Abstract

This research was motivated by the low narrative writing skills of fifth-grade students at SDN 56/I Aro Village. Students experienced difficulty developing ideas, constructing a storyline, and writing coherently. This study aimed to improve narrative writing skills through the Think Talk Write learning model, supported by a series of pictures. The study used the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method, implemented in two cycles, each encompassing planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Sixteen students participated in the study. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, and then analyzed descriptively. The results showed an improvement in students' writing skills in each cycle. In the pre-action phase, the average student achievement was 30%. After the implementation of the action in Cycle I, the results increased to 43% in the first meeting and 56% in the second meeting. In Cycle II, the results increased again to 65% in the first meeting and reached 85% in the second meeting, categorized as good. This improvement occurred because the Think Talk Write model encouraged students to think, discuss, and write systematically, while the series of pictures helped students understand the sequence of events and develop story ideas. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Think Talk Write learning model assisted by a series of picture media is effective in improving the narrative writing skills of fifth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of using the "Marbel Belajar Berhitung" application on the mathematical intelligence of children aged 5-6 years. The primary issue addressed is the low basic numeracy skills of children, often resulting from the dominance of conventional and non-interactive learning methods. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample consisted of 30 children at TK Pembina 1 Kota Jambi, divided into experimental and control groups through purposive sampling. Data were collected using validated mathematical ability observation sheets, encompassing both pre-test and post-test measurements. Statistical analysis using the Mann-Whitney U test yielded a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). The experimental group using the Marbel application achieved a mean post-test score of 82.45, significantly outperforming the control group which scored 58.60. These findings demonstrate that the Marbel Belajar Berhitung application significantly enhances children's mathematical intelligence through visual stimulation and interactive gaming elements. The study concludes that the integration of educational digital media is highly effective in optimizing cognitive development at the early childhood education level. Practical implications emphasize the importance of transforming digital learning media as an innovative solution to improve the quality of numeracy education in schools.

Abstract

Although the evaluation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning has received attention in previous studies, research that specifically investigates the completeness and quality of evaluation components in Kurikulum Merdeka-based PAI teaching modules at the vocational high school level remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the completeness, appropriateness, and quality of learning evaluation components in PAI teaching modules developed by teachers at SMK Negeri 1 Sei Suka. A qualitative approach was employed using a case study design grounded in document analysis, involving 3–4 PAI teachers selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through document analysis of PAI teaching modules and semi-structured interviews, and were then analyzed using content analysis and thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the PAI teaching modules generally include diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments and, for the most part, align with the principles of authentic assessment in Kurikulum Merdeka. However, variations in quality were still identified, particularly in the clarity of rubrics for assessing attitudes, the accuracy of assessment indicators, and the systematization of follow-up learning programs in the form of remedial and enrichment activities. These findings contribute to the development of learning evaluation theory and authentic assessment in Islamic education and broaden the understanding of PAI learning evaluation practices in vocational high schools. The study concludes that the systematic, measurable, and authentic development of learning evaluation components plays an important role in improving the quality of PAI instruction and recommends sustained support for teachers through training and mentoring in assessment development. The implications of this study include theoretical contributions to enriching the literature on PAI learning evaluation and practical implications for schools and teacher professional development, while also opening up opportunities for further research on the influence of evaluation quality on student learning outcomes and character formation.

Abstract

Although the implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) has received considerable attention in higher education research, studies that specifically examine lecturers’ ability to design OBE-based Semester Learning Plans (Rencana Pembelajaran Semester, RPS) for Islamic Religious Education courses remain limited. This study aimed to analyze lecturers’ ability to develop an OBE-based RPS for the course Evaluation of Islamic Religious Education Learning. The study employed a qualitative approach with a document analysis design, involving a single RPS document as the primary data source. Data were collected through a systematic document review using an OBE-based RPS analysis instrument and were analyzed with descriptive–analytical techniques. The findings indicate that the lecturer’s ability to design an OBE-based RPS falls into the “good” category, as reflected in the alignment between learning outcomes, instructional strategies, and assessment techniques. Nevertheless, several components still require refinement, particularly in formulating measurable performance indicators and clarifying the explicit linkage between Course Learning Outcomes (Capaian Pembelajaran Mata Kuliah, CPMK), learning activities, and assessment. These findings contribute to the development of the concept of OBE implementation in higher education and extend understanding of instructional planning practices in the context of Islamic Religious Education. The study concludes that the clarity of learning outcome indicators plays a crucial role in the effectiveness of OBE-based instructional planning and recommends strengthening the capacity of lecturers and study programs in developing outcome-oriented RPS documents. The implications of this research include theoretical contributions to enriching the OBE literature and practical implications for higher education institutions in improving the quality of instructional planning, while also opening avenues for further studies on the alignment between OBE-based planning and classroom implementation.

Abstract

Teacher career advancement is a core industry measure that sustains the stability of basic education teaching staff and drives improvements in regional teaching quality. The rationality of its evaluation mechanism directly shapes the long-term development momentum of faculty teams at private schools. At present, there is obvious ambiguity in the implementation of supporting policies for private junior high school teachers’ career advancement at the local level in Indonesia. A large number of private school teachers in the Jambi region cannot receive clear responses to their career advancement appeals, and there has long been a gap in local empirical research on the factors influencing this group’s career advancement. This study takes private junior high school teachers in the Jambi region as its sample, and uses quantitative empirical methods to explore the impact of three core categories of factors on teachers’ career advancement. The study confirms that all three categories of factors produce significant effects on career advancement outcomes. Based on these findings, it proposes an optimization plan that incorporates the three core categories of factors into a unified assessment framework. This conclusion can not only provide a practical basis for local faculty management, but also offer empirical support for improving private school faculty policies in other regions of Indonesia.
