Abstract

This study aims to determine validity of the assessment instrument data, technology, and human literacy in physics learning. The research method uses research and development (RnD) with modified 4-D model until development stage. Instrument of validation was assessed by 6 validators. The instrument was tested by 36 students of class X SMK Texmaco Semarang. The form of instruments is multiple choice test with 21 item to measure the cognitive domain. Data analysis in this research are tests of content validity, reliability, internal consistency, discrimination power, and level of difficulty. The results of the content validity by using Aiken’s coefficient get an average score 0.84 with a valid category at significance level of 0.05. Cronbach’s Alpha and ICC values from reliability test are 0.77 and 0.806 with reliable categories. The results of internal consistency showed that 80.95% items had a good internal consistency. There are 4 items with category not used from the discrimination power test. Furthermore from the results of the difficulty level, 7 items are easy, 13 items are medium, and 1 item is difficult. Based on results of the instrument analysis can be concluded that the instrument developed were valid and reliabel then can be used to measure ability of data, technology, and humans literacy in physics learning.

Abstract

Hasil survei American Institute of Physics (Heuvelen, 2002) menunjukkan tiga kompetensi yang paling sering digunakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, yaitu kompetensi memecahakan masalah, bekerjasama dalam tim, dan berkomunikasi, yang kemudian dalam penelitian ini disebut trisula kompetensi. Untuk mengembangkan trisula kompetensi melalui jalur pendidikan, terlebih dahulu perlu diidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya, terutama dalam konteks pembelajaran sains. Variabel kemampuan berpikir, pemahaman konsep, dan trisula kompetensi telah diungkap dengan sampel mahasiswa calon guru bidang sains. Hasil analisis data dari ketiga variabel tersebut menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi positif antara kemampuan berpikir dan trisula kompetensi, demikian juga pemahaman konsep dan trisula kompetensi, walaupun korelasinya lebih rendah. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (pada α=0,01) antara trisula kompetensi pada kelompok mahasiswa yang tingkat berpikirnya empirical inductive dan transisi, sedangkan antara yang kemampuan berpikirnya hypothetical inductive dan transisi serta antara hypothetical inductive dan empirical inductive tidak berbeda secara sigifikan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku suplemen IPA terpadu, mengetahui kevalidan, kepraktisan dan kefektifan buku suplemen IPA terpadu dengan tema Pendengaran. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan Research and development. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku suplemen IPA terpadu dengan tema pendengaran dinyatakan valid dengan hasil validasi pakar rata-rata sebesar 3,40. Berdasarkan hasil tanggapan siswa mengenai kepraktisan buku suplemen pada uji coba skala kecil dan skala besar buku suplemen IPA terpadu termasuk dalam kriteria praktis dengan sedikit revisi. Hasil belajar kelas VIII D SMP Ya BAKKI 1 Kesugihan dari 30 siswa didapatkan ketuntasan klasikal siswa sebesar 97% dengan hasil rata-rata nilai akhir siswa adalah 75 serta rata-rata hasil N-Gain adalah 0,34 yang menunjukkan bahwa buku suplemen efektif dijadikan sebagai pendamping buku teks utama. Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini adalah buku suplemen yang dikembangkan efektif dan praktis dijadikan sebagai pendamping buku teks utama. Buku suplemen yang dikembangkan akan lebih sempurna jika beberapa saran yang ada dapat diperbaiki lebih lanjut dan penelitian ini hendaknya dapat diteruskan oleh peneliti selanjutnya dengan kelas, sekolah, dan materi yang berbeda. This study aims to determine the validity, practicability and effectiveness of integrated supplement books with the theme of Hearing. The research was carried out by Research and development approach. The results showed that the integrated science supplement books with themes hearing declared invalid by the results of expert validation by an average of 3.40. Based on the results of student responses regarding the practicality of the book supplements on a small scale trial and a large scale integrated science book supplements are included in the practical criteria with slight revisions. Learning outcomes junior class VIII D Ya BAKKI 1 Kesugihan of 30 students obtained classical completeness students by 97% with an average yield of final grades of students is 75 and the average results of N-Gain is 0.34 which indicates that the book be used as an effective supplement The main textbook companion. The conclusion of this study is an effective supplement guide developed and practically used as a companion to the main textbook. Book supplements are developed to be more perfect if there are some suggestions that can be further improved and this research should be continued by further research with classroom, school, and different materials.

Abstract

Hasil observasi awal di SMP Negeri 1 Donorojo Jepara menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran IPA di sekolah belum terpadu, yakni masih terpisah antara fisika, kimia, dan biologi. Kemampuan siswa tahun ajaran 2012/2013 pada pembelajaran IPA kurang, hal ini terlihat 124 siswa dari 182 siswa yang mendapatkan nilai kurang dari KKM, sebesar 65. Kepedulian siswa terhadap lingkungan juga masih rendah, tampak sampah disekitar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah kelayakan dan menunjukkan pengaruh buku cerita IPA Terpadu yang dikembangkan terhadap hasil belajar dan karakter peduli lingkungannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian dan pengembangan. Hasil penelitian yang telah disimpulkan, kelayakan buku cerita sesuai dengan kelayakan yang ditetapkan BSNP didapatkan kategori sangat layak, respon siswa dan guru mendapatkan kriteria sangat baik, hasil keterbacaan berada pada kategori sangat layak, hasil belajar siswa dengan menggunakan uji t diperoleh bahwa harga t sebesar 7,503 dengan persentase ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 93,33%, karakter peduli lingkungan dengan melakukan perhitungan menggunakan rumus n gain didapatkan nilai n gain sebesar 0,44 (sedang) dengan kriteria mulai berkembang. The beginning observations to the grade science teacher of garde VII at SMP Negeri 1 Donorojo Jepara show that learning science in schools has not been integrated, means it is still separated between physics, chemistry, and biology. Students’ ability in the academic 2012/2013 islaw, it can be seen from the fact that 124 from 182 students’ got score less than the minimum criterian, that is 65. The students’ less of attention to the environment where there are still many rubbish. The purpose of this study is know the properness and the effect of Integrated Sciences story book include character education that the care of developing environment. This study uses the research and development. The results of studies that have concluded, that obtained feasibility story book set in accordance with the eligibility category BSNP obtained a very decent, the questionnaire students’ and teachers get a very good criterion, the legibility show that get a very good criterion, and the analysis of students’ learning reached by using t-test shows that the price of t 7.503 with a percentage of 93.33% classical completeness, characters care about the environment by calculating the n gain obtained value of 0.44 (moderate) to begin developing criteria.

Abstract

Hasil observasi awal di SMP Negeri 2 Kendal menunjukkan bahwa penilaian kompetensi psikomotorik belum sepenuhnya dikembangkan guru dalam pembelajaran IPA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik, kelayakan, kepraktisan, dan hasil kinerja siswa setelah menggunakan instrumen performance assessment berpendekatan scientific yang dikembangkan pada tema Kalor dan Perpindahannya. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Research and Development (R&D). Prosedur penelitian meliputi identifikasi potensi dan masalah, perencanaan, desain instrumen penilaian, validasi desain, revisi desain, uji coba skala terbatas, revisi instrumen penilaian 1, uji coba pemakaian, revisi instrumen penilaian 2, dan produk final. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa instrumen performance assessment yang dikembangkan bercirikan kegiatan ilmiah (scientific), yang terdiri atas kegiatan mengamati, menanya, mencoba, menalar, dan mengomunikasikan. Instrumen performance assessment berpendekatan scientific dinyatakan sangat layak dengan rerata persentase skor oleh validator substansi sebesar 95,19% dan validator bahasa sebesar 91,23%. Kepraktisan penggunaan instrumen performance assessment berpendekatan scientific pada tema Kalor dan Perpindahannya diperoleh hasil persentase skor sebesar 96,88% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Hasil analisis data juga menunjukkan bahwa instrumen performance assessment yang dikembangkan sudah reliabel, dengan koefisien reliabilitas rata-rata rating dari tiga orang rater sebesar 0,837 dan koefisien reliabilitas rata-rata rating bagi setiap raternya sebesar 0,659. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa 81,25% siswa sangat terampil dalam kegiatan praktikum, sedangkan 18,75% sisanya dalam kriteria terampil. The  result of initial observation  on SMPN 2 Kendal shows that assessment on  psychomotor competence have not been fully developed by the teacher in the Natural Science learning process. This researches to find out the characteristics, feasibility, practicability and also students performance after using performance assessment instrument using scientific approach that is developed on the Heat and its Movements theme. This research used Research and Development (R&D) method. The procedures include problems and potential identification, planning, designing instrument for assessment, design validation, design revision, limited-scale trial, revisions of assessment instrument 1, application trial, revision of assessment instrument 2, and the final product. Result of the research shows that performance assessment instrument developed has characteristics as scientific activity that consists of observing activity, questioning, experimenting, associating, and communicating. Performance assessment instrument using scientific approach is stated very decent with the mean percentage substance validator score of 95.19% and language validator of 91.23%. Practicability of using this instrument, performance assessment instrument using scientific approach on the Heat and Its Movements theme, obtained the result percentage score of 96.88% with very well criteria. The data analysis results indicate that performance assessment instrument developed is already reliable, with coefficient of reliability in average rating of the three raters of 0.837 and coefficient of reliability in average rating for each rater of 0.659. The research results also indicate that 81.25% of students is highly skilled in lab work activity, while the rest, 18.75%, is included in skilled criteria.

Abstract

Guru dituntut untuk mengembangkan keprofesiannya, baik dalam keahlina di bidangnnya ataupun melakukan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dan penulisan karya ilmiah.  Kenyataannya masih banyak guru yang mengalami kendala dalam melakukan PTK dan penulisan karya ilmiah. Hal ini tentunya berdampak pada kenaikan pangkat. Oleh sebab itu perlu dilakukan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat, salah satunya program kemitraan masyarakat (PKM) bagi guru melalui MGMP. Tujuan dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah menyelenggarakan pelatihan bagi guru melalui kegiatan MGMP dengan model Action Learning berbasis fasilitasi. Tujuan khususnya adalah membantu guru dalam meningkatkan kemampuan melakukan PTK dan menulis karya ilmiah. Metode pemecahan masalah mitra, dengan  menyelenggarakan pelatihan terprogram. Desain metode/model pemecahannya Action Learning berbasis fasilitasi, dengan desain workshop full-day introductory. Sebelum pelaksanaan pelatihan, dilakukan Focus Group Discussion (FGD) dengan kepala sekolah dan ketua MGMP. Hasil FGD digunakan untuk mendesain skenario pelatihan untuk setiap kegiatan, dan materi pelatihan.  Hasil PKM menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan guru dalam melaksanakan PTK dan penulisan karya ilmiah telah meningkat. Hal ini tampak dari jumlah artikel yang dapat ditulis oleh guru peserta PKM. Sebanyak 17 artikel dan 20 proposal PTK diperoleh dari kegiatan PKM ini.Teachers are required to develop their professionalism, both in skills in their fields or conducting classroom action research (CAR) and writing scientific papers. In fact, there are still many teachers who experience problems in conducting CAR and writing scientific papers. This of course has an impact on promotion. Therefore it is necessary to carry out community service activities, one of which is the community partnership program (PKM) for teachers through MGMP. The purpose of this PKM activity is to provide training for teachers through MGMP activities with a facilitation-based Action Learning model. Its specific purpose is to help teachers improve their ability to do CAR and write scientific papers. Partner problem solving method, by conducting programmed training. The design of the solution method / model of facilitation-based Action Learning, with a full-day introductory workshop design. Prior to the implementation of the training, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted with the school principal and the head of the MGMP. The results of the FGDs were used to design training scenarios for each activity, and training materials. PKM results show that the ability of teachers to carry out CAR and writing scientific papers has increased. This can be seen from the number of articles that can be written by PKM participating teachers. A total of 17 articles and 20 PTK proposals were obtained from this PKM activity

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep pada siswa merupakan korban dari pembelajaran fisika yang hanya menuntut siswa untuk menghafal rumus matematis. Pembelajaran seperti itu berujung pada kasus miskonsepsi materi fisika yang masih banyak menjangkit siswa. Salah satu materi fisika yaitu gerak lurus memiliki banyak persamaan matematis yang digunakan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membangun ketrampilan berpikir kritis siswa melalui penggunaan peta konsep sehingga dapat mereduksi miskonsepsi materi gerak lurus. Rancangan penelitian menggunakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang terdiri dari 2 siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari langkah: perencanaan, implementasi, evaluasi dan refleksi yang mengadopsi model spiral dari Kemmis dan MC Taggart. Pada saat pelaksanaan pembelajaran, siswa diberikan peta konsep yang berkaitan dengan konsep yang harus dikuasai. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut 1) terjadi peningkatkan ketrampilan berpikir kritis pada siswa kelas X SMA melalui pembelajaran menggunakan Peta Konsep dengan nilai rata-rata tes essai keterampilan berpikir kritis kelas setelah CAR 85,2 dan ketuntasan berdasarkan indikator sebesar 88,2%. 2) Terjadi reduksi miskonsepsi materi Gerak Lurus pada siswa kelas X SMA melalui pembelajaran menggunakan Peta Konsep ditunjukan oleh nilai rata-rata tes essai setelah CAR sebesar 82,5.

Abstract

According the ideas of some experts, Literacy of Science and creativity in some areas are still relatively low. This study aims to determine the application of the MIKiR approach in improving Literacy of Science and student creativity, and is there a relationship between Literacy of Science and creativity.The subjects in this study were class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII C as the control class. The instruments used were tests, questionnaires, and observations. The analysis technique used is the N-gain test, t test, scale test, and simple linear regression test.The results of the N-gain pretest-posttest test were in the medium category and with a low category for Literacy of Science and with a moderate category, and with a low category for creativity. The t-test results of the right-hand value of N-gain literas in science and creativity obtained that t (count)> t (table). The results of the science and creativity literacy questionnaire scale in the experimental class were 51.50 % and 55.30% while the control class was and 50.20%. The results of a simple linear regression test obtained the equation Y = 44.91 + 0.339 X with r (count)> r (table). In the process, learning with the MIKiR approach obtained project values ​​82.81; communication 78.83; and report 69.00. From the four analysis techniques used it can be concluded that the experimental class is better than the control class, but it needs to be given direction to students in the process of making reports.

Abstract

The implement of Conference 3-2-1 (K 3-2-1) guidance model with Video-stimulated recall (VSR) is being done as a way to increase educator quality, which is the candidate of physics teachers when doing teaching practice. Teaching education through pre-service training in LPTK gives provisions to get mastering and delivering learning materials well to students. This research has a purpose to get information about the implementation of K 3-2-1 guidance model with VSR in increasing physics teachers’ pedagogical and professional competence. This research is single subject research patterned action research. The approach in this research is qualitative research. The implementation of K 3-2-1 guidance model includes of explanation of three aspects of excesses, two aspects of weaknesses, and one constructive advice about teacher candidates’ teaching practice. Result of this research shows that there is increased pedagogic and profesional competences after being given K 3-2-1 guidance with VSR. The practitioner shows very positive respond towards the implementation of K 3-2-1 guidance model with VSR, by score percentage 91,18%. The researcher concluded that K 3-2-1 guidance model with VSR is able to increase physics teacher candidates pedagogical and professional competence as well as teacher candidates feel very helped after K 3-2-1 guidance with VSR was applied.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the characteristics and to determine the validity of digital teaching materials for circular motion by scratch based on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The research method used is Research and Development (R&D). The subject of this research is a judgement expert (validator). The development of teaching materials is carried out in stages according to the 4D steps (define, design, development, and dissemination). The results showed that (1) the developed teaching materials were presented in the form of e-teaching materials and had STEM content characteristics which included science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. The engineering aspect is represented by a circular motion simulation created using the scratch application. This simulation program aims to visualize the concept of circular motion material that students can work on independently. (2) Digital teaching materials for circular motion by scratch based on were declared valid based on the validity of Aiken’s V.
