Abstract

The quality of learning is expected to continue to improve, but supervision management continues to decline. This research aims to identify strategic factors involved in implementing supervision at the elementary school level. Quantitative methods were applied in this research using a census design, where 250 teachers were asked to fill out a questionnaire via the Google Form platform. However, because some teachers were unfamiliar with technology, only 213 teachers responded. The collected data was then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method. The findings from this research show that there is a direct influence between supervision planning, IT-based communication and implementation of supervision on supervision follow-up. while supervision planning and IT-based communication influence supervision follow-up through the implementation of supervision

Abstract

Drawing on behavioral finance and self-regulation theories, this study investigates the impacts of mental accounting and self-control on the financial management behavior of university boarding students, while evaluating the moderating role of financial literacy. Utilizing a quantitative causal-associative design, data were gathered via online questionnaires using purposive sampling from 136 students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS) who independently manage their finances. Data analysis was executed through Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The empirical results reveal that both mental accounting and self-control exert positive and significant direct effects on students’ financial behavior. Crucially, although financial literacy directly influences financial management, it fails to operate as a moderator across all pathways. The structural model demonstrates high explanatory power, accounting for 71.4% of the variance (R² = 0.714). These insights unearth a critical knowledge-to-action gap, indicating that under financial constraints, students’ decisions are governed by immediate self-regulation mechanisms and adaptive survival strategies rather than formal knowledge. Practically, institutional financial education programs must pivot from conventional theoretical curricula toward behavioral-based training and real-life simulations.

Abstract

Improving quality in Islamic primary schools requires a headmaster who can strategically interpret internal and external conditions. This paper aims to map strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in educational quality management at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Sidokerto Plupuh Sragen and to formulate feasible quality-improvement strategies centered on headmaster leadership. The method is a literature study using content analysis of recent scholarly works and relevant documents, synthesized through the SWOT framework and the TOWS matrix. The main findings indicate that internal strengths are generally driven by religious culture, organizational networks, and leadership potential to cultivate a quality culture, while weaknesses often relate to inconsistent internal quality assurance practices, uneven teacher competence development, and limited resources to sustain innovation. External opportunities include strengthening parent–community partnerships, expanding digital learning literacy, and improving program planning based on quality indicators; key threats stem from competition among similar institutions, rising service expectations, and the risk of innovation stagnation.

Abstract

Leadership plays a strategic role in an organization and can significantly influence its performance. The role of a school principal's leadership can have both positive and negative impacts on the school. A positive influence from the principal's leadership can bring about changes, especially in Muhammadiyah schools. School transformation can be achieved when the principal, as a leader, has the competence to formulate innovative visions, missions, goals, and strategies for the school. This type of leadership with such competence can be referred to as visionary leadership. This study selects MI Taskombang in Klaten, Indonesia, as the research site. It employs a qualitative approach, specifically a case study design. The case study design is chosen because MI Taskombang has undergone significant changes in recent years and has become a benchmark and favored school. The objectives of this research are as follows: (1) to describe the role of visionary leadership by the principal, (2) to explore the effective strategies employed by the principal in implementing school changes, (3) to examine the innovations implemented by the principal in bringing about effective school changes, (4) to understand the process of change in the school, (5) to identify the supporting factors for the principal in implementing changes, and (6) to identify the hindering factors faced by the principal. Keywords: Innovative Change, Principal, Visionary Leadership

Abstract

The TABANA program was developed in response to the increasing prevalence of negative behaviors and bullying incidents in partner preschool and primary schools, which previously lacked a structured behavior management system. The program aims to foster a culture of positive behavior through a positive discipline approach supported by visual reinforcement strategies, including kindness jars, appreciation tokens, behavioral indicators, and data-based behavioral recapitulation. Program activities were conducted through socialization sessions, focus group discussions, teacher training, classroom implementation, mentoring, evaluation, and sustainability planning. Data were collected through non-verbal observations, teacher interviews, activity documentation, and weekly and monthly behavioral records, and subsequently analyzed using a descriptive–comparative approach to examine changes before and after program implementation. The findings indicate that more than 70% of students demonstrated improvements in positive behavior, particularly in terms of discipline, honesty, cooperation, and task completion at the primary school level. At the kindergarten level, consistent improvements were observed in queuing behavior, tidying up learning materials, and smiling, although behaviors related to sharing and self-regulation still require further reinforcement. The program also contributed to a reduction in negative behaviors, including mild forms of peer-to-peer bullying, and enhanced teachers’ capacity to manage classrooms and systematically evaluate student behavior. Overall, the TABANA program supports the creation of a more positive learning environment and establishes a sustainable foundation for character development in partner schools.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the existence of KB/TK Ummahat Aisyiyah Cemani through the implementation of an integrated branding and superior governance strategy. The main problems of partners include weak school branding, limited promotion, conventional governance, and suboptimal community involvement and partnerships. The methods used are participatory, educational, and applicative approaches through the stages of socialization, training and workshops, mentoring, partnership collaboration, and monitoring and evaluation. The programs carried out include parenting activities, coloring competitions and trial classes, grand recitations and social activities, social media development, school governance assistance, and procurement of promotional media. The results of the activity showed an increase in school visibility, parental and community involvement, as well as improvements in a more professional and systematic governance system. The use of social media has also proven effective in expanding the reach of promotion and building a positive image of the institution. In addition, collaboration with various stakeholders strengthens the network's network and the sustainability of the program. Thus, the superior branding and governance strategies implemented are able to increase the existence and competitiveness of KB/TK Ummahat Aisyiyah Cemani. This service model can be a reference for other Early Childhood Education institutions in facing competitive challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how school principals innovate in their leadership to improve the quality of Islamic education management in formal institutions. A qualitative research method was employed. Data were collected through a literature review, drawing from various sources, contexts, and approaches. The findings indicate that principals who effectively enhance the quality management of education are those who recognize themselves as leaders and are capable of managing the human resources within their institutions—such as teaching staff, students, and the entire academic community. Effective management of infrastructure and facilities in formal educational institutions is also essential. The study concludes that the role of leadership in formal educational institutions is crucial for improving Islamic education management. A leader must simultaneously fulfill multiple roles: as a leader, manager, supervisor, administrator, innovator, educator, and motivator.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the transformation of the learning process during the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in third-grade students at Cipta Muda Public Elementary School, Buay Madang District, East OKU Regency. The focus of the study includes changes in learning approaches, the roles of teachers and students, and the obstacles and strategies implemented during the curriculum adaptation process. The study used a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that teachers have begun implementing project-based learning and differentiated learning based on student characteristics. The teacher's role has shifted from instructor to learning facilitator, while students become more active and independent. However, the implementation of the Independent Curriculum still faces obstacles, particularly in teacher readiness to develop independent learning modules and limited supporting facilities. This study concludes that the learning transformation towards the Independent Curriculum has progressed progressively, but requires ongoing mentoring, teacher training, and institutional support for optimal implementation.
