Abstract

This study proposes a control method for servo motor position using a proportional-integral-derivative (PID) controller with particle swarm optimization (PSO). We use an AX-12 servo motor that is commonly used for robotic manipulator applications. The angular position of the servo motor will be controlled using the PID control method with PSO as a controller gain optimizer. Firstly, the transfer function model of the servo motor is generated using open-loop model identification. Then, the integral error of the closed-loop system is used as PSO input in producing PID controller gain. As an objective function of the PSO algorithm, the integral time absolute error (ITAE) index performance is used. The proposed controller was tested and compared with PID with the Ziegler-Nichols (ZN) method. We also conduct the hardware experiment using Arduino Uno as a microcontroller using one AX-12 servo motor on the base joint of the manipulator robot. Based on the simulation result, the PID-PSO controller can achieve the best control response performance if compared to PID-ZN with a rise time is less than 0.5 s, a settling time of fewer than 8 s, and an overshoot under 1.2%. The effectiveness of the proposed PID-PSO controller is also validated by hardware experimental results.

Abstract

Motile Aeromonas Septicemia (MAS) disease caused by Aeromonas hydrophila is a common pathogen that attacks freshwater fish commodities, including triploid as the new strain of striped catfish. This study aimed to test the resistance of triploid striped catfish to MAS infection before being released to farmers as a new commodity to increase national striped catfish production. The test was carried out for two months at the Sukamandi Fish Breeding Research Institute, Subang by injecting A. hydrophila into triploid and diploid striped catfish. The challenge test was carried out by injecting the cultured A. hydrophila with a density of 107 cfu.mL-1 as much as 0.1 mL.ind-1 at fish intramuscularly in all treatments, while in the Control (-) treatment, 0.1 mL of PBS solution was injected.tail-1. The test striped catfish used for each treatment were 10 individuals measuring 9.23 – 9.65 cm, and weighing 7.1 – 9.23 g. Survival parameter data and blood description were analyzed quantitatively using Microsoft Excel 2010 and SPSS version 16.0 software with analysis of variance (ANOVA) at a 95% confidence interval. The results of re-characterization with biochemical tests showed that A. hydrophila were gram-negative, oxidase and catalase positive, motile, could fermentatively convert sugar, and could grow in blood media. The survival of triploid striped catfish after the test was 95%, total erythrocytes on day 7, and total leukocytes on the first day were significantly different from diploid striped catfish. Thus, it can be concluded that striped triploid striped catfish are more resistant to infection with A. hydrophila than diploid.

Abstract

The defendant has the right to present a defense, and to guarantee that the defendants must understand the facts that arise during trials. The Indonesian Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP), yet still superficial, does regulate the mechanism for appointing an interpreter. This study aims to elaborate: first, the urgency of an interpreter during trial; and second, how the law regulates the existence of an interpreter assistance for defendants. This research uses a normative juridical method. Based on the problem mentioned above, the conclusion is as follows: First, the appointment of an interpreter aims to ensure equality between the defendant and the prosecutor. Those conditions will lead to a verdict based on substantive truth by the judge. Second, the judge must use an official decree to appoint an interpreter, granting them legal authority during the trial. Before the interpreter translates any facts in the trial, they must first take an oath or pledge. An interpreter who provides intentionally false translations will be charged under Article 242 of the Criminal Code. Additionally, an interpreter who has been appointed but fails to fulfill their duties can be penalized under Article 224 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code, and if the interpreter unlawfully fails to appear, they can be penalized under Article 522 of the Criminal Code. This study recommends that future reforms of the Criminal Procedure Code explicitly state that judges should appoint interpreters through official decrees and interpreters should be certified and integrated into the criminal justice system.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas antioksidan dan perubahan metabolit sekunder mayor temulawak (C. xanthorrhiza) pada umur rimpang yang berbeda. Aktivitas antioksidan ditentukan menggunakan tiga metode yaitu DPPH (1,1-difenil-1-pikrilhidrazil), FRAP (ferric reducing antioxidant power), dan CUPRAC (cupric ion reducing antioxidant capacity), sedangkan kadar kurkuminoid dan xantorizol ditentukan dengan metode KCKT. Hasil pengukuran aktivitas antioksidan, kadar kurkuminoid dan xantorizol menunjukkan semakin meningkat dengan bertambahnya umur rimpang temulawak. Analisis korelasi antara aktivitas antioksidan dan kadar kurkuminoid serta xantorizoldiperoleh bahwa kapasitas antioksidan yang diukur dengan metode DPPH dan FRAP mempunyai korelasi positif dengan nilai sebesar 0.757 r 0.996 dan 0.522 r 0.976 berturut-turut, sedangkan metode CUPRAC berkorelasi tinggi dengan jumlah rendemen (r = 0.986). Analisis spektrum IR pada sampel rimpang temulawak memberikan profil yang identik dengan perbedaan hanya pada nilai absorbansnya. Rimpang temulawak dengan umur 9 bulan memiliki detail spektrum IR yang lebih jelas dan nilai absorbans yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan umur rimpang 7 dan 8 bulan. Evaluasi yang dilakukan dapat memberikan informasi mengenai mutu rimpang temulawak berdasarkan masa tanamnya.

Abstract

Puji dan syukur kami ucapkan kepada Tuhan YME atas rahmat dan hidayahnya, sehingga Pusat Studi Biofarmaka LPPM IPB dapat menerbitkan Jurnal Jamu Indonesia Volume 1 No 2 sebagai media diseminasi penelitian terkait jamu Indonesia. Jurnal ini nantinya diharapkan dapat menambah informasi menyeluruh tentang jamu dari kegiatan hulu hingga hilirnya.  Jamu merupakan warisan budaya Indonesia dan telah digunakan sejak berabad abad yang lalu. Jamu merupakan istilah lain dari obat herbal yang terbuat dari tumbuhan obat segar atau kering di Indonesia untuk kesehatan dan kecantikan. Penggunaannya saat ini menunjukkan kecenderungan yang semakin meningkat dan tren ini juga tampak dalam skala global. Lebih jauh, Sistem Kesehatan Nasional Indonesia menyatakan bahwa pengembangan dan peningkatan obat tradisional dalam hal ini jamu ditujukan agar diperoleh obat tradisional yang bermutu tinggi, aman, memiliki khasiat nyata yang teruji secara ilmiah dan dimanfaatkan secara luas, baik untuk pengobatan sendiri oleh masyarakat maupun digunakan dalam pelayanan kesehatan formal. Tiga isu kunci yaitu kualitas, keamanan dan khasiat untuk pengembangan produk jamu hanya dapat dicapai apabila prioritas diberikan sejak awal proses pengembangannya. Dalam beberapa tahun terakhir, isu kualitas, keamanan dan khasiat telah menjadi fokus perhatian para ilmuwan yang bekerja dalam keilmuan terkait. Seiring dengan banyaknya penelitian-penelitian pengembangan Jamu ini, hasil kajian yang didapatkan tentunya akan memerlukan wadah untuk diseminasi agar hasil kajian tersebut dapat diakses oleh para pihak yang memerlukan. Jurnal Jamu Indonesia dapat menjadi fasilitas bagi para peneliti dan ilmuwan untuk memudahkan pendistribusian informasi ilmu pengetahuan mengenai jamu melalui tulisan-tulisan yang dapat dipublikasi. Abstract

Xantorizol merupakan senyawa penciri utama temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza). Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan metode ekstraksi dan pemisahan optimum untuk isolasi xantorizol dari rimpang temulawak. Maserasi dan sokletasi digunakan untuk mengekstraksi xantorizol dengan pelarut metanol, dietil eter, dan n-heksana. Pemisahan dilakukan dengan kromatografi kolom dan kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT) preparatif dan hasil pemisahan dikarakterisasi berdasarkan spektrum inframerah dan kromatografi gas-spektrum massa (KG-SM), sementara persentase kemurniannya ditentukan dengan kromatografi cair kinerja tinggi. Ekstrak n-heksana dari teknik maserasi memiliki kandungan xantorizol lebih tinggi dibanding ekstrak lainnya yaitu sebesar 168 mg/g sampel. Fraksi ke-4 hasil pemisahan kolom terhadap ekstrak n-heksana memberikan dua spot pada KLT dengan Rf 0.54 dan 0.68, spot dengan Rf 0.54 diduga merupakan xantorizol (dikonfirmasi dengan KG-SM). Pemurnian lebih lanjut dengan KLT preparatif terhadap fraksi ke-4 menghasilkan xantorizol dengan rendemen sebesar 0.016 % berdasar bobot sampel dan tingkat kemurnian sebesar 87.40 %.

Abstract

Profil sidik jari kromatografi lapis tipis (KLT) dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kendali mutu bahan baku maupun produk tumbuhan obat. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan metode analisis sidik jari rimpang temu mangga (Curcuma mangga) untuk kendali mutunya. Rimpang kering temu mangga diekstraksi menggunakan metanol dan dianalisis sidik jari KLT. Kloroform:etil asetat (8.5:1.5) merupakan fase gerak optimum yang memisahkan 11 pita dari rimpang temu mangga dengan keterpisahan yang baik dan memiliki pita khas biru tua (Rf 0.36). Demetoksikurkumin terdeteksi pada rimpang temu mangga dengan warna jingga kecoklatan pada UV 366 nm (Rf 0.48) setelah diderivatisasi dengan pereaksi asam sulfat 10%. Pengujian spesifitas terhadap rimpang lain dalam satu genus, rimpang temu mangga menunjukan pola yang berbeda. Validasi metode analisis sidik jari KLT memenuhi kriteria keberterimaan, sehingga metode ini dapat digunakan untuk kendali mutu rimpang temu mangga.

Abstract

Orthosiphon aristatus, known as kumis kucing in Indonesia, has some biological activity, i.e., as an anti-inflammatory, fever, rheumatism, diabetes, and kidney stone. This plant is also known for being rich in phenolic compounds such as flavonoids. In this study, we would like to compare the antioxidant activity, total phenolics, and flavonoid content from the stems and leaves of Orthosiphon aristatus extracted with water and ethanol by maceration. The yield stem and leaves of the water extract are 12.98-31.28%, and ethanol extract 3.58 - 9.82% (dry basis). The stem and leaves water extract contains a phenolic of 7.82-26.43 (mg GAE/g) and ethanol extract of 2.27-7.84 (mg GAE/g). Water extract Orthosiphon aristatus flavonoid content is 1.23-2.86 (mg EK/g), and ethanol extract is 1.09-3.95 (mg EK/g). The antioxidant activity of ethanol (IC50), extract from leaves was 123.91 (µg/mL) and from stems was 125.50 (µg/mL), while IC50 of water extract from leaves was 114.70 (µg/mL) and from stems was 125.03 (µg/mL). The correlation test result of active compounds using linear regression is phenolic compounds with antioxidants stronger than flavonoids. The qualitative thin-layer chromatography fingerprint analysis showed that ethanol and water extract contained natural sinensetin compounds.

Abstract

Java Tea (Orthosiphon aristatus) is a common herbal medicinal plant that functions as a health treatment and treats various diseases. The high demand for Java Tea causes high prices and a decrease in the amount of medicinal plant raw materials, causing various quality control problems such as the content of various bioactive components and adulteration from babadotan and tekelan. So far, the detection of adulteration has been carried out by various analyzes, including chemical analysis and statistical methods to process data. The data used is of high dimension with a very high-density level, thus causing difficulties in classification. The mixed data of Orthosiphon aristatus consists of 1201 features with a total sample of 216. This study uses a Random Forest (RF) method with a total of 100 trees, and the RF method is combined with the Recursive Feature Elimination (RFE) method. In the RF and RFE that can be produced, the optimum value for the number of features is 244. The experimental evaluation results revealed that the proposed method could achieve a high accuracy of 81.82% in identifying Orthosiphon aristatus.

Abstract

The slow administrative process, lack of public participation in decision-making, and low transparency and accountability in public financial management are the main problems in public services in Sungai Limau Village, Pusako District, Siak Regency. One of the efforts to improve the service system that still faces various challenges is through the implementation of good governance. This study aims to examine the implementation of good governance in public services in Sungai Limau Village, Pusako District, Siak Regency. This study uses the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) research method. The data collection method in this study involves a review of literature. After the data is collected, the analysis is carried out by filtering relevant data, presenting the data, and finally making conclusions. The findings of the study indicate that the application of good governance principles can accelerate public services at the village level, as seen in Sungai Limau Village, Pusako District, Siak Regency. Therefore, the recommendation that can be taken from this finding is the importance of implementing good governance principles consistently to enhance the standard of public services and boost community engagement and satisfaction.
