schools and inspire change that supports the development of pupils and the learning environment in its entirety. These indicators include the use of technology, curriculum innovation and learning methods, teacher and student competence development, partnerships with institutions, empowerment of teachers and employees. The methods used in this research are qualitative, with literature/references and interviews with the head of the Muhammadiyah High School, then analyzed and presented descriptively. The result of the research is that the Muhammadiyah High School, as an educational institution, is claimed to have the leadership to be demonstrated to effectively uncover the potential and influence of transformation. One of the basic principles of sound leadership that is applied is known as progressive leadership. This form of leadership is dedicated to the eternal evolution and rejuvenation of adaptive leadership strategies, and preserves aspirations for the days to come. The findings of this research are attitudes or characteristics of the progressive leadership of the high school of Muhammadiyah which is abbreviated by the name BIMA SAKTI (Berkemajuan, Inovatif, Moderat, Adaptif - Simpati, Amanah, Kolaboratif, Transformatif, Ijtihadi).

Abstract

This study aims to explain the program implemented to improve students' literacy and numeracy skills at SMP Negeri 3 Gondangrejo. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data obtained came from the implementation of the program to improve literacy and numeracy skills. The data collection process was done through observation and documentation. The results show that literacy and numeracy skills are very important for students to master since primary and secondary school levels, so that they can more easily understand the subject matter and as preparation for continuing education to a higher level. The programs implemented to improve these skills include book swap party, literacy day, reading corner, mathventure, science art project, library revitalization program, school mading, reuse art, smart learning workshop, and socialization of the three big sins in education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Influence of TikTok use intensity on students' motivation and learning discipline at Muhammadiyah Purwodadi High School. This study uses a quantitative, correlational, associative Research design and involves 107 grade XI students of SMA Muhammadiyah Purwodadi as the sample, selected through a proportional random sampling technique from a total population of 145 students. Data collection is carried out by disseminating questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression, t-test, and determination coefficient (R2) with the help of SPSS 24. The study found that the intensity of TikTok use did not significantly affect students' learning motivation or learning discipline. The significance values for learning motivation and learning discipline were 0.693 and 0.346, respectively, the adjusted R-squared values were -0.008 for learning motivation and -0.001 for learning discipline, indicating almost no contribution of the variables. These findings are different from several previous studies that showed a significant Influence of TikTok on motivation and learning discipline.

Abstract

This study aims to conceptually analyze the integration of multicultural values based on character education in Social Sciences (IPS) learning in elementary schools. The focus of the study is directed at the mapping of essential multicultural values, their integration strategies in social studies learning, and their impact on the formation of students' character in the context of a multicultural Indonesian society. This research uses the library research method by examining various library sources in the form of academic textbooks, reputable national and international journal articles, curriculum documents, and relevant previous research results. The data analysis technique is carried out through systematic content analysis with the stages of identification, theme classification, interpretation, and conceptual synthesis of selected literature. The results show that multicultural values such as tolerance, empathy, equality, social justice, and respect for diversity have been substantially contained in the goals and scope of social studies learning, but are still implicit and have not been optimally integrated in learning practices. The integration of multicultural values based on character education through social studies has been proven to have the potential to strengthen the formation of students' social character, especially in the development of tolerant, democratic, and inclusive attitudes. Therefore, it is necessary to strengthen a holistic, participatory, and contextual social studies learning design so that social studies learning is not only oriented to cognitive aspects, but also to internalizing values and forming students' multicultural character
